Along with my sister and me, my wife saw the Mississippi River for the first time while we were touring the "other Colonial America" at Ste. Genevieve, Missouri last month.
What fun crossing the Muddy Mississippi on a ferry without the car around us! The pilot was young, enthusiastic and charming. It's $2 per head each way, and it was a gorgeous late summer day. Try it sometime when you're in Ste. Genevieve and environs! It's also a good way to get from MO to southern IL when one needs to!
