For your next video regarding these types that use that latch button you push to open, it should be noted that a shooter should not just slam the barrel back up so as to make it latch, as this will decrease the life of the latching mechanism. You should always press the button to close the barrel. I have seen the results of both methods, and the CLOSE WITH NO BUTTON PRESS shows a TON more wear.

Good gun, I got two rats with it.

It shoots less powerfully the colder it gets. The mor eyou shoot the cooler it gets because CO2 is freezing cold.

Like all CO2 guns, the pressure drops off when you fire in quick succession. The cartridges will get cold and the velocity will drop. If you take a break for about 30 seconds to a minute, the temperature and pressure will rise again.

He shot straight in every sense of the word...calling it as He saw it ; with a very tough yet genuine love for Pneumatic Weaponry ....Giving praise when it was due , and calling a Lemon by the fruit of its tree .... Going on to His Great Reward : Our Fore Father and Elder Statesman of The Airgun World has left a Big Bench rest to fill.

great review! I LOVE my Crosman CR357'a.... I wish they would make a .22cal revolver, like a HIGH END adult focused one.. and have it come with 2 diff barrel lengths and styles.. ( I.E. one snubby 3" one traditional style maybe? and one 6-8" one with top and bottom rails that was more Tacticool, and would allow for a taclight on the bottom and maybe a red dot or long eye relief pistol scope up top?)... Anyways.. I know Crosman made a really sweet .,22 cal revolver back in the 50's -70's... and I would LOVE to have one... but I know if they were to make a version of this gun, but much higher end.. and make it metal, .22, focused on power and accuracy and quality... that they would sell... I know they could build a $200 .22 revolver ( NO REMOVEABLE SHELLS PLEASE!!! lol) that could push a 14.3 CPHP at 460-500+ fps!!! ... heck... even though i cant afford a PCP... Ide REALLY love to see em make a .22 cal pellet revolver that was PCP and could get up around 700fps!!.... that would be worth a lot fo cash to me!!!... Anyways.. Just day dreaming... Anyone else out there that would pay $150+ for a REALLY nuice, powerful, .22 cal hunting/tactical and modern Revolver?? I think its one of my fdream guns personally... Rock on !

I bought one of these not too long ago and your comments about it are spot on..found it to be very accurate at reasonable airgun ranges and it is fun to shoot. I had the older version of this gun; the '3576' version the 'Vigilante' is basically the same just updated a bit with the barrel shroud and picatinny rails. I gave my older 3576 to my daughter to practice handgun shooting safely in her back yard. The 3576/Vigilante series CO2 airguns in my opinion are a great value.

Great job, as usual bro Kenny! I've had one of these for two years now and just like ya said, very accurate @ 12 yards. I use the 7.4 grn. crosman destroyers. Great for when ya have to finish off a squirrel @ close range. A little loud for my yard, using pellets. Though I've found that bb's are quieter, I'd much rather preserve my rifled barrel using the pellets.

Hello Kenny. I took your recommendation from your video & purchased the Crosman Vigilante. It did take around 80 or so shots until it really got accurate - you were right! i initially bought the package with the holster, haven't fired it yet, got 120 CO2 powerlets and even bought a bare vigilante after that, so i have 2 :)

Most pellet pistols aren't as powerful when brand new but after around 2-3 C02's they are actually more powerful. I've had my crossman 357 for 3 years and it fires up to 477 fps. I use regular hair clipper oil instead of manufactured oil. Maybe that's the secret🤔

I don't know what kind of raccoon you have but down here near the Eglin reservation in Florida we have 20 lb raccoons that look like small bears! It might scare them but it won't kill them. It might even make them mad. LOL. My dog won't get too close to them for sure. I like your video though. Thanks.

I just got a crossman vigilante pistol and tried two different pellets through it. Results: GAMO silent cat heavy weight .177cal 10.5gr Many would not fire out of the gun. They would get stuck in the clip/mag and I had to push them out using a small nail. Don't buy for this gun!! The next pellet I tried was the CROSSMAN premier hollow point .177cal 7.9gr I fired 140 pellets without any problems.

This guns so beautiful ..I'm getting this wish that made a 22.cal version tho ...

You should NOT use this gun or any type of air gun to “scare” any animal. It will wound the animal and it will then run off injured and suffer in a lot of pain and probably die of infection. Its totally irresponsible. If you want to scare an animal the only type of gun you should use is an airsoft gun, and even then not close up.

finally i get the vigilante , i have couple question about the gun, this model should mount a rifled barrel but when i try to watch by the muzzle hole i just see a normal smooth barrel?? !!should i worry? second question the steel barrel slightly move upward and forward when pushed by the muzzle, look like the barrel its not perfectly seal with the gun it is normal on this model??

i love this gun! it has the least power, of my guns, but very accurate (in single action). my most used gun, for my indoor target! i only shoot pellets with this one though, as to not destroy my riffled barrel, with the steel bbs. i have the crosman c-11, for my bb pistol.

This is one of my favorite co2 pistols, along with the Crosman 3576 which is essentially the same thing. Mine shoots 7.6 grain pellets at 460 fps.

What reflex sight brand are you using and how much? Thanks in advance

Hey i have a fix for the slippery plastic handle..... Buy black "tool dip" in the aerosol can..... Spray some in a dixie cup and with a fine brush paint over just the texture on the plastic handle plates. You use the aerosol because it thinnet. A second coat doesnt hurt.... Now it feels like rubber. Also i used white nail polish for the sights

love your vid. i'm in the process of tuning a Walther CP Sport I oiled the Trigger assy. took apart the Valve and enlarged the vent holes and added another 10 grains of weight to the hammer and also oiled the valve gasket. I'm also going to use RWS Hyper Max alloy pellets 5.2 grains. Among the three Walther's the PQQ and the CP99 the Sport is the most Powerful in FPS.

Hi, im from Thailand and im going to buy the crosman vigilante, i really need to ask you a question , even the manual said that its possible to use BB steel i really afraid that will damage the barrel rifle.. do you think should avoid to use bbs and use just pellet to avoid any damage?

you don't want to scare a raccoon away and injure them, that's cruel. a .177 at 440 fps will only kill with a good head shot. for $100, you can make a crosman 1322 with an 18 inch barrel with fiber optic sights that will easily double the impact energy using a .22 pellet, with a 20 inch sight radius, it is more accurate than your optic sight.

Ken, based on your and other's comments on the Vigilante, I purchased one. What a let down. I have an older Crossman 38T model. It's all metal and is heaver than the Vigilante. It served me well for meany years, but the valve started leaking and Crossman no longer has parts, so I bought the Vigilante. Yes, if you put the CO2 cylinder in it and load the pellet wheel, it will go pop and the pellet will come out of the barrel. After firing a dozen shots into paper, I looked at the pellets under a magnifying class only to see that the pellets are smashed in on one side. Using some tape, I secured the pellet wheel in place after pulling and holding the trigger. Then opened the gun and looked down the barrel to see that the wheel does not line up with the barrel. Not good. After disassembling the barrel and looking at how it was held in place, I found that by removing some of the plastic that locates the barrel, I was able to get the barrel aligned up with the pellet wheel. So while this is a rather inexpensive pellet gun, Crossman could have done better. I can't recommend this to anyone.
