THE MOST UNDERRATED BAND IN HISTORY!!!!! GOD KNOWS THEY DESERVE THE ROCK&ROLL HALL OF FAME!! NOT SURE WHERE PEOPLE MISSED ON CCR, is SO UNDERRATED AND MISSED ITS SO GROSSLY MISSED!!!!!!!
The 1st song my wife and I danced to as a married couple! That's what we still feel like 12 years later, thankful for Cody and the guys for great music to bind people together!
My first concert I ever went to was CCR, I got to go with my sister in 2005. This was her favorite song of all time. She passed away two years later at only 21 years old, and 16 years later I still feel her all around me whenever I play this song. It still brings me to tears all these years later. I hope they know how important to all of us the music that they made is, and all the memories we as fans associate with their music. 🖤
Im so sorry. If not for XM radio, I would have never heard of these guys..but the music gods can be benevolent. First three songs I heard after buying it was CCR "Fightin For", Mickey and the Motorcars "Rock Springs to Cheyenne" and Reckless Kelly "Nobody's Girl". I got angry--because commerical radio kept this music from us andI learned why-because it is superior to the shit they put out in Nashville. I miss CCR. If you look, there are almost 6 million views. For an unknown band supposedly, people know now. And I gotta say, the number of beautiful women at their shows was amazing. Cody is a great guy just to listen to talk about music with Jason Boland, Randy Rogers, Mike McClure and the rest.
They were not country. They were at most, Southern Rock or Alt-Country. They were a 100% straight up Rock Band that Nashville tried to pigeon hole into being a country band.
I got to watch them absolutely tear the roof off the then called reliant stadium "NRG" now at Rodeo Houston! It was one of the best line ups ever! Ragweed, Robert Earl Keen, Pat Green, and Jack Ingram just to name a few! No line up sonce has come close!
I always had lots of love & respect for these boys..... I remember when Cody used to hang out up at the pool hall at the bowling alley in Yukon, OK where my bro Kenny Swift worked when they were just kids. And Nathan Cross’s little Brother Grady. Many many years ago, great times. I’m IN AWE of what these guys have done, LOVE their music, and think it’s incredible that they reached Official Rockstar Status no matter the exact type of music- just AWESOME !!!!
Dammit that's good music! I can't count the times I've been a thousand miles from the one I loved and heard the telephone ring at night just to hear a dial tone. I thought I was the only one to do that. This is music from the heart!
I'm only 16 but this song has so much nostalgia and tone. I still love it in 2021 just as much as I did listening to it in my dads old red truck when I was a kid
My dad would always play this song on the long trips up to his house. I still remember this song playing just after the sun disappeared. I always get this somber nostalgia from this song. Love you dad.
+hoopsfreak5 it was amazing. Always so many Texas county concerts. I guess they've all gotten big now I don't see as many anymore. It was amazing. Def a highlight of my life for sure
I've seen them live so many times! Partied with them a few times, This is the ULTIMATE Cross for me!! Reminds me of my husband who passed in 2005.....Miss you Lil'' Jerry.
Cody Canada still plays all around with his new band, the Departed (same bass player as CCR) !!! I’m originally from Texas but caught him live in Brooklyn about 3 months ago. Just as good as when I saw them back in 2008!
I just Love their sound! ❤❤❤ There's a lot of fans, so let's keep the love alive even tho they moved on. Maybe catch them at the bar in Yukon, Oklahoma someday.
Back when my wife and i were dating, we were on a split, and we decided to try to talk out our issues. So we do what we always did, we went to the causeway and i put on some Pandora on my phone for background noise. And low and behold this song came on, and at that moment, we realized we are meant to be together. And the rest as they say is in the history books. Been married 3 years now, we've been in each others lives for 6.

I had a buddy big Credence Clearwater Revival fan. I've day to mess with him I told her had to hear the newest CCR song and played him this. It wasn't long before he was like "who is this", and I'm just like CCR man, Cross Canadian Ragweed, who else would it be. It took him about week before he talked to me again lol. Worth it.
Man.. so many memories. Their shows were the best moments of my life. Red dirt fans from Illinois will always be somr of the greatest friends I've ever met.
I'm from tx but I moved to CA for work and my friends tried to play Florida Georgia Line. I obviously didn't let that happen and showed them this song and they loved it. Showing real music to one person at a time makes a difference in this sorry music culture we got goin today
We’re not trading mix tapes at truck stops. We are in the digital age how are people still listening to the Florida Georgia line crap and not knowing about red dirt.
Y’all I feel honored to be named after this song. “Talked about Savannah” and he performed at stillwater in October. He was drunk lmao. I was about 15ft away from him
I agree. Too bad they "departed". IMO they are the best Texas country band. I miss the old days of all the Texas country concerts around Eli young, them, randy Rogers, etc etc.
I couldn't agree more with you and I just found these guys the other night and I'm still wondering where the Hell I've been ! This band is so frickin good and Cody can sing the Frickin Library ! Hell with a phone book 😂
Cody Canada, Randy Ragsdale and Grady Cross. 3 men that were ahead of their time in the red dirt scene. If these guys stayed together they would still be playing sold out shows. So glad I was in college in Stillwater, Ok during CCR’s top times!
these guys are great! brings back the good old style! the new music apsolutly sucks! this is real music right here! they actually are singing and not lip singing!!!!!!!
Was sitting at a table with Cody and our mutual friend Roy H at a Fayetteville, AR bar called Dave’s probably 20 years ago. Kept slamming Yeager shots and laughing out butts off, just shooting the bull before they went on. I told Cody how badass it would be to hear them cover Hey Hey, My My, as they had it on a live CD. He laughed and said, “man, I’m drunk as sh@t, not sure if I can remember it, but we’ll give it a try”…. They crushed it. And everything else that night. Good times.
