In this video I address the two things that I have found need to be taken care of on the Cross RC FR4 Demon RTR. Total cost $10. I also answer a question that I get asked by viewers frequently. bullgearrc@gmail.com
Volt up gear down . You could still run 3 or 4s and go extremely slow . 2s just doesn’t seem to give what you need . I run a 45t with 9/56 gearing on 3s slow and tons of torque !
I love my fr4 rtr swapped over to all metal axles metal bumpers stretched the wheelbase the cross platform can easily be molded to work with the others parts
Thank you so much for the tip on the drive shafts,I bought a set of aftermarket shafts, they did the same thing,I am right now putting the heat shrink on them👍👍getting ugly😃
Great job Uncle Lee !👍 Plus Cross Rc is the only one that you can take a hard body from any model and put it on one that was lexan with out modifying and lexan to hard body if you dont want to run a hard body .
Seriously diggin this Cross RC rig, except the blue I hate blue with a passion haha. But all needling aside, if I could afford one I'd defnitely pull the trigger on an FR4 Demon. I much prefer kits to build my rig but I'd pick up an RTR if I had the bones. Been watching your videos on this truck & really grooving on the rig now, I don't trust that many opinions but I do your opinions & would pick this up I think even befre a Gen 8 Scout, I just ain't so certain the portal diffs, or lack there of, matter all that much too me. Of course I had to share this video in my Tips & Tricks Playlist, excellent tip for keeping the driveshaft pins in place. As ya'll said, it ain't no big thing to do but once a fella loses that pin it isn't like two wheel drive on a crawler is very useful yeah, why not fix it before having to pull out a metal detector to find the pin in the dirt haha. And as you know I dislike plastic, so yeah, the steering servo horn is a must to change out for a metal one. Wicked advice & thanks for sharing your expertise Brother, another great video!!
yeah that is a great idea for the drive shafts but it will definitely depend on the driver, if it lasts or not, only because of the material. When dragging, the metal one got lost so I would think it would simply wear and tear the plastic, then? same issue, lost pin. .. I have tried this. lol ... all of it is looking good bud, and changing from plastic on the steering horn? a must.. :P ... now. Which is the best starter? THAT, is a tough question.. but I am with you on slowing it down, high Turn motor, more torque . a little more scale ... ;) another great video bud and I agree I really like the look of this rig
I agree, shrink wrap will wear down and need to be replaced, but that extra layer of protection can't hurt, and it will be easy to see when it is getting time to put some new in its place.
