Enjoyed this video...I just ordered one of these from Walmart for $60. +tax. Thanks for all your work on RU-vid.

Last year I bought a Crosman 2100 that was made in April 2020 it has a metal reciever and a metal pump arm inside the forearm. The gun shoots good and I enjoy target shooting with it as much as I do my other guns from Daisy, Umarex and Gamo.

When I was in my teens in the 70s a friend that I went shooting with had a 2100 . It was powerful and accurate. He was always trying to outdo me with the Crosman 6100 - Which it couldn't do but it was better than he gave it credit for. He ended up with a Sheridan and then a Nylon .22. Good times and good memories.

Seems like a great rifle in the mid $70 range

Great multipump. Inmo can't beat it for the money
@kevinroberts1888
The first air gun I ever bought was one of these. Somewhere in the early to mid 90's (can't remember exactly,) I decided to give air guns a go. Been mostly shooting 22LRs up to that point, but already being severely hearing impaired, I decided it would be a good idea to limit myself to firearm noise. My 2100 classic is still in my collection and still works great. It's a lot easier to pump than any of my other air rifles so I've kept it around for when I have someone along with me for plinking.

I also have an old 766 that I got when I was 14 back in '79. I still have it and it still works, great guns that apparently last forever if you take decent care of them. Back in '12 I bought a 2100 at Wal-Mart for fifty bucks. I built a wooden stock and forearm (pump arm) for it, and put a nice scope on it. Looks great and it too still works perfectly and is very accurate!

I bought a 2100 Classic. After 1500 rounds of pellets the grouping was all over the place. After 1000 rounds of bbs the pellet grouping and overall accuracy was much better and still improving.

Used to have the 2200 magnum

Nibs I brought a 2100 from Amazon in February 2024 for $60 plus Sales Tax with Prime shipping. I used the Keywords "Crosman Classic" and got three options to choose from. The one I got had a production code of N21 and came with a 4x15 scope. The scope worked much better than the scope in my 760B kit.
@ALLairBBandPelletGuns
My first BB/pellet rifle was a 760 & got it with no Butt stock. My dad had one of three stocks from a Winchester model 101 O/U that he had a friend at Winchester fit to the 760. It looked great but so wrong. The stock was one of three my dad was going to send to Olin Kodensha in Japan for a pre/production styling model of the very first 101 in 20ga (i have that beauty) It was full fancy French Walnut that my dad hand selected the blank for. My friend Larry said the back of my 760 was rich and the front was poor.

The charging and firing mechanisms may be very similar, and I'm sure they are virtually identical feeding pellets. There are clear differences between the 760 and the other two rifles feeding BBs.

You know what? I never thought about the rifling and steel shot going through it and wasting it down. Leaf is MUCH softer hence your comment, thanks you kindly

Looks exactly like the 766 I had.I am guessing an updated version of the 766 but must have the same power plant?As I recall the 766 was quite potent.I don't think that there's a significant difference between those 3 guns.Yes the BB magazine is rather perplexing.I believe that the 766 family were roughly modeled on the Remington Nylon which,as you'll almost certainly know,was an early plastic stock .22 LR rifle (1960's?) and I believe semi automatic but I can't remember now. I think that the Nylon was the model 66 Nylon hence the 66 in the 766? Maybe Remington introduced the Nylon in 1966 ?
