Great video! I have been using bobbins for over 40 years, that was how I was taught as well. Recently I have purchased some floss drops for the overdyed flosses, it is working so far. Thanks for your video.

Museum Stitcher does a video on her storage method using Atom Heart Floss Drops. I had just converted to Annie’s Keepers else I would’ve used those Atom Hearts for sure. Best of both worlds. Both a bobbin and floss drop. Thx for the video.

Anchor and DMC are equivalent in quality. Anchor is readily available in the UK, I prefer the colours. I buy mainly second hand.

Thanks for a good video. I recently retuned to cross stitch after a 25 year break. I’ve tried drops and bags, but find that I prefer bobbins for DMC and bags for fancy floss. I appreciate your judgment-free review, and the encouragement to do what works best for each stitcher.

Thank you for this video. The majority of my floss I have on bobbins. Some of my projects I have the floss in floss bags or just the small snack bags. I definitely need to get better organized with my floss and stop buying new floss for each project.

Thank you so much for this. I’m switching to bobbins specifically because it seems to be easier to see the floss and find it more quickly than bags on rings. Wonderful discussion of the various methods and inventorying.

Thank you so much ❤️ you'll love how much easier bobbins are for that, it's one of my favourite things about them (and the main reason I'm second-guessing my current thoughts of maybe moving to floss drops). You'll find the floss in the little tabs that holds the ends down can get quite bulky. When wrapping my thread around the bobbins I just use the next piece to secure the ends until I get to the top length of floss (the one I will work with) and the one immediately under it (the one that would otherwise come loose when I take my working length off to separate strands). Then when I have short pieces to add back to the bobbin after stitching I secure the ends in the tabs too. It keeps the bulk right down so it's tidy

@@magnolianestdesigns That sounds terrific. I’ve been wrapping the entire length of thread on the bobbin but I think pre cutting it into 4 pieces makes so much sense! Anything to not waste the end bits.
