Juan Doe I don't think Rich is at the same level as the top athletes anymore... the sport has evolved a lot, plus he is older and a dad, so he probably has bigger priorities than training all day long as he used to. He's already won the games 4 times, whats the point of even competing as individual again?

My only argument is that it would be dumb if they were training for the Olympics, but they are training for reps and the cardio and strength. I think their form held fine using that "light" weight. The problem is when new cross fit people try aiming for the reps and speed, but mess up the form. I am new to crossfit, but will not make this mistake. It really depends on both the individual and the culture of the crossfit gym you belong to.

I think fraser just went too light too many times on the clean and jerk. He should've rested more and just hit bigger numbers. He let himself get caught in a game against the clock.

Francisco Méndez Grajales you clearly know nothing about crossfit and are just another guy that hates. If they complete an incorrect rep its not counted so its the same! Theres a level of form that they need to complete the reps involved! If you were to compete at their level you would drop in form too. They’re machines. Nothing wrong with their form.

Just because theres one form of pullups, why cant there be more ways than one to perform the exercise?? Just embrace it, its not hurting anyones feelings by their activity to have different exercises for their events!

In the feet to bar you can see rich putting a swing into the exercise giving his core a quick Break and allowing his momentum to help on the come up. where Matt comes to a dead hang with no momentum. Savy vet. Gotta love the roid comments. You either have that mentality and drive in you or you don’t. Tons of ppl on roids who wouldn’t be able to finish one of their daily workouts. Mental and physical strength here.

Rich has always been in Matt’s head.... Now Matt is able to focus on just working out and with no Rich to mess with him.. I will say Matt’s size and improvement are either dope or the dude found a way to really tape into his bodies abilities like never before.

I don't know much about this sport, but it seems like on the toe-to-bar move, Froning only goes about 85-90% of the way and Fraser pretty much touches his toes on the bar, which I would think is a huge benefit to Froning...? At least until the set at 4:50, when Fraser appears to not curl up as high either, but the damage would already be done from the extra expenditure of energy while fresh...

jim hughes It’s RX or Scaled as there weight classes. RX is hitting a top weight on barbell work and more complex movements and Scaled is lower complex movements and lower weights (normally what most can hit) but you do have the option of One Rep Max in both scaled and RX so always a chance of hitting a heavy weight

I feel like lifting against the time cap was poor programming, they should've given each athlete 5 lifts and ten minutes to complete them. Fraser looked dangerous on that last lift and I think it was purely due to him being rushed!

Totally feel that too, and it's true; Crossfit as it is, comes already flawed in the programming. It really makes no sense to use this and not something similar as you've said. But go try and tell people that LOVE crossfit how dumb the programs are... You'll get all sorts of excuses, case in point the two comments right above mine. Also that's part of why many people think bad of Crossfit, among other things.

@@AFatWhiteShark go try a couple of The workouts in a class. I’ve had mixed opinions on it too coming from a body building style training before. CrossFit training is hard. The people are beasts. Just go try it and the people that love it generally love it in my experience because of the randomness aspect. I personally like the style of training because I can go off feel. I program my own workouts (I’m not trying to be huge or jacked like I was when body building I’m just trying to enjoy the training more) when I was training to look good I found out quickly that the style my friend used to train me with was fun but extremely repetitive. CrossFit fixes that repetitive nature.

@@anthonyparker3713 Nice of you to assume i've never tried crossfit. Since you've laid down your points let me do the same. This is exactly whats wrong with Crossfit; Confusing what is considered volume movements and programming them for endurance ( using the Crossfit games as example, because i've seen great crossfit gyms that know how to program a nice flowing workout) No one shits on Crossfit, for simply being Crossfit; they shit on ridiculous "fucktard" programming and execution... Or rather, lack thereof in the case of the latter But again, when done right, it's really great in relation of keeping strength training and cardio at your peak. It works great for Law Enforcement, Firefighters, Military, etc... I don't enjoy bodybuilding also, i come from a Olympic Weighlifting background, i teach novice lifters the Snatch and Clean movements, and thanks to this i did teach in 4 crossfit gyms to make money for Uni, and that's my biggest problem with it. Doing volume work for time. There's a video of Fronning vs Khalipa where they're doing the same workout here, where both athletes are at a point of exhaustion, at a brink of passing out, where does that transfers to a great programming ? (not a different sight from what we see here). I could be even ignorant and talk about the execution of some movements, like the muscle'ups, the pull up's, and the cleans, but that would be cherry picking, and all of it comes from the programming, "for time"... And again that's what i mostly disagree with. We all have different opnions about different topics, and if crossfit does wonders for you, great to hear. But don't be ignorant towards a different group just because they're making good points against what you enjoy. Because most of those people that you assume are "bodybuilders" that don't know much. Usually are people that come from other modalities that are incorporated into Crossfit itself.

It's about making it easier to pull your lower body up. Therefore he's using the pull with some of tha Biceps and front delt, kinda of a inverted deadlift with the same hold. Not acting like a know all, probably you knew this already, just taking part of the topic, cheers Bro.
