As seen on my Tiktok, it's the over 30 video saga of me spontaneously deciding to crochet my version of Philza Minecraft's wing in shawl form
Feather Wing shawl pattern created by Megan Lapp and is available on ravel.me/feather-wings-shawl

I've had the pattern for some time now... I was so scared by all the instructions I didn't even start making it lol. My brain scramble so bad when it's not the simplest of instructions lol
@PrinceLinkOfDragona

It looks intimidating but I highly recommend a stitch marker for panel 1. Panel 2 and 3 are a breeze and almost didn't need the stitch marker. It uses sc and hdc, I'm confident that you got this!

@@PrinceLinkOfDragona How much yarn should I order for the entire shawl? I would rather have everything at hand before beginning. I know from experience patterns are not as precise as people having managed to make the item. And thank you in advance for your answer (but no 'thank you' for motivating me to make this lol)

OMG! Omg!!!!!!!!! You have captured crocheting like none other! I’ve been doing this shit for 60 years (damn, I’m old but I digress) and there is no feeling like knowing you took this one string and made something completely EPIC with it. I applaud your tenacity, your perseverance and most of all, your humor. You are so talented and so creative! Here I thought oh, let me have my coffee and just browse through Etsy and oh look, there’s a …. whatttt is that? Is that a girl and a horse and a crocheted wing???? A WING??? Why yes, yes it is. Now I buy a lot of patterns but even a lifelong crocheter would be just a little put off by oh, I don’t know, A PATTERN WITH 131 PAGES???? So I go to her shop and notice she mentions her YT channel often so I click over there and ummm … why does RU-vid update their app like every five minutes and why is the format all different again? I’m mindlessly clicking through her videos snd stuck right in the middle of her video list, I see “so I bought this wing pattern and here’s what happened”. You had me at hello and took me on wild ride straight to the fluttering end!!! You had such an awesome journey with this. So much so, I’m certain she needs to be paying you some of her profits from this pattern. You’ve given every potential buyer hope that they too can go spinning in their front yard with their own wings. Congratulations, job well done. It’s beautiful, simply beautiful!!!!!

Thank you! It did take some getting used to but I highly recommend a locking stitch marker to keep track of the single crochet and half double crochet. Also, if you need to stop working on the shawl, I recommend trying to stop right before the start of a new feather (the pattern is written "feather by feather"). I hope this helps and good luck! :)

Congratulation in finishing it. It's nice to know that your not the only one who had to crochet and unravel projects to success ;) Personally instead of unraveling my project I cut the string and use it to begin anew so that my new try eat up the old one and nothing get tangle along the long way of unraveling ;p

I'm sure you can do it! When I bought the pattern, it was just released but it has since underwent a couple of revisions (sure, one of those was increasing the page count from 90-something to 150 pages long) that I believe makes creating this shawl mich more easier than the old pattern instructions I was working with at the time of these recordings. Thank you again for watching my struggle and the comment! 🙏

Thank you! And I'm not gonna lie, it was my of my arms getting tired on the first panel mainly because of how heavy it was and how long each row was since I had to keep flipping the panel over for each row. Other than that I actually didn't experience any hand cramps though I hold my hook in a pencil grip and not the "knife" grip so that might be the reason why I didn't suffer much cramps. Thank you again for the lovely comment and question! 🙏

Dude! Watching this was so inspiring! I'm still pretty new to crochet and I've been wanting to do stuff like this in the future when I can afford the materials. I loved watching the process of making this! Roughly, how long did the whole thing take to make?
@PrinceLinkOfDragona
@PrinceLinkOfDragona 2 года назад
I'm glad that this project is inspiring you to crochet! I love to see new people learn how to do needle art, it makes me happy knowing this art is being continued! Roughly it took me about 2 months to complete but that was because I work full time and had to babysit my cousin on the weekends. I've read that other people were able to complete all three panels of the wing shawl in 2 weeks (which I can definitely see since the 3rd panel took me less than a week to complete), but that is without all the extra diamond patches and hard-core hearts I added to itm

I'm just finishing the first feather, but rows 5 and 6 are confusing me. At the end of row 5, where you chain 1 and turn, did you go back down the feather or work into the original chain? If it's the latter, how did you work it out with the ch1 turn? X
@PrinceLinkOfDragona
@PrinceLinkOfDragona 2 года назад
So after you decrease into the original chain on 5, you chain one and work back down the feather (away from the original chain) and ch 13 (this chain will be the tip and start of your new feather)

Philza (spelled Ph1LzA on RU-vid and Twitch) is a Fps/Minecraft gamer. His minecraft in-game skin is actually Kisuke Urahara from Bleach (since Kisuke is His favorite character), but when DreamSMP started to gain popularity, a lot of the fan artists begun to draw Philza basically as Kisuke, but as an Immortal being with crow wings. Hope this helps! 😅
