You lucky if they did not catch you on the beach as it is illegal to drive on the beach unless launching a boat. In terms of bribes don't pay just don't seem in a hurry they will let you go. Even a cold drink just increases the problem. Great video , so thanks for sharing.

Please update your opinion of the grenadier when you have time after completion. I am interested in buying one.
