You thought THIS was bad? In the manga, Medusa gave Crona a pet rabbit for some weeks, and then forced him to kill it, along with 2 other rabbits, in 3 different ways. The Anime had no choice but to censor the scene since it was so dark.
@@jazmindelucio9650 I never read nor see the chapter of it. It's twisted, yeah it kinda reminds me how Stan tells Barry to kill a baby cow, because his reason, in his quote, "a man kills what a man loves before it weakens him". There is no remorse in him when he ate the baby cow.
As much as I like Manga in general, I prefer the anime version because he get's a better ending. Someone who suffers that much but redeems himself deserves a happy ending.

Interesting part is that in the manga she was shown as being insightfuly aware of Kishin's dangerous influence upon the world, so much Maka pointed it out (just prior to storming Arachna's base). At the moment it seemed as if Medousa was actually concerned about what Kishin was doing to the world. And the whole point of her mistreatment of Crona was to groom him into a force that would stop Kishin. And then the las time we saw her in the manga she gave us a smile so batshit crazy and scary I had troubles recognizing her face in the frame, so distorted that smile was it looked like a gaping wound more than a smile. Literally what the heck was going on in her head.
I think she was chaotic in nature , her science side was moved by curiosity (like an certain character of made in abyss) so i think she just wanted see how things went .
@@gabrielhenriquesilva2014 Reasonable. Though she sounded less curious and more genuinely concerned in that scene. I myself believe that crazy witch was a mask that grew to close to the face to take it off. In crazy world of monsters and witches cutting down empathy may've been a way to go, if an unhealthy one. It may've become a matter of pride for the witch to show others this smug superiority, to feel and pose stronger, to step over others more easily. So much so that even on her deathbed she was grinning madly, almost pointing at herself: "Look, unbroken still!". I think she has more humane side to her, like when she showed enjoyment dancing with Stein or concern seeing how madness affect the world.
This is why I want to punch Medusa in the face repeatedly... THIS is why Medusa is my least favourite anime character ever. Crona on the onther hand... Crona's my favourite XD
Very true. Though Ragyo Kiryuin from Kill La Kill could give her a run for her money as worst anime Mother who experimented on her children...cause she did it to BOTH her daughters
a Dragon is lame in the manga it was a fricken Rabbit that was much more understandable and Dramatic when he blankly walk up to it with a blank face and KILLED IT
I think both work in different ways: Crona didn't want to kill the baby rabbit because he thought it was cute. Crona didn't want to kill the baby dragon because he thought it was scary. Both play on different but equally valid aspects of Crona's personality--his innocence and his fear. In one version, Medusa destroys Crona's innocence, in another, she forces him to deal with his fears in an unhealthy/destructive way. And in either case, Crona's killing an innocent baby animal. The dragon may be scary, but there's no indication that Medusa didn't just...steal its egg from its mother and raise it for the express purpose of letting it be slaughtered by Crona and Ragnarok.
This was my second anime, I almost cried at this part multiple times, at the time, I couldn't understand, but now, I relate to Crona on a deep emotional level.
All I can say is that Maxey Whitehead is a genius of a voice actress and one day I’m gonna meet her. When I do I’m gonna thank her for playing a character that brought depression and anxiety into the spotlight. For making those of us who have it feel seen
She is like the equivalent of Emily Neves in my opinion, because Emily can play a little girl very perfectly so much so that I actually believed it was a little girl (Eri), and Maxey actually made me believe that some of her characters were actually voiced by a little boy.
I feel really sorry for her. She's a character that I relate the most to. A lot of the time I feel misunderstood, and antisocial, and sometimes a little crazy.
The anime also fails to emphasize that crona wasnt allowed to eat during the days he was locked in the room. Driven insane by hunger and constant abuse from Ragnarok

In the manga it was a bunny, but actually when you think about it, killing a dragon might be worse, I mean there's a ton of rabbits, how often do you see a dragon? even in Soul Eater

youtube recommended me some crona clips the other day for absolutely no reason and now i’ve fallen in love with his character and watched all episodes of the anime within 4 days. i LOVE characters like this. it’s like the creators serve you your heart on a silver platter, and then grab it in their hands, squishing it, squeezing it, ripping it to shreds. you want to cry out in agony cause you like the character so much, but at the same time i cannot get enough of that feeling. also cronas voice is adorable and i could listen to it on a 10 hour loop.
I would like to feel that Medusa loves Crona somewhere in her heart, and feels bad for her. But Medusa is a witch, so there is a very high chance she just wanted a Kishin, and that's the only reason Crona is alive.
HUGE MANGA SPOILERS . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ok so in the manga, instead of a dragon they were forced to kill multiple bunnies. Also later on they end up actually snapping at medusa and killing her. Then the devoured the kishin and sacrificed themself for all the other students and teachers at death academy. BTW!!! The reason i used they/them pronouns for crona because the creator has confirmed that crona is in fact genderless,so i just used they them.
It really hurts me seeing crona frown man. They really need a hug and loyal support. I'm watching episode 39 right now and seeing how he almost breaks into tears makes me feel so bad
I kinda wish the add the bunny instead bc it would make sense when he says to maka that she reminds him of the little one bc her pigtails and made the bunny’s fur the same color as maka’s hair
AND THE AWARD FOR WORST PARENT EVER IS...... THATS RIGHT MEDUSA!!!!! ( that last part creeped me out and now i feel bad and want to give crona a hug :( )
In my day school was violent, I've been dragged by the hair and beaten unconscious, kicked in the ribs, had knives pulled on me, stomped by groups of kids. I in return shattered ribs and broke fingers, knee stomped peoples guts out, I beat an older kid so bad years later when he saw me he ran for his life. I was told how to fight, taught to never back down or they'll just get worse and boy they sure did. All this by 11 years old before I transferred to another school, it was smaller but there were still fights and I got caught bringing a hunting knife to school. So yeah teaching a kid how to mess someone up has some negative side effects
Do you know how absolutely terrible it'd be to have your blood come out of your body the way Ragnarok does for Crona? The only thing that keeps them from feeling it the way they should is the Madness that holds them
It feels like crona is a homunculus they could have a boy or girl figure with a unknown gender I mean look at Envy in full metal alchemist I'm questioning either he's a she or a he
Something clarified in the master prints of the manga by Square is that Crona classifies as an Androgynous Non-Binary. The Androgynous part isn't new, but both make sense because of this depressing shit right here. Crona probably never even figured out what a gender was until much, much later on into their life, and even then that's most likely after the events of the show/manga as even there it's shown that they don't really understand the concept.
They barely understand half of human interactions , and getting worse over time due madness , but is good reminder that soul eater world is not normal , witchers are not humans , crona it self doesn't have an human soul to start with since the all kishin dynamic.
If I were crona in the situation where he got out of the dark room and said I still do not know how to deal with this situation, I would have just returned to the dark room immediately.
