My wife and son would recognise his voice in an instant. His is their favourite BSB. We’ve been to their DNA tour in Sydney this year (on my son’s birthday) and my son and wife had a blast!
@Yvette Winkler this is a late comment but Nick Carter was in the Backstreet Boys they started in '93. However autotune came out '96. So AP Wong's statement is correct.
I am reading the comments and don't understand why people think he's old. He started singing with the Back Street Boys when he was 12. He's only 42 in this video. Unfortunately, some singers lose their voices because they strain them too much, but 40-something isn't old.
Real Backstreet Boys Fans knew when he start singing "Open arms". Back to the 90s Nick sang this song and it was a big thing for us fans. We remember!!

Absolutely, without a doubt… the BEST ever! Nick has talent that is out of this world! I love his voice, but I had NO idea he could effortlessly sing so many different genres! Aerosmith and Journey had me crying… he’s unbelievable!
News flash it's 1genre Rock and Roll . Each band Journey, Aerosmith Bon Jovi are considered Rock bands .. genres are Rap, Country Rock etc so unless he sang songs other than from Rock bands he only sang 1genre. Just different bands

He is the perfect example of how you can turn your life around, be happy, in the present and just a great father and husband! He could have gone the other way considering his parents, siblings and fame, but he didn't. Good for you Nick!! 💝💞
As weird as it is the brilliance of this show is allowing established artists to show what they’re capable of purely by voice instead of image. I was never a fan of this era but no doubt this man can sing and connect

With Westlife and Backstreet Boys I can't choose one over the other band member. When it comes to an objective opinion about vocal range, pitch and versatility....It's fair to say Mark Feehily and Nick Carter are the best of their bands.
That was amazing! I love Nick and his voice and how he sang Open Arms. Which is my favorite Journey song that I got hooked to from Steve Perry. My dad got me hooked on Journey. I love Steve Perry as well. I’m 42. ❤

Great performance, Nick! I bet Steve Perry and Jonathan Cain are really proud of that performance. There is an interesting backstory to "Open Arms". When Jonathan Cain first joined Journey in 1981, Steve Perry met with Jonathan and said, "I want to do a ballad." In response, Jonathan said to Steve, "Journey does ballads?" Then Jonathan started playing a song that he originally wrote for John Waite, the former lead singer of The Babys, but John Waite outright rejected the song, saying that it was "sentimental rubbish". So Jonathan played the song for Steve Perry, who said, "Too bad for John, but good for us (Journey)." So Jonathan and Steve went on to record "Open Arms" with a little reluctance from Journey guitarist Neal Schon for the album "Escape". "Open Arms" went on to become a #2 single on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982.

Not really. Backstreet Boys still tour regularly. His case isn't like some of the people that have been on here. Backstreet boys can still sell out shows. They're legends!

Sh*t. I was a teenage boy when BSB was huge so I guess my fandom was hidden But this dude. He can hit all the high notes and he helped cover some of the bass parts when Kevin had his hiatus. Dude has range.
You don’t even need to know BSB to know it is Nick Carter. He is already popular in his own right! With BSB’s recent album being number 1, I hear their newer music in places vs their older stuff more since 2019! Hell yeah!
