thanks for the suggestions everyone. i had already gotten everything ready before i noticed the problem. they sent me a 190x190 canvas with a 170x170 chart. different color codes, different number of colors, etc. i finally got a refund. i was skeptical about this one anyway as it doesn’t look like it will turn out very clear. i’ll just be saving the supplies for a different project.
@@thegratefulthread2276 I have noticed a lot of the stamped cross stitch are stolen haeds. They also only show the picture, not what piece will look like when it's finished. I gave up. I have seen nice ones that turn out well, but it feels like Russian roulette.
I believe the paper patterns/guides always have different numbers and symbols. For example I'd check the paper and see if 15 is really 15 or in fact 28...if that makes sense. Yes..confusing. I always cross reference because it's confusing indeed.
I hope they resolve this issue for you. :) keep us posted. On a side note, such short threads would drive me nuts 😂 I hate threading and casting on and off lol I tend to pre cut my skeins into 8 lengths, as it halves easy when cutting it. Good luck!
Just use DMC from your stash or the kit close to the colors that are listed on the canvas. Essentially this is a 14 vs 11 count print on the paper included.
Joy Sunday is the same. It can be very confusing between the paper pattern to the actual colours and symbols on the canvas. I don't understand why they do it that way. It slows me down when I see a symbol on the canvas I can't quite make out and look for it on the paper pattern. I am working on Ambilight. It has several symbols/colours on the canvas that are just too similar. I have to then refer to the paper pattern. Oh well. It's coming along marvelously.
My only other suggestion is to try to match the numbers on the canvas with the Dmc numbers on the canvas key. Then put them in the correct number order for the canvas and forget the paper chart
thank you for your input! i think i might try to go off the key on the canvas like you suggested. unfortunately, it’s extremely blurry and cut off along the edge but i’ll see if i can decipher it. this one might just be a lost cause 🤦♀️
I think you did the smart thing and got a refund. Anything else would be a headache. Maybe when you have enough experience to feel reaiiy brave you could make your own version.
I just notised your cannel, is looks good. But I have to ask why do you cut the tread so short... I think you Will loose a lot off tread on the start and ending. About the canwas, I think that it is so small for al the details, but I would like to se you stiching on it.
It’s hard enough to not lose track with cross stitch, it’s gonna be a nightmare keeping it all straight and looking at the front of the kit it seems like it might be a product from China. I vote for circular file if you can’t reach anyone and just chalk it up to experience.
Well that is really weird. I’d ask for a refund. If you’re not able to return it or get a refund personally, I would just abandon it. I don’t have that kind of time.
Are the DMC numbers printed on the side of the canvas? Which does it match? Hopefully the canvas has different DMC numbers so you can match through that. I should have read the comments. LOL, that was already suggested.
Try to follow the symbols on the paper in a square of five or 4 small squares and check the results if it’s ok than continue if it’s not try to contact the supplier
that’s not the problem. the cloth pattern is 190x190 with 30 colors and the paper pattern is 170x170 with 29 colors. they sent me the wrong paper chart. i got a refund
