The CEO Andrew Rees lives in my town and I had the pleasure of meeting him. He came off as extremely down to earth, after I told him I do freelance marketing he had a million questions and seemed genuinely interested in what I do. Just from a 5 minute conversation I could sense that this man was very open minded and definately a perfect fit for his position.
@@UCR7L completely serious, It was at a career fair type thing but for high-schoolers and he was a speaker there. He was giving kids free pairs of crocs just for asking questions, great guy.
I love my Crocs. I've only bought 2 pairs of basic design Crocs and they last a hell of a long time. I don't know if it's just me, but the first pair I bought back in 2007 feels way more comfortable than the pair I bought in 2015.
The bottoms wear out after a year or two of mostly wearing everyday and they get super slippery when the bottoms flat and you walk on water on a smoothish surface
@@imrino2918 Actually what I meant was that the comfort levels (i.e. softness) were different when they were brand new. Both genuine Crocs by the way. The comfy pair was bought at my local department store in Vancouver, and the other pair at an outlet in Las Vegas. I might as well also mention that the comfy pair was Made in China, and the other Made in Mexico😆
Successful people don't become that way overnight. most people see at a glance-wealth, a great career, purpose-is the result of hard work and hustle over time. I pray that anyone who reads this will be successful in life
@Jamie Janny Exactly ! That's my major concern and what kind of profitable business or investment can someone do with the current rise in economic downturn
@@Anonymouseys ya I figured. I haven't watched a lot of his videos before and I didn't know if he was experimenting with it or if it's typical for him. Just wanted to say it's working
My first thought about crocs was indeed that it was ugly. And then after hearing a lot of enthusiasm from my cousins, I ended up getting one. True enough, the things that become popular and sell out, are the ones that are well marketed. You can even make a stupid cheap item look expensive and people will buy it. Life is what we make it.
I have been buying Crocs for over 10 years. People used to make comments, now every kid wears them. Even if they go out of fashion I will still wear them every day.
I suffered with extreme pain in my legs and was unable to wear any tight fit shoes.. doctor suggested that I wear crocs..that's how I discovered these shoes are comfortable beyond words
I had trouble with plantar facitis and these ugly shoes are one of the few things that help me feet. They're still ugly but I wear my Crocs and socks all the time still.
i think crocs are pretty practical for what it does. I'm from India and i use a motorcycle. due to hot weather we can't wear shoes all day, and also with slippers there is problem in gear shifting. crocs are a good alternative
True, although the foam is less durable than most shoe materials, it’s extremely good grip on the floor. Only thing lacking is the grip inside the shoe
The most convenient and comfy footwear I have owned. Proudly wearing them and having a lot of pairs now - thanks for sharing the story behind the hard work and struggle ❤️
I remember hating Crocs because they were ugly and looked dumb. Now, 20 years later, they're still not for me but I think they look perfectly normal lol. My little sister wears them with her little charms on them. I called them "flare" and she looked at me like I was crazy lol.
I never trust a dude in Crocks. Especially if they're wearing them in the gym. They're hideous, and definitely not protecting your toes when the weights come crashing down (nor anything else I tend to frequent. Definitely not allowed on the warehouse floor when that was a thing, and good luck not loosing them on the trails)
I see people wearing crocs all the time when I was younger I thought crocs were just the name of the product like shoes or food idk 😂 but anyways eventually I learned that crocs is a huge company not something that a bunch of company made. But yeah I went to the hospital yesterday and saw loads of workers wearing crocs. Went to the boat thing on the pier and saw loads of people wearing crocs. Then I saw this video and it's making me itch for a pair of crocks. And a couple of cute decorations on them. Sorry for the long rant but thanks for reading have a nice day!
In India people call these as bathroom chappals because they are used in the toilets. God knows how the western world took to these cheaply made chappals
They're fine product. Bit over rated and overpriced though. Here in the Philippines, any single pair, regardless of the design or size costs at least 60 dollars
they are very high marging. they cost 4$ to make. they had to increase the price several times because they last so long. most people that buy a pair wont need another for several years.
@@techdaddy31 The average monthly salary in PH was like 45000 pesos... Spending $60 is 3242 pesos. 7% of your monthly salary for Crocs is insane. No way it costs $60 there.
My grandpa wore these back in the early 2000’s around the farm and even he said he’d never been seen in public wearing them, crazy how much the trends swing 😅
It is simply the best shoe ever made. Most comfortable , indestructible, low maintenance, go anywhere, easy to put on and take off. I sincerely hope they keep making them for another 50 years.
@@G00dN1ghT Well, tbf if you're running in crocs the problem is more you than the shoe since its original role was to be an evolved sandal/clog, not a competitor to Nike and other brands making running/sports shoes. 🧐
Firstly i gotta admit my crocs are the best pair of shoes/scandals I've ever owned. It's a blessing for broad feet people. Will never give you a shoe bite even on excessive use. Although the price is high and crocs have a very casual look i would say it's an investment as one crocs can last you for 5-7 years.
I swore some years ago that i would never buy these ugly rubbers, and here i am now. Honestly, i didn't buy the original model but a chunky one, and i have a lot of fun making outfits for them and pairing linen shirts with them. Love it. Not as comfortable as I expected though.
Sorry for coming with a different interference, can I get any enlightenment about crypto, in line with an expert that can assist me trade and generate a good profit.
What a crazy story. I never knew anything about them. I've been wearing their service industry shoes in the kitchen for years. They're cheap, comfortable and last for years. Great to hear their history.
@@frankmundo4300 they don't stay on your feet like a normal shoe. Also they are not steel toes and not great for 10 hours standing and running in a kitchen.
Hey I just wanna say thank you for making these videos, I would normally never watch stuff like this but you make it really intertwine and keep my ADHD focused on this. I have been binging you videos
@@ihazskinpv yeah I do and it works well I just hadn’t taken it when I watched this as I normally take in durring weekdays for school but it was the weekend
My father uses crocs like in the thumbnail. He likes it because it practical, toenails don't easily catch dirt, it's not slippery and support feet because of the strap at the back.
Crocs are such a cool comfortable shoe. I truly enjoy wearing them even though I must admit they're not the most fashionable shoes in the world. I didn't know t much back story behind the footwear, thanks for sharing this!
In sweden we call them foppa toffel , the former Colorado hockey player Peter Forsberg used them after a foot surgery and that was the first time they where ever seen in sweden . So the name got stuck , many people even think it is Peter Forsbergs company
Light, comfortable, easy to clean, Lil to no maintenance required and extremely durable. Unless you purposely burn or cut it, it's almost indestructible. Best footwear while gardening and rainy season. Unless you don't like it's design, it ticks all the necessary features a casual footwear can offer.
So weird. I bought a pair of Crocs before heading off with my band in 2010 to Mozambique to play a really cool festival on the beech called STRAB (Subterranean Rhythm and Blues). I tried them on in the shop, didn't think they were all that comfortable, but they did fit - the salesperson agreed - so I figured I just needed to give myself a bit of time with them. I've never really been a sandals kind of guy. But I was heading down to the whitest, cleanest, most remote beech-side resort I'd ever been to in my life at the perfect time of year weather-wise for five whole days, and I was only actually performing on the fourth of them. I was preparing for the paid holiday of a lifetime and wasn't ready to miss any opportunities that might come about to compound my enjoyment of it. I paid for the Crocs, took them home and packed them and there in my bag they stayed until we arrived at Ponta Malongane Dive Camp and Resort. The following day, myself and my band mate Al hit the road and drove the seven hours along the freeway, including a stretch of it replete with moon crater-sized potholes scattered about making the tarmac look like dark grey Swiss cheese, all the way to the southern-most border of Mozambique where we I parked my little blue Peugeot and caught a ride in a four-wheel drive truck over the duney beech sand roads until we arrived at the resort and because we were early, I chose a spot to pitch my tent no more that a hundred meters from the shoreline in a small clearing of soft greenery about three minute's walk from the main stage we'd be playing on that coming Saturday night at 20:00. Once the tent was pitched, I wasted no time putting on my swimming trunks and brand-new Crocs and hurried out of my tent toward the beech. I wasn't fifteen paces from the tent when common sense kicked in and I thought to myself, "No way am I gonna be able to stand these shoes for another second." My goodness, I have never had feet so uncomfortable in my life. I left the Crocs next to my tent in plain view of any and every person attending the festival. Now, I'm not used to my property hanging around unsupervised on account of the part of the world in which I live. I didn't see any need to create a sign saying "Free Crocs to Weird and Needy Feet." I simply expected them to disappear at some point during the next few hours while myself and my band mates splashed happily about in the warm, tranquil, early winter and therefore sharkless (more or less) ocean. For the next five days I had no need for shoes of any kind at all. The biggest threat to my podiatric well-being was the occasional seashell or poorly extinguished cigarette butt. The though of wearing shoes didn't cross my mind for the rest of the festival. I didn't bother to check on the Crocs. I was sure they'd have been permanently borrowed by the end of day one. Low and behold, day five, once I'd deflated my mattress and shaken off the sadness the thought of returning to Johannesburg came with, I climbed out of my tent and there was a local nearby evidently collecting alms from festival-goers. I told him he could have my tent and everything in it. He was of course very grateful. He toook the tent down with a deft skill that beggared belief and packed away the inflatable mattress along with the sleeping bag. I looked at the ground and the Crocs were still there! I told him please to take them too - that I didn't mind at all. He politely refused. Now that I've related my Crocs story, I'm sure it's completely understandable that the video I just watched spun me right 'round, baby, right 'round.
i loved reading this did you ever wear a pair of crocs ever again? ive always hated them and thought they were uncomfortable and hideous and i love flip flops
I only wore Crocs once in my life. I was in Belize driving the short distance to the West side of this country with my buddy. On the way there we stopped to float the river and a very nice Belizean guide had a shed full of Crocs of different sizes for, mainly tourist, who did the float. It was a good water shoe.
I don't care what people think, been using crocs for over 12 years now. I literally buy them because they are COMFORT, I couldn't care less about anything else and that's why they win, no other casual/flipflop/home shoe comes even near to the comfort of crocs. Heck I can even go to shower with them and out, never slip and get unwet super fast, there is just no bad use for them beside sports/heavy duty activities .. and that's not the reason they where made of or what they try to compete with, so that's 100% ok.
This channel made a video about James Jani but I have a feeling that James is making a video about Jani. They sound similar, almost same energy, suspense at intro. James Jani hasn’t uploaded for 7 months yet his channel was growing. I think he is behind this channel. But if my instinct is true, he is a genius.
Here in the philippines, 2007 is like the year of the crocs rise. What i like about crocs is i can wear them for 5-6 yrs. Long lasting even tho a lil pricey here, $60.
Even though they were ugly I loved them the moment I saw because I knew that almost no body is going to wear them and I always liked to be different than most of people. Now when they became mainstream I don't wear them anymore
I love Crocs! I've always thought it was ugly asf but we were gifted couple pairs and they're so comfortable! My senior parents absolutely loved them too. I always cringe whenever these "fashion" people diss crocs when they praise these Balencia garbage bags and whatever hunger games costumes they put in these runway shows.
I bought my first cros in burlingtons for $8 9 years ago. Still works..bought 2nd pair for 20 dollars this year. The back strap broke quickly though. And rubber is degrading although still serviceable..getting much softer. Comfort is king.
It's because of its water resistant property. At the same time higher heels & fairly good comfort makes the crocs very captivating. It's bulky appearance makes it unique. These are the factors that made it World famous.
Just watched your top 20 money movie video, I had seen 11 of them so I am now catching up with the other 9 over the next few weeks. Started with Limitless which was really good. I think “Wizard of Lies’ (the Bernie Madof story) should have been in the top 5 but it is your list! Great channel
I use em as indoor shoes at home, I mean your toes can spread, they have a soft sole and they help make you feel like your feet are protected from dirt and dust
@@hellothere6627 oh thats right, whenever theyre in need of some "insight", crocs marketing team comes directly to magnatesmedias youtube comments so they can find out what @hello there has to say.. i forgot.
Wow...thanks for the backstory on Crocs...I literally grew up with Crocs can't wait for other backstories you have. Cheers from Australia...land of Crocs...
Here’s my advice for the thumbnail: It feels like there is so much going on which is very unpleasant to the eye. There’s too much text, I’d suggest that you take out the “UGLY” from the background. Furthermore, the “crocs” on the shoe is unnecessary; everybody knows the brand just by seeing the shoe, so there is no need for it. A title suggestion: How a Man Made Billions Selling Ugly Shoes Good luck! I hope that your video does well!
All it took was a pair of passed upon, heavily discounted thrift store Crocs sandals to begin my obsession. I'd struggled with foot pain all my life, even as a child running track in school. I now own almost 20 pairs and although I have a profession that requires I "dress to impress", I can't bring myself to go backwards. I never want to feel foot pain again and Crocs are a loyal ally in that endeavor 😉🚫👠👠
The Italian shoes design mentioned in the video would be closed toe "zoccoli". These are normally used in hospitals and kitchens for sanitary reasons and are ugly, white and perforated. Scholl's "clog supercomfort" shoes are a good example of how they look like, although the originals had wooden soles.
The thing I really like about Crocs even though they're pretty ugly is, that they're extremely comfy, they don't squeeze your toes together like most shoes do. People have crooked feet because of the squeezing shoes, and not only foot but other pain too due to wearing too small shoes. And many shoes, even though they're your size, squeeze hella lot and start to hurt after wearing for some time. There should be more nicelooking shoes that don't ruin your feet.
Used to be apart of the crowd that thought crocs were ugly and never wore them once. Now I still think they’re ugly but I know how useful and comfy they are
Because crocs are comfortable, durable and still looked good after years of getting beat down. Who cares about looks when it is easy to clean and does not look cheap too.
Cross-training shoes are designed for versatility, allowing wearers to engage in a variety of physical activities, from running to weightlifting. They often feature a combination of support, cushioning, and stability, making them suitable for a wide range of workouts. These shoes have evolved to cater to the diverse needs of athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
boedecker got busted taylor swifting in 2012, got replaced by snyder, who made crocs seem unstoppable until 2007.. really??? i cant wait to see what direction they take the company in 1995.
I really like my Crocs sandals. They aren't as ugly as the original crocs, but have the easy to clean material, so they are excellent for wearing to the beach.
I have a pair of the cheapest Crocs given to me. I initially didn't like it. But it grew on me when I started wearing it. It's comfortable and durable. Once I wore it riding a motorcycle and got into an accident. It provided good protection on my feet.
i doubt crocs protected ur feet in a motorcycle wreck they would fall off since they don’t lace or strap to ur feet bet u had hella road rash on ur feet 😂
I HAVE THREE PAIRS OF CROCS AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM THEY'RE THE MOST COMFORTABLE THING ON THE PLANET AND OTHER PEOPLE WHO WEAR CROCS ALSO UNDERSTAND HOW AWESOME THEY ARE. SEEING A MAN WITH PINCHED UP TOES IN TINY LITTLE FEMALE SHOES MAKES ME WANT TO VOMIT SO IF YOU THINK MY CROCS ARE UGLY I PROBABLY THINK YOUR SHOES ARE UGLY TOO
I'm autistic and I hate wearing clothing in general; I started wearing Crocs everywhere once I tried them (down town, at bars etc). Obviously a lot of people I met thought I was a weirdo, but I would just laugh in their face and tell them they're stupid if they value proper looks over comfort...
As a croc head , who has been using an 1500 inr one for over 3 years i can clearly say that Even though it can be pretty costly but for the time being it can be a nice way of getting the maximum for what you've paid.
i remember when i first started wearing crocs people laughed at me, i wore them because they were comfortable and did not care how they looked but people would always snarkily say nice crocks and then laugh. i dont know when exactly it happened but one day people started saying the same thing to me only this time they were not being snarky or sarcastic. i did not realize this at first but when i found out that at some point crocs actually became cool i laughed. people are so tribalistic its funny lol.
Those very convenient and renewable cheap and save money and does not stink plus no one steal it...I love it in garden , in the yard , to neighborhood convenient store safely.
