I've been feeling very stressed about replacing the roof on my garage today. I found Greg's video on installing "roll roofing" from 5 years ago and watched it about 5x. I've watched a ton of videos over the past few days and Its the only video that calmed my nerves and made me feel like I can do this. I scrolled through his page after watching his video again and realized he passed away in May and now I'm crying. If his family or friends check on this account, I want them to know that Greg made my day and seemed like such a kind person.
To those who didn't know. Neither I have known. This kind guy had passed away in may... Rest In Peace Greg Zanis. I never found a channel like this. With such a greatful and kindhearted man. I Will miss Him.. Hope you all will too.
I didn't have the heart to turn the the sound on but I am guessing he passed. I saw the story about the cars lining up to drive by and thank him some time ago. Years back, I ran across his page and I am not sure if it was scrapping... it may have been dumpster diving. Well, wait, there was that video when he built the attachment to that one house. Many people were critical of the work, but cant recall what I wrote. So, for some time with the dumpsters, selling clothes in the driveway, make-shift repairs etc., I didn't take him seriously and thought he was a bit goofy, to be blunt. Time passed and I ran across his videos about the crosses and I was was like... what it this? Did the survivors even want him to make the crosses? Then there was a story on television, I think, and it seemed like something bigger. My admiration increased. There was also the story about his daughter passing and that added more of a human caring element to the man. Finally, when I saw the outpouring of love for him with all the cars driving by to thank him, I completely gained tons of respect for him. I have been wondering if he passed. The fact he is no longer out there makes me sad. The can do attitude about everything and operating at warp speed will be missed. He will be missed by me. Also, never judge a person based on one impression. How a person acts... if it is silly, all over the place, or never stopping, doesn't provide a porthole into the person.
Similar to Crystal, below, I came across Greg's floor sanding video which I found to be truly inspirational (I'm still to use my new belt sander on the floors), only to learn that he had passed away. I will take my time and go through his other videos now. Chris, your Dad was a top, dedicated, peace loving bloke with a Huge Heart, and I honour him. I am sorry for your family's loss. All the very best for the future. Keep the videos coming mate, your Dad would like that I think. All the very best. Greg, from downunder, New Zealand.
This guy was great. Gone too soon. I was sitting around thinking about how much crap most of these videos are nowadays. I started to think about the good videos I've seen and remembered about the dream car. I'm so glad I found the channel again. I know he's gone now but I'm glad his memory will live on what a great guy.
@@BGTech1 i know. He just wanted to make money. I don't know him but he lives in Aurora, which is like 50 minutes away from me, but still great dude. He willfully traveled thousands of miles to help out grieving families. Hopefully his son will continue on the legacy!
