Seizing the Han empire in the southland is too valuable to delay, I suggest quickly crushing the Shi, and bringing Sun Quan’s army north while leaving a small mercenary army to finish conquering. The stance with Liu Bei to the north is favorable to you. On the western flank, he drastically outnumbers you, with nearly 3 full armies and a fourth depleted one, but whenever he advances, he cannot advance together. This, according to your venerable ancestor Sunzi, reduces his advantage to nothing. He loses strength as you turn his armies away one at a time. Even if you lose territory slowly, he loses men rapidly. On the eastern flank, Sun Jian is unmatched by any of his forces, with only Cao Ang standing in the way, one army at a time. In this situation you can easily press forward to take and sack Cao Ang’s cities, and once this flank collapses, Liu Bei is trapped with Sun Ce. Therefore, you should stalwartly defend the east, aggressively press north from the west, and decisively utilize Sun Quan after he takes the Shi. Peace is unnecessary.
So because of his showing in the battle against you Lionheart let's see what info we can dig up on Xu Chu. Xu Chu was Cao Cao's personal bodyguard alongside Dian Wei because of his immense courage but simple demeanor he was known as the Tiger Fool. Early in his life Xu Chu's hometown was attacked by a force of 10,000 Yellow Turbans. Xu Chu gathered a bunch of his clansmen and others to defend the area but as supplies were starting to run low he asked everyone to gather rocks for him which he threw at the enemy, breaking bones with every single throw. They later retreated after during truce talks a couple of oxen that Xu Chu was going to give away kept running, Xu Chu was able to hold both of them in place by just holding on to their tails. He later joined Cao Cao where he quickly rose through the ranks and even prevented an assassination attempt on Cao Cao. His two most famous moments were during the campaign against Ma Chao he shielded his lord from harm by holding up a saddle with one arm while using his other arm to steer the boat they were escaping in. Later on Cao Cao went to discuss peace with Ma Chao who was going to use the opportunity to capture Cao Cao. Knowing of Xu Chu's reputation Ma Chao asked Cao Cao where the "Tiger Marquis" was and Cao CAo motioned to his side. Ma Chao was so scared that he dared not make a move. So while acquiring Giantsbane helps Lionheart, Xu Chu is just as deadly.
Lionheart, in ambushes, your missile units won't attack until you order them to, even if they are on fire at will. Might be a bug, but it's been happening every ambush you've had so far. Just so you know.
In the lore Xu Chu along with Dian Wei where the two main bodyguards of Cao Cao. Xu Chu wasn't know for his brains but it's said he could crack boulders with his punches and he was known as a young teen too have picked up a boulder the size of his chest and threw it out of the road cause it was in his carts way. Dian Wei was known to wield a massive single handed ax that he hunted tigers with and was one of the few that Xu Chu said had the strength too match him in a straight up fist fight
The Sea Dragon of Korea 15...... When the enemy army appeared on the slopes of the mountain, the Koreans were prepared and ready for what was going to come next. Their defenses had been bolstered, the siege weapons finished up in a quick enough time, and many extra arrows had been made for everyone with a bow... which was everyone. Sin watched from his position as the enemy army slowly marched towards his side of the mountain: a steep slope up was bare of any form of shrubbery or tree, most having been cut down to provide clear lines of fire, the Korean defenses were at the edge of the wood line that ringed the top of the slope. The enemy army was marching in a large column that soon arrayed like a large block before the Koreans as Sin shouted, “Arrows!!” The Korean warriors notched arrows onto their bows as the enemy army came charging forward in a rushing tide, hoping to charge straight up the slope as Sin waited for the optimal time to strike as he shouted, “Aim!” Bows were drawn and aimed skyward as the hwatcha and Trebuchets in the back were prepared. The Hwatcha being used by the Koreans were more of a giant arrow-holder with a springboard in the back that catapulted he arrows put at great speeds but its main use was mowing down large groups of enemies. The force of Liu Bei came charging to the base of the hill and Sin shouted, “Archers Fire!” Arrows fired, all manner of arrows from the Bu Jeon Whol, to Aegi-sal, to normal war arrows as they flew through the arrow and almost immediately impacted into the ranks of the Liu Bei Militia. Men screamed as droves hit the ground hard from the arrows but it wasn’t done as Sin shouted, “Hwatcha!” The Hwatcha springboards were let loose and more arrows flew through the air as they began to slams into compact groups of militia before they could reorganize and were quickly loaded by nearby Koreans as then Sin finally said, “Trebuchets!” Boulders, shaped into balls, were flung by the Trebuchets as they smashed apart formations that had gone turtle as men were crushed and sent flying as the Koreans continued this bombardment for only a moment. Unfortunately, even with the insight of being able to fire their bows, Sin hadn’t prepared as many arrows as he could have. Heck, the ones he had were really bits of wood and stone with fletchings of feather and fur given what they had found around them. And when the arrows stopped firing, although the trebs could still continue bombardment, he shouted to his men then, “To arms!” Spears and swords were drawn with shields up and all of the Koreans not firing any form of an arrow gathered behind their commander as Sin watched the Chinese still try and come up the slopes in one large mass. “Tsunami! Go!” And with that, the Koreans let out a triumphant roar and came charging straight down the slope at full speed, using the slopes steep incline to gain speed and velocity to bring them barreling down the hill in an unstoppable tide. The Chinese all looked up and watched as the Koreans were coming straight down, straight at them, and many of the militia balked and then broke formation to run while what few mercenaries were around tried to stand their ground but were few and had many gaps in their lines. The Koreans slammed into them and Sin ducked under a spear and sliced a mans neck as he kept slashing and hacking away at the enemy around them while his soldiers fought on. The mass of Korean soldiers brought a hammer strike through the mercenary ranks as most of the Chinese mercs didn’t know how to respond to men who knew equal or better arts of war to them and so a general rout proceeded as the Koreans hounded hen away from the mountain. Sin managed to take out roughly a couple more men before he stopped to watch the enemy army flee away, likely back to their own friendly territory and while he watched, he sighed and said, “Let’s get the dead... give me a list of casualties.”
To answer your question on how to view tenacity of steel progression in a duel, I believe if you hover over Cheng Pu (or any commander) while he/she fights, you can see all the buffs he/she is currently receiving, including the tenacity of steel I'm pretty sure. Edit: Also, when you view the details of tenacity of steel, all the stages are marked by 15 sec. I'm pretty sure that means every 15 sec in the duel he increases to the next phase of buffs and dmg. So if you watch the timer on the duel or time it yourself, you'll know what phase of tenacity of steel the sentinel is in.
4 armies would be the best option. If you decide to peace out with Liu Bei, you need to dedicate two armies to destroying Cao Ang and Yuan Shu. But if you don't, try to peace out with Yuan Shu instead. Focus on holding the Northern border while destroying Cao Ang
Feel like you should pull back Sun Quan northward. If possible demand peace from Liu Bei with the two provinces from Jiangxia that they occupied and Jianye from the Han Empire you still need. Then focus attention on all your remaining opponents in the North.
Can you sell food to like 2/3 people 2/3 food each for per turn revenue, rather than 6 to 1 person you can ear a lot of money which will allow you to sustain the armies?
I would keep Lady Wu's army right now. Given the number of armies that you are facing in the north, having that extra defense force is too good of an opportunity to pass up. I would move the army over to the city that you formed them in and get ready to defend against Liu Bei. That way you have options going forward on how you want to persecute the counterattack. Stemming the bleeding comes first. With Sun Quan's army realistically out of the fight at this point, you would only have 2 forces to fight 3-4. Those 2 that you do have are also pretty separated from each other and as such can't reinforce each other. You gave yourself some breathing room by destroying Xu Chu's army, but you still have work to do.Three armies in theater makes things a lot easier than 2. If anything, I would add a third retinue to Lady Wu's army to make them a full stack and that much more of potent force. You can always disband them after you secure the north.
Love this series! Peacing out with Liu Bei looks like the most sensible option to me, this way you Cana deal with other thorns in your foot like Cao Ang. You can always redeclare war on Liu Bei after 10 turns, which gives you some time to deal with Cao and maybe upgrade your economy and consolidate a bit more rather than intensively going for new territory in the South.
You have an opportunity and a danger. you already know the danger but here is the opportunity. You can capture Leu Bei and his sworn brother and take their valuable weapons and other stuff. The stuff are good and useful. After dealing with Cao Ang, use Sun Jain to strike the livestock farm from the East. Also bring that other army over to assist Sun Ce.
Lionheart, mate, even thou the economy might take a bit of a hit for a couple of turns, you realy need Lady Wu to help out Sun Ce push Liu Bei out. He still holds that province in the Jiangxia that he took from you. Not to mention right now you have a flimsy meat shield in the person of the Bandit Queen, absorbing some blows for you, but also a powerfull ally who's puting in a decent effort in this war (i forgot, is Gongsun Zan at war with Liu Bei aswell, or just Yuan Shu?). What i want to say is :" try to crush Liu Bei, or inflict as much damage to him as possible, with-out capturing the Han emperor". Consider even releasing some of his vasals perhaps? (althou his core faction mechanic makes it kinda hard).
Every midnight in my country I await your videos with bated breath :D You can try smashing Jiangxia Farmland. They have 3 armies holed up there. Complete the commandery and make this war costly for Liu Bei. You can trade off some extra ancillaries to others like Gongsun Zan or Bandit Queen for diplomatic points or money. Maybe the extra armors. Peace is desirable, but so is Huang Gai vs Guan Yu!!! :DDD
Your main reason for war with Liu Bei was to snag Han territory. I think your aim should then be to just hold on to your northern front, and use that army you were thinking of disbanding to snag those straggler Han territories, supplementing Sun Quan's work in the south.
I'd recommend peace with Liu Bei before he starts knocking down cities, his forces could easily overwhelm your armies in the north, smash Cao Ang and then focus on Liu Bei.
As I understand it, Cao Ang is a vassal of Liu Bei now, or he is in a coalition with him. So you may as well try to kill the 2 birds with the one stone and smash both of them. Keep Lady Wu's army and have her reinforce Sun Ce, you need the extra manpower right now . Use Sun Jian to press the attack on Cao Ang from the East and create a giant pincer manouver
1.Use Lady Wu and Sun Ce to attack Liu Bei. Worst case scenario, you weaken him. Plus his capital isn't unguarded well if he's personally there. Best case scenario, you kill him and capture Guan Yu. 2.Then with Sun Jian take out Cao Ang completely coz he'll continue to be a pain if you don't deal with him. 3.Then use Lady Wu to complete Jianye commandery. 4. Use Sun Jian to sail up the river and sack Liu Bei's lands to gain money but without taking in the emperor. Just my two cents
Lionheartx10 Use Sun Ce and Lady Wu's army to crush Lui Bei's army quickly as possible before another army from Jiangxia farmland aid them, but Lui Bei's 2nd army comes to his aid, you might need to peace out with him temporarily.
You should peace out with Liu Bei for now and focus on defeating Cao Ang. This can give you the heroism you need and also give you some extra money to develop your regions. You should also keep Sun Jian and Sun Ce permanently in the north. In the long run you will save more money through good defense of your northern teritorries than constantly having to retake them or repair them from attacks. You can also raise a fourth smaller force to take the Han territory to the south when you eventually fight Liu Bei again. To summarize: Peace out with Liu Bei, defeat Cao Ang, devote more resources to develop your regions and finally re-declare war on the Han empire.
Hey lionheart, but is turtle formation and shield wall formation specific to zhugeliang? Or just level of strategist? Cause flaming shot and flaming arrows are part of the skill level up tree for strategists.
Dear sir Lionheart, i hope you keep your army and throw a punch at Liu Bei. And keep pushing on new land in the south. I think you just need an unnamed General to go south and draw Sun Quan back up north. Use Sun Ce army to smash Liu Bei at the rish of the Large City. Do not peace with Liu Bei because you want to take the Emperor
Hello guys, i am having a problem with population. Is there some way to make the growth of the population drastically decrease? thank you a lot for any tips
Question for everyone, does anyone know how spawning legendary characters spawning works Ive had legendary champions spawn for Cao Cao but not got it on subsequent playthorughs
Ran into an usual issue getting characters. I vassalized Liu Bei buy whenever I annex him Guan Yu will not appear in my court. Instead he just appears in a new faction, usually one at war with me. Any way to avoid this, spy won’t work because he’s at like 100 satisfaction with Liu Bei before I tried to annex him
Weren’t you going to use Sun Quan for the rest of the northern Han territories? I still think that’s the smarter idea so if you need you could also use his armies to defend the north. Plus if you really want to make the Cao pay you can sack all of his lands to get funds to discover all the other things you need.
Peace out with Liu Bei for now. You've got too many wars in front of you and too few armies to deal with them. Peace out with liu Bei and Cao Ang could still be enemy enough to keep your heroism high.
Why use a full stack to capture Han's territories? Either take Qian north to fight with Ce, or just take it to the Shi Xie. You can get a merc army for capture territories.
I think you should attack Liu bie and then try and then go for the emperor because if he doesn't have the emperor it goes to his heir and that sort of turmoil forces the heir to ask for peace then you can keep attacking till peace suits you
Going for doing a battle yourself when the auto resolve predicts "Low" casualties is almost never worth it since the highest I've ever seen (playing myself and on Videos) was around 10% of the armies strength and that was the highest BY FAR.
Hour specials are every 10 episodes. The part 5 one was an early hour special due to the like targets. After that they are at parts 10, 20, 30 and so on.
