I love the sound of your voice! So calming! Never knew you could prop some plants with just the leaf!!

Great Job!!! I have never been successful with propagating a croton so I have not tried again. After watching this video, I feel I might try again. By the way, the color on the leaves are amazing!!!
Good video! I think it is very likely the tip cutting will make a beautiful plant for you! The single leaf cuttings though might not give you another plant and will remain a single leaf. Unless you got a bit of stem tissue and an axillary bud when you pulled it off of the stem the cells are structured differently and the leaf will not "know" how to grow a stem. The rooted leaf may stay alive for a quite long time (maybe years) but might never produce a new plant.
Totally amazing!!! My poor lil baby is not doing well at all and I KNOW it hasn't been getting enough light. I will definitely try this method! Thank you for sharing
Very interesting!! The thing is… the leaves that root will probably just be “ghost leaves” They will stay well and root but not grow a new plant for many years if ever.
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you propagate and show the successful ones you’ve already done. And I’m sorry I didn’t get your name in time, perhaps you could spell it out for us all. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤
Wow I know the stem can grow but not by the leaves many thanks for the information very helpful I enjoy your video thanks again and keep it going .....
She answered another commenter who asked the same question. She said that these new leaves she planted in this video died over the winter. But as we saw, the ones she did prior to that did grow roots. I have also seen other commenters stating that the leaves may root but biologically cannot grow a stem unless you somehow your leaf cutting happened to include a bit of stem material. I guess it could be fun to try to propagate loose leaves if you have them lying around anyway…Or you could just propagate pieces of stem in the first place if you want an actual plant!
Thank you for this video. I have grown roots from the leaves but it has not grown into a stem or stalk. The leaves have been in soil for 3 months but no stem nor stalk developing. Any advice?
Guys can anyone tell me if we can have a whole plant after propagatin croton from leaf ?? I haven t found any video that shows the results of a rooted leaf plz tell me if u experienced this🙂
The leaves root and that’s all. It’s the same as Hoya. They never produce a new plant and eventually die of old age. Leaf propagation works with begonia, peperomia and some gesneriaceae.
I’m wondering if you can give us an update on the two leaves because I don’t believe they can produce a plant. They will just stay to leaves. You need part of the stem to propagate a whole plant.
I went on holidays for 3 weeks and my plant sitter overwatered mine... Only 4 leafs are in a full stem and I was thinking about doing this also to force the plant to grow new leaf from a down part. Will it work?
I’m going to try your method… amazing. Can I ask you please why my croton has the lower leaves pointing downwards. They are not droopy and the plant is healthy but most of the lower leaves are pointing to the ground. Top ones are pointing upwards.
Hi I found ur video while searching for a solution to help my croton plant which I repotted during just the start of winters. And now its leaves are soft and drooping... kindly suggest some help.
My leaves are falling. I have it in a bathroom window that gets a lot of morning sun and I water it about once a week. What could I be doing wrong? I live in Michigan so, it's getting too cool to sit it outside.
I would inspect the plant closely for spider mites and webs. Crotons like humidity as well. Are leaves falling from the top, bottom, or all over? I have another video all on croton care if you’d like to take a look.
Hello I just want to know after u cut the leafs and plant them do u put water or not or how long we put water after u plant them and I didn't understand what kind of soil u put to plant the leafs plz let me know I would appreciate if u would let me know cuz I bought some and I love them cuz of the colors
Hello, the soil mentioned was peat moss. This video featured soil propagation because I have not had much success with water propagation, although it can be achieved. Good luck!
What’s the name of the small croton you held up. Someone gave me a plant but didn’t know the name. It has croton foliage and leaves are slimmer and longer.
