Thanks so much for your excellent tutorial! My 11 year old has sewn two of these bags completely ON HER OWN using your outstanding instructions and demonstration! She is even entering one into a 4-H competition tomorrow! :)
I love your videos and would like to say a HUGE thank you for taking your time in explaining things. How kind of you do make FREE videos to help other sewests. Please keep up with these videos.
I used your bionic bag tutorials - absolutely great detail and many good tips. Especially the tute about cutting 1/4" off the interior lining to get the exterior and interior to lie flat when sewing. I will use this tutorial with my 4 granddaughters - who all sew - when they visit in a few weeks. I will precut the fabrics and I am sure they will enjoy watching this and sewing the bags. I am so glad I found out about you on RU-vid.
Omg I am so glad you take the time to show and explain everything. Beginners need that. Not everyone wants to go a hundred miles an hour. I have been trying to make a little bag like this for a long time. Your video was the best! My bag turned out very nice. I am going to make a few more for gifts. Thank you for your time.
Thanks so much ....you always make your projects look easy and not scary for a beginner. I have purchased some of your patterns and very great full. I hope you start teaching us again soon. Wonderful teacher. 🤗
Thank you for taking the time to do this tutorial. I have made quite a few bags so most of the tutorial I understood but for the beginner this is was excellent as you go slow and explain all the steps.
Oh my goodness this was so helpful I was making side zipper bags a little bigger then this but could not for life of me figure out how to in case all the raw edges. most of my bags open from the top so this was sooo sooo helpful thank you so much!!!
I am just learning to make zipper pouches and wanted to make a shoulder pouch. I was just ready to give up because the videos here were either to fast or not simple enough for what i was wanting to start with. Thank you so much I will get started.
Thank you so much for your immediate reply! I'll will review the tutorial carefully... especially the lining parts.... I'll let you know what happens :)
I Love the way you sandwich everything together so the only seam you have to deal with is that small section of lining once the bag is turned. It's like magic! :) Thanks for the tutorial. I always come back to see how it's done, since I can never remember how. lol
Actually didn't agree at all with the lady talking about you being long winded, how rude!!! I loved the video and thought it was very easy to follow and understand. I usually have to do a lot of ripping out when watching the videos and didn't have to with this one, THANK YOU!! Keep great work.
I love the way you did your zipper tabs; however, since you switched purses I didn't see how you sewed the zipper on the side seams. Do your tabs show on the front!? I love that finished look!
The 3/4 inch tabs are measured so that the whole zipper piece (zipper and tabs) are the same width as the main and lining fabrics of the bag. You could, of course, leave them as is and center your zipper then trim off the excess tabs after sewing to the bag.
Hi ! I really enjoy your tutorials ! I think one that I had been watching has been deleted and so sorry to see that. It was a Tutorial for a Bionic Gear Bag....it was WONDERFUL. I am hoping you will be able to post it again or would love for you to email it to me if at all possible....the pattern for that bag is so long and confusing at times and you tutorial gave so many wonderful tips and was so understandable !!!! Again....LOVE your tutorials !!! K. Taylor
Thanks. I have deleted the videos and are no longer available. Sally is utterly rude to her customers and refuses to refund one of her previous admins of her Facebook group. Ethically I cannot promote her products or be associated in any way with her due to her unprofessional behaviour. Thanks for your understanding. I believe there are new videos on RU-vid and they are made by a lady from the UK. Good luck with your sewing. :-)
Thanks again for this wonderful tutorial! I got it now! I've made approximately 15 or more bags since I contacted you the fist time... I make mine a little bigger to fit large wallets... the finished product is approx. 10.5 height X 7.5 width. Your tutorials are grrrreat! Will you making more tutorials in the near future?
Actually I do! Are you familiar with Swoon patterns? Betty Bowler bag? It's like a bowling bag style large purse or travel bag... Welllll I purchased the pattern... There are instructions that come with the pattern... pretty clear. This is the first pattern I've ever bought... I've made all of the patterns I have from tutorials I've watched... I'm more of a visual learner soooo I've been looking for a video tutorial and no such luck :( I found something similar but still would like to see a video tutorial before I start it. The Swoon sewing group will help, but again it would be nice to see someone make it. I've made many totes with and without zippers, make up bags, purses but still would like to see it... Please let me know if you're willing to try it...
I don't have that pattern, but I'm familiar with Swoon patterns. I have requested permission and will let you know when I receive a response. Thanks for the suggestion.
I'm confused ;/ At the end you show 1 of the pieces of lining attached.... Then you attached the second one.... I can't find when you attach the first lining piece... Hummmm
+lamirada90638 Thank you for your question. There are 3 parts to the lining of this bag. The first two are the front lining pieces, which are attached to either side of the zipper (shown at 16:03 and 17:31 minute marks). The third one is the back lining and this is shown at the 24:13 minute mark. Let me know if you are still having issues.
Thank you and you explained very clearly. I like how detailed you were with every step. Its a cute bag. I like the fabric of the second bag. Where did you buy the fabric at?
+76jmm You're welcome! I purchased the fabric from the novelty section of my local quilt store. The selvedge says 'Timeless Treasures Fabrics, Inc Patt #GAIL-C 2112'
+lamirada90638 I do sell bags, but I haven't made any of these to sell. I have an Etsy shop, but don't currently have any listings. You can contact me via the Etsy shop if you are interested.... www.etsy.com/shop/BirdcageandThread
you making a CROSSBODY bag assembly, HARDER than it should be, you might want to watch other video's to see how they do it. I ended up throwing away the directions away, because it ended up to complicated...
