You know them, you love them, they make great hunting optics and entry-level rifle toppers. But while the Diamondback® may offer better optics overall, find out when it might be a smarter decision to shoot with a Crossfire® II.

I don’t know how vortex is able to sell such high quality optics at their unbelievably low prices and manage to stay in business but I sure am glad they do. Their $200 scopes are better than their competitors $700-$1,000 offerings and their high end scopes are unrivaled. Plus their warranty is everything that they say it is. I dropped a rifle out of a tree stand and it landed on a rock with the scope taking the entire impact. It actually still held point of aim and worked fine after the fall but I could hear something rattling around inside so I didn’t trust it not to fail later on while I was in the middle of a hunt. Sent it in to them and a week or so later a new one arrived, no questions asked.

I am getting the diamondback for my 22 Cz 457 I looked through this scope and it is very clear and eye relief isn’t a big deal on my 22 as long as the scope is set right on the receiver and this scope is a $100.00 dollar’s cheaper than the Leupold freedom with the no bs warranty I think it’s best choice for a quality 22 scope

hello, i was looking at the diamondback 3.5 by 10 by 50 to put on my 375h&h. I like the way the light came in through the scope. but will it handle the little kick from the 375 and is the 3.5 by 10 by 50 to big or to small. i only shoot around 250 to 300 yards with it.

Which would you recommend for a 6.5 Creedmoor AR? I have the Diamondback on my muzzleloader and it's great. But not sure which is going to be better on the AR platform. I probably won't do much shooting over 300 yards as there are no ranges close to me farther than that.

@curtmcbee2238
@curtmcbee2238 3 года назад
Yes. Vortex’s warranty is no joke. It’s pretty much no questions asked. Doesn’t matter where you got it, how you got it, or how it broke. As long as you’ve physically got the scope to send in (or the majority of the scope if it is in pieces) and you didn’t intentionally damage it you just go to their website, fill out a form, and send it in with the scope. Even if you got it secondhand or third hand or whatever they’ll warranty it.

what is the differense on the Crossfire II 2-7x32 rimfire vs Crossfire II 2-7x32 riflescope i know the paralax is 50 yards on the rimfire but anything other than that? will the rimfire version hold up to the recoil of a centerfire rifle?
@VortexOpticsUSA
@VortexOpticsUSA 3 года назад
The only difference is that fixed parallax setting. The Rimfire model has it set at 50 yards where as the Crossfire II 2-7x32 is set at 100 yards. Both will hold up on a centerfire rifle just fine.

I just purchased a tikka ultralight .308 and a ruger american compact .243 and still waiting on the 10 days. I bought the crossfire ii 6-18x44. Which of the rifles would that scope be more suited for? I'm just getting into hunting and assumed getting a higher zoom scope would be better.
@VortexOpticsUSA
@VortexOpticsUSA 3 года назад
That is a great question - that optic would be perfect on either of those setups. In regards to magnification, it truly depends on the type of hunting you do. In some areas like in the Midwest out East less magnification is better in the woods as it gives you a wider field of view. For longer range hunting, more magnification could be beneficial.

@VortexOpticsUSA

All of our optics are rated for air rifle use. Having an adjustable objective would extremely beneficial, so you are definitely looking in the right spot. Something like the Crossfire II 4-16x50 AO would be a great choice for your setup.

I am going to purchase one of these scopes (either Crossfire 4x12x44 or Diamondback 4x12x40) for my Tikka 7mm rem mag. I know the Crossfire eye relief is better but my question is the Crossfire tough enough for that rifle recoil? Thanks
@VortexOpticsUSA
@VortexOpticsUSA 3 года назад
Absolutely! Both of those optics are rated for magnum recoil. With any optic, it is just important to ensure you are using a good quality set of rings and the proper torque settings. We recommend 15-18 in/lbs with no Loctite or threadlocker.
@garygeddes5630
@garygeddes5630 3 года назад
@@VortexOpticsUSA great thanks for the fast reply! I don’t mind paying a little extra for the Diamondback but the extra eye relieve with the Crossfire should be better with the 7mm mag recoil. Looks like I’ll be buying the Crossfire today - the Vortex dealer will install the scope (torquing, bore sighting, etc) so the proper torque will be done.
@garygeddes5630
@garygeddes5630 3 года назад
@@VortexOpticsUSA another quick question - the only possible downside I’m reading to the Crossfire 4x12x44 is the magnification isn’t as clear after you go above 9 power. So should I just consider a 3x9x40 in either the Crossfire or Diamondback if the extra power doesn’t stay consistent? I’m also thinking the 3x9x40 will be slightly lighter and not as long. I’ll be using this rifle in NL and will be doing a lot of walking.
@VortexOpticsUSA
@VortexOpticsUSA 3 года назад
@@garygeddes5630 Right on - we appreciate the support, my friend! Let us know if you have any other questions come up.
@VortexOpticsUSA
@VortexOpticsUSA 3 года назад
@@garygeddes5630 I wouldn't hesitate to use either of those optics on your setup. With any optic, as you increase magnification the image quality will diminish slightly - this has to do with the physics of optics. Both of those would be just fine using them towards the upper part of the magnification range. If this is a concern, check out the Crossfire II 4-12x40 AO which has an adjustable objective which will allow you to adjust parallax and focus the image.

@@jimmylim5015 Totally get where you are coming from! However, there is no way for us to know whether you're planning to put on optic on a Remington 700, an AR platform, a lever action, what caliber, etc. Each setup is going to be very specific in regards to what is needed to mount the optic. Think of it like arrows for archery hunting.
