Malaria is a disease that has existed since at least 2700 BC and it has dramatically influenced human history. Though deaths due to malaria have decreased in the last ten years, close to 500,000 people worldwide - predominantly young children and pregnant women - die from malaria each year. A.P. Giannini Foundation Fellow (2020) Kassie Dantzler, PhD is studying the immune response to malaria which could enable development of novel malaria vaccines.
This presentation was made on January 22, 2021.
