I saw Crocodile Dundee a few times when I was small and this subway scene music burned its way into my head and stayed there ever since. I don't know why it took me so long to finally look this up on RU-vid, or what exactly prompted me to do it today. I'm just happy I did.
That subway scene was one of the strongest emotional times I have ever seen and lived through. It was so perfectly planned and executed, and the love between the two was so incredible that it made the scene that much more amazing. I teared up every time I saw it. And I still do. That's how you know that the director and writer knew exactly what they were doing, and you know what? They'll probably never make another scene like this in movie history again. This is, by far, the greatest dramatic love scene ever, and it shall always be...
I was listening to this piece of music as we came in to land in Sydney, after flying over Harbor bridge and Sydney Opera House. Landing just as the music was about to finish....it was perfect!
This music always makes me emotional. Remember the good childhood times. Those 80s were the best. No fu... smartphones everywhere. We kids used to still play with each other and talk. Not just stare at those stupid screens....
I bought the soundtrack several years ago and this is still my #1...man, when that snare comes in when she starts running and when the strings come in he's doing whatever it takes to get to her. Such a great movie.
So true. The acting was top notch. Especially Linda's. You can really feel for Sue and she goes from confused, to concerned, to running in fear she will miss her chance at love
That part brings the inner cheerleader out in me for Sue. Run Girl, Run Faster, get to Him as fast as possible! This song just makes it so easy to feel that vibration. This movie/story (and the sequel too) are excellent examples of some of the best work ever!! Almost an Angel with these two lovely people as actress/actor was amazing too! Great acting pair! 💙💜
A true classic, they don't make them like this anymore. The scene where the guy at the party is sniffing coke and Dundee thinks he's stuffed up! Priceless.
@@madphantom7161 There are many great reasons to love this movie ! it's loaded with good natured humor and memorable scenes that centre around his ''AUSSIE ness'' Cheers Luv!!
The movie was a lot of fun to watch yet it's a bit surprising how such a beautiful song like this ended up being a part of it. When I was a kid I had the film on video cassette and I rewound the ending just to hear this song over and over again.
Eastbound & Down S3 E8. Loved hearing this. Brought back memories of the 80's. My grandfather loved Crocodile Dundee. I used to watch this with him whenever I visited. RIP 9/15/1988.
I think they actually got married in real life. Their real life din supposedly played in Dundee 3, but this is all stuff I just heard and not checked out.
Their chemistry was real thats why. They got it on in real life and married and sadly divorced years later. But its nice to watch any couple in love isn’t it 😀👍
Wow...this takes me back hard. I was 10 the year this came out and I ended up getting it on VHS for my 11th birthday. I must have watched this movie 100 times. Re-watched it recently and fell in love with Australia all over again. So many great scenes!
Peter Best's music for this movie is addictive for me. I need a 60 minute version just to begin to satisfy my thirst for that way cool sensation it gives you. The composition captures Dundee's coolness vis a vis facing danger, capturing the beautiful Linda Koslowski (in the movie and for real), and the cat-like, smooth, unruffled way the character moved through life indifferent to the distractions of just about anything including city life . On top of all this, Peter then fashioned the melody to be something unlike anything else in that it is comforting as well as totally enjoyable. The production really crafted the instruments to give an irresistible sound and made the indigenous type of music both smooth and "Catchy" (Not easy to do). At the risk of ridicule because this music belongs to a popcorn movie, it is one the best pieces of music I've ever heard.
Loved these movies since seeing them as a child in the 80’s, introduced my kids to them this week, they loved them too. This music has been my earworm all week, but I don’t mind, it’s fantastic.
I keep coming back to this movie and it's sequel. It's aged pretty well and the music is as epic as anything else you could name. Such surprising quality for what at the time was considered a cute culture-class-comedy.
I just can't get tired of watching these movies. Think I like better the second one, although. This song, in the other hand, is one of that unique pieces that traps you forever, and every time you listen to it again... bam!!! Suddenly you are back in the days you saw the movie for the first time!!! And of curse, Linda Kozlowsky... WHAT A WONDERFUL WOMAN!!! I just fell in love the very moment I saw her in the first movie...
2016, much time has passed since I was young and remember this music from my childhood. There is one thing I noticed that I wouldn't of realized being young. The people of the past (their personalities and emotions) will never be around for the much different future and technology. This music right here puts the thought in my mind that the generation living now will die with music like this, explaining who they were with the amazing composition of sound, but the song itself will never perish, and I could expire knowing that. Time is very powerful, and the people of the past even more so. Music taught me this, as well as the emotional effect it has on us. And lastly, the music or song being made doesn't have to be advanced professionally. No. This song is simple, calming, and has one of the biggest impacts of emotions . . . and there will never be anything else like it. Just like the people of the past . . .
This song, simple, basic & uncomplicated in its texture, hits all the right notes seamlessly & harmoniously, thus does it strike the right primal & emotional chords, the ones that we can all identify with, treasure & usually harness with ease (when influenced by such sounds). Certainly casts a spell on me every time I hear it!
Eine der besten Soundtracks... Musik passt sehr gut zu der emotionellen Stimmung im Film. Die musikalische und Szenenauflösung passn hervorragend. Top!
All the Crocodile Dundee films show Paul Hogan in his prime. Dead pan humour and a sharp script with great cinematography and performances from Hogan and Kolkowski in particular. This music captures the atmosphere of the outback beautifully. A great series of films.
I remember watching this movie as a kid for the first time and as soon as it was over, I was outside picking up sticks to try to bash plants with. My mum bought me a tent soon after so I could camp out in the garden Dundee style. Didn't make it through the evening though. Far too scary in urban back garden 😂
What I just noticed about this is how the music represents the two leads coming together. The opening is the same as the opening theme which is the more "traditional" music mixing with the modern horns, drums, and synth that shows his incorporation into the modern world. Maybe I'm reading too much into it.
That's not a theme song... THIS is a THEME SONG!! (SO glad I found this... But if you haven't, check out the extended version on another channel -- WheW! Also has a sweet foto of Mick!)
