Crocodiles are one of the most dangerous animals on the planet. Their scientific name is Crocodilia and they are fascinating ancient predators that have been feared and respected by humans. They are vertebrate animals, carnivorous, meaning they feed on other animals.
Crocodiles can grow up to 20 ft. and can weigh up to 2000 lbs. They live in freshwater habitats within the planet's tropical forests.
They are also excellent swimmers. and due to their large tail, they can reach speeds of up to 20 mph. That's pretty fast!
