As a follow Tasmanian we are all very proud of Queen Mary. Mary has brought such delight and joy to the Royal family. I wish both of them all the best for the future.
THAT WOMAN THE CITIZEN OF DENMARK GIVE COMMENT ABOUT MARY VERY BEATIFUL WAY. " THEY KNOW SHE WAS AUSTRALIAN, BUT SHE ADAPT THE DANED LANGUAGE, DANES CULTURAL, SHE GIVE BIRTH & RAISED THE DECENDANTS OF DENMARK, SHE FUL FILL ALL HER OBLIGATION WITH HIGH ACCOMPLISHED". SOO PROUD OF HER !!!
And endures his infidelities, all for the sake of money and an easy material life. Not a role model for any intelligent, educated young girl making her way through life.
MUCHAS FELICIDADES...PARA LOS NUEVOS REYES... REY FEDERICO Y REINA MARÍA...QUE TODO VAYA MUY BIEN Y PARA SUS HIJOS....SON MIS DESEOS...QUIERANSE MUCHO....QUE EL TIEMPO PASA MUY RAPIDO Y LA VIDA ES CORTA.....FELICIDADES..."
Up front sorry for my longwinded response, but I "need" to get some frustration out of my system! I will also remember the details better, once I have written it down. ----- There was not much to "show" for an international "audience"! Most of the symbolism in the ceremonial things going on during that transition would be lost on most people without a commentary "explaining" the meaning of the details in all this. It was broadcasted for 12- 13 hours straight on both major Danish TV networks ( DR and TV2). Also 5 hours on NRK ( Norwegian Public TV ) They all had changing experts ( historians of all sorts etc in the studios ). Also journalists in place in Greenland and Faroe Islands, south of the border among the Danish minority there, in London, Paris, Brazil and yes also in Sydney and Hobart! In Hobart they interviewed both Danish tourists and a long time ( 16 years?) Danish resident. Typical for Danish migrants her two daughters did not understand a word of Danish ( why would they).------- But the "spectacle" only lasted from 13.35 , when the Royals left Amalienborg, where they live, until they returned to Amalienborg again, and the new Royal Family went on the balkony a second time, around maybe 16.00. And THAT was not part of the official transition, it was only an extra for the people showing up there! And obviously also for the cameras. All the official ceremonial parts took place at Christiansborg, the building of our Government and Parliament. Only the changing of some flags and standards was at Amalienborg, from the building of the outgoing Monarch to the new Monarch. And Australians especially would be royally disappointed, because NONE of the official parts of the transition included our new Dronning Mary af Danmark! When Margrethe (off camera) signed her resignation in the State Council ( Statsrådet ) Mary was not even in that room. It was only our entire Government + Margrethe, Frederik and Christian ( the former, current and future Reigning Monarchs present there. Udråbelsen, the "shout out", the Proclamation itself was only the part with our Prime Minister and Frederik on the balkony. The official part ended, when the PM left the balkony. The parts with Mary and the Royal children was an extra for the crowds present or watching on TV. Bottom line is, that Queen Mary is very well liked and respected here in Danmark ( 85% approval rating ), BUT the transition on January 14th 2024 was about the relationship between the Reigning Monarchs as ceremonial heads of State of Danmark, and then the political powers of Government and Parliament ( they visited Parliament on day two ). This was more of a National Danish Event, than it was a Royal Family Event. Reading through international streams about this, most commenters only seemed to "see" the Royals!?!!
Jeg er beæret over at være fuldblodsdansker, min familie fra Holstebro, søn bosat i København i mere end 20+ år og spændt på, at Danmark får Frederik & Mary som ny konge og dronning 🇩🇰 🤴 👸 ❤️🤍
Not a coronation which requires a crown being ritualistically placed on the head of a Royal. It is a succession snd proclamation. The press should do research before stating it's a coronation.
Once a cheater, always a cheater. Like father, like son. I hope Mary is ok, I hope she lives her own life and makes the most of the position as Queen, just kicks him out of the bedroom.
We do not "need" Royalty! But WHY change a system that functions just fine? A "presidential" Head of State would be just as costly, but can easily be politically dividing, as we see in many countries. So again, why not keep the tradition of having a Royal Head of State, that is not mixed up in politics at all?
