🇮🇳 Just across from the Indian smuggler's town of Moreh is Myanmar ( Burma ). I decided to walk across the border and see what life was like on the other side. Was it the same? Was it different? Watch and find out...
I would not be surprised if one day you'll simply vanish. But you are living your life to the max and you obviously enjoy every minute as best you can! Respect!
Well, he won't disappear in Myanmar that's for sure, it's one of the safest countries to travel to. Crime against foreigners is basically non-existent.
@@mosipd How do you know that? Have you analysed the news? Do you have any statistics to support your claim? Maybe you heard it from a few people who stood there for a few days? You read it on the internet? Have you deeply researched this topic? Maybe you rarely heard of it so you're saying crime against foreigners is non-existent? Your gut told you this? Just because you haven't heard of it or it didn't happen to you, doesn't mean it doesn't happen to (a lot of) other people. Sorry if i was a bit invasive, but I am really fed up with people talking out of their asses without any hard evidence to support their thoughts.
this guy legit just wanders around the most desolate places and finds things and stuff. My ass gets off the wrong stop on the train in the UK and I start panicking not knowing how to get back home.
I really enjoy watching your videos. I live in a nursing home in Milford,, Nowhere Nebraska. And youre videos help me deal with the isolation here. Спасиба Балд.
The beautiful power of the internet. Amazing that no matter what is happening in our lives and in the world we can explore and learn about any corner of the world. No matter how isolated our circumstances make us we can live through the eyes and learn from those in cultures much different than our own. I wish you kindness and solace during this time. I know COVID can be especially hard for those in nursing homes, hope these kinds of videos bring you happiness :).
Hello Mr. Bold, the old Japanese bridge you mentioned, collapsed long back. The bridge you saw was built post the break down. It was built by India and the roads are also built by border road organisation of India as a sign of Indo-Mayanmar diplomatic friendship.
@@NOU-iw3gb bro if you understand diplomacy you'll understand why the roads are made good out there. And moreover most of the road out here in India are constructed by private contractors who eventually end up corrupting the road scheme.
I'm Irish and I'd be lying if I said I haven't thought about packing up all my things and buying a one way ticket to Myanmar. It looks really nice and is unbelievably cheap. The heat would be an issue I'd get over...
Remember there was a time when he was living just like any other man and working feeling stuck in a cubicle not living to the fullest until life circumstances one day changed his mind. Therefore we could all live to the fullest if we just come to the realization and make that choice. So get out there and live and explore!
Yesterday human trafficker caught with 101 girls in Moreh. They were going to be sold in Thailand. One of the biggest human rescue operations in India.
@@hemasingh8033 A quick google would have been all you needed to do www.ifp.co.in/page/items/55914/police-rescue-101-trafficked-girls-including-40-nepalese-in-biggest-anti-human-trafficking-rescue-operations/
Thank you for this entertaining journey or adventure into Burma . I am a native of Myanmar and never been to that part of the country. The Chin tribe lives in that area. And you are right a lot of them are Christians. Manipur was the big battle field where the Allies turned back the Japanese attempt to invade India during WWII. A lot of soldiers on both side died there. I look forward to your adventure to Mandalay.
confidence comes with experience. this guy has stripped travel down to the basics and has confidence knowing he just has to find a bank, a bus station, maybe some food and he's not really on any set schedule. taking the time pressure out makes things much more relaxed.
You gotta walk like you're tough, I've been through a lot of sketchy places , Compton, South Central L.A, Watts, East L.A, Santana, Tepito in Mexico City, San Juan de Dios Guadalajara city at night,, you gotta pretend and look fearless man
BRO : Border Road Organisation Indian Government Undertaking for building roads in Border areas of India, this road was a friendship gesture from India for Myanmar...
@@adityakumar-ws5lx I imagined it was an acronym for something else, but it doesn't change the fact that it sounds really silly. And the misspell of the word welcome is just cringeworthy - how are indians so bad at english, considering they were an English colony for so long?
@@ionicafardefrica BRO is an abbreviation for a major Indian public sector organisation building and maintaining roads in the remote border areas. And it's not pronounced as bro but alphabetically. What's so silly about it?
I feel uncomfortable going to the grocery store. Let alone traveling to far away countries by myself and not knowing the language. Lmao. You are something else man. I look up to you
Well technically that was a city. And it changes the further away from the border you get. It's only clean because they needes to invest heavily there to mend breaking relations with India during the late 80s ans early 90s (although the realtions were never bad besides a brief period where they were neutral).
Some you should know Mr Bald...that road you're walking on was built by Indian govt as a goodwill gesture. Matter of fact, the total length built is 500km that's including the Billboard and the English language!!
@@knowledgeBoosterkb123 lol "a non serious concern like language" that's rich, you must most probly be a hindi speaking higher caste liberally enlightened logical indian Iam pretty sure about it.
9:14 In some regions of India you should be very careful on those walkings in the nature even at the edge of the road because there might be tigers lurking around.
The bridge at Moreh @ 7:30 (Indo Myanmar Friendship Bridge) was NOT built by the Japanese during WW2. It was constructed by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO is staffed by officers and troops drawn from the Indian Army's Corps of Engineers ) much later in the day.
As a guy who's also bald and bankrupt, I'm tempted to travel like you do. I doubt I could keep up the cheer and curiosity given inevitable setbacks and challenges of traveling. You DA MAN, brother
Every morning I wake up in the -40 C cold and before I head to work I look for your travel update to the places I would have never been able to see in my lifetime
Tattoo making is considered as a serious art in Burma big brother. They represent things a person has been through rather than random tattoos people get all over the world. It's as important as a gang sign . A manipauri guy made a free hand tattoo for me. There is so much to learn. And you have been a very good teacher. Keep that in mind. I know my comment will get lost among lakhs if your followers but it's for you
You literally have the most interesting Vlogs!! It's like I'm there with you discovering the world ☺️ Beautiful place and the squiggle is super cool hehe
As a Myanmar, I found this so interesting and funny to watch how he react to things he seen along the way. Specially, "squiggle squiggle squiggle " me me laugh so hard since I can read them but he can't. Never seen such a things someone holding camera around and crossing India-Myanmar border so interesting to see how things going down there. cuz we don't see that many often or never. And also I want to point out something that you said when you see tattoo on kids hand, that probably and likely to be fake like a sticker. Myanmar parents won't allow you to have tattoos on you even your adult. They seen tattoos as only gangsters would have so but it changed nowadays. And last kids are not hard core in Myanmar, they are under control by their parents and idk why they ask you money or rather they said "many" when you ask them "You speak squiggle?". All in all, pretty nice country if you ask me. People are nice and kind as you can see they're willing to help even they don't speak English and opposite of how world media are making us look like. Only thing I don't like is Gov.
I've always wanted to ask a Burmese/Myanmarese their opinion on An Sang Suu Kyi. Seems like you don't like? How much is she still influenced/controlled by the old order?
@@crs19191919 are you talking about BRO? Almost everything related to army and border stuff is abbreviated in English bcz most of these organisations were either established during British time...or just after independence
Wow Baldy, you went hiking from Moreh to Tamu that's quite far :D You could actually take a Tonga (Sort of Rickshaw 3 Wheeler) and ride to Tamu. Hats off once again for covering the uncovered part of India. You are just awesome :)
Just when I thought I've watched every one of Baldy's trips i always find one I haven't watched.. I love that your get the explore the cities, countries and borders that many of us including myself are so curious to visit but dont have the means to do so.. I very much appreciate your work brother.. Hopefully you're able to upload more once this bs virus scare is over..
The engagement to your fans is so refreshing to see, you truly are one of the best on RU-vid. Showing the world what India is really like with raw (mostly) uncut footage is why I subscribed. India here in Canada has a lot of stigma around it and showing how amazing/unique the country really is very entertaining. This Myanmar trip is very cool can't wait to see what happens next jai bhole ki
My most favorite channel. I have traveled around as you do but ,your sense humor and how you describe things made me hooked to your videos. You do a great job! from an Argentine born:-)
Pretty sure it was squiggle squiggle dot dot squiggle, jeez, Mr.B. Some free advice as well, when faced with a choice between squiggle and squiggle always go with squiggle. Thanks for sharing, bhai. Sat Sri Akaal!
The Burmese script is based in the dravidian language scripts of South India. Especially vattezhtu of Malayalam looks quite similar. Vattezhtu literally means round - writing.
You will be happy to know that I learned about your squiggles from an IIT professor of Linguistics at Guwahati, India. That is how I am here. Congratulations!
How did i ended up on the India- Burma border video ,when i remember clearly, i was watching a video of Moldova? I've must to fall asleep with the outoplay on!😂😂
This is some quality stuff, I'm hooked onto your travels in India and "Burma".. Have a safe and lovely time in Squiggle land! Love from Bangalore,India.
It's really strange for me because, for some reason, I was still under the impression that a corrupt and brutal military regime was still in control there. I'm relieved to learn, just now, that I was wrong! Happy and safe travels to you, Baldy!
@David Ward Just sad. It could happen anywhere, though, in ANY country. Here I am in the U.S., and we all saw what almost happened here a few weeks ago.
22:30 I love how everyone is hanging around the atm exit when you get your money., and of course you don't hide it at all and just hold it up in the air for everyone to see.. that is very smart.. really.
They were speaking Nepali. I can tell cause they said why are you laughing in Nepali. As a Nepali American I can identify the words that are being used by him.
I couldn't even find people speaking English in Metropolitan Tokyo and here we are on a border town in the middle of nowhere in India and they speak English
Well Japan was never a British colony, was it? In India, people learn English because 1) it gets you jobs 2) its serves as a common language you can use to speak with someone from any other part of the country
Hi mr.bald I'm from imphal and i came to moreh yesterday searching for but can't find you so i came back to imphal today.. I'm a huge fans of yours. Can we please meet up before you leave Manipur and also i can show you many exciting place in Manipur before you leave and also can stay at my place without wasting money
E Soulfry - "Leeches" is a little extreme and judgmental, don't you think? There's ALSO the possibility that people like Mr. B&B and are genuine in their kindness and want to be good hosts. In my travels I found people in this area are very warm and welcoming, it's Buddhist and most are genuine and seek nothing, even though they have very little. Assuming the worst in people projects waves of negative energy and says far more about you than them. It also makes for miserable travels.
@Elite Soulfly Leeches and handouts Really??? Where are you from? I'm a Manipuri and it is for a fact, extremely normal for us to host guests in our homes for free even if they were strangers as long as they don't seems to have negative vibes. We do not expect anything from guests in return for their stay not because we're stupid friendly, but it's a part of our culture to help if we're able. So i don't really see why this guy would try to 'leech' anything off of Mr Bald when he's probably his fav youtuber who happened to surprisingly visit his hometown which could've turned out to be a once in a lifetime experience for the fan. Your mentality is shameful.
I wish I had half the charisma, grasp on languages, and bravery that you have. You should have as many subs as Pewdiepie. You should try Cuba now that they have opened up a bit. A LOT of ingenuity in Cuba. Also, if you ever decide to go somewhere a little less "adventurous, (Oklahoma, lol! Quite a bit less sketchy, and probably not near as interesting to you), I'd love to buy you a drink and show you a few things. There is actually quite a large population of Burmese people in Tulsa that work in the same manufacturing plant I am contracted at.
@Rob Betting you've never been. If you have, probably went to places like New York or LA or Miami. Betting you don't have any idea what you're talking about, No OfFeNcE
@Rob As a citizen of the US I would hate for him to come here. In general American culture is pretty well-known worldwide. Friendly people, fast food, and California and New York. I am not saying the US is boring or anything but what makes his channel stand out from the rest is that he goes to places no one else does.
That kid with the tattoo 😲😨 Looks like you're in the middle of nowhere but, everyone is very nice... I like the "squiggle" words too!😁 This is going to be an interesting road trip, thanks for taking us along😚
Bald I really enjoy your videos in such countries. You do this so effortlessly and I can't imagine being a foreign country and walking around not knowing where you are going
Your vlogs are super entertaining. Let me say you have balls to walk so normal with a camera and ALONE!! You definitely enjoy those adventures. Nice job!
@@chrispbacon1997 Nah yangon is clean too. Especially after the new government (NLD) got power, the country has been developing better and the roads has been cleaner than a few decades ago.

I wouldn't compare a developing country from that of under developed country. Burma is a good country fighting for democracy but unfortunately the democracy is still under military regime.
Aung San Su Chi is the foreign minister. She is the de facto civilian govt head, but the real power is still with the military. It's not a democracy. It's a hybrid system where one third of the MPs are military appointees, serving officers.
