Just received the book yesterday. Wrapping my head around the idea that 50' of rope; x3 torches; and x3 caltrops cost 3 Hero Points; the same as making a weapon 'Deadly' and adding a second damage die (d8 wpn => 2d8). I get that those items also act as attrition mitigation (or attrition sacrifice). The Skill calculus is interesting also: having more skills (up to max of ten) provide more resilience to attrition, but the math suggests also that being better in a few skills allows one actually to succeed with some regularity (vs. having a '3' rank in a number of skills). Intriguing.
Yeah, I haven't gotten the balance yet. Reading through my physical copy as well, and I'm very impressed by the book quality. I am generally feeling less inclined to run the game though.
