How to release the crown and stem assembly from a Miyota 2115 watch movement.
This is a key step that is required if you plan to remove the watch movement from the case. Removing the watch movement from the case will allow access to the dial and hands and further access to the watch movement itself.

Thank you so much for this video. I just swapped out the 2115 on my Bulova. That dimple is deceptively small. I had to use one arm of my tweezers that is practically as sharp as a tack to press it. Did it though! The placeholder crown came right out, and the original crown snaps into its adjustment positions. The real beast was replacing the hands on the front. My gosh. I feel accomplished though. Watch is ticking away on my wrist now. Thanks again.

Although I still can't fix my watch because the face is under a bevel and I can't figure out how to get the front off...
@watchoffthecuff
@watchoffthecuff 6 месяцев назад
The dial could be a front load, meaning you have to pop the front bezel off to get to the dial, etc. feel free to send me pics to colin@watchoffthecuff.com and I can take a look if you want. Cheers, Colin

I have an old watch with a Miyota 2115 movement that I am repairing and the dial has cracked. I need to replace it with a new one but I can’t find 2115 dials anywhere. Do you know what dials could be used for this movement?
@watchoffthecuff
@watchoffthecuff 10 месяцев назад
I think part of the problem is that the dial for this movement is not interchangeable with any others that I know of, and isn't a popular movement for mods like some of the Seiko's. You can however find one dimensionally acceptable then remove the dial feet and use dial dots (adhesive dots used to affix dials to movements when the dial feet are broken). The drawings and specs are here: miyotamovement.com/product/2115/ You can use this data to try and find something that maybe will work. Sorry, this is a touch one without just having 100 of dials made by a manufacturer (which is what I did with the watch in the video). Cheers, Colin

Hi, my stem and crown got pull out and was damaged. Can you tell me what replacement stem and crown I would need to repair my watch. thanks in advance.
@watchoffthecuff
@watchoffthecuff Год назад
The stem part number you are looking for is 065-299. You will have to cut the stem to the correct length. The crown will have to be purchased separately. Make sure the thread on the crown is Tap 10, as this is the thread that will match the stem. Jeweller glue or epoxy will be needed to secure the new crown on the threaded stem once you have confirmed correct fit/length of stem.

Hi, I got a question for Miyota 2115 module. I'm looking for a 'second hand' (the hand) replacement for my Miyota 2115. Can I use the hands from NH35 or NH36 module (online order), can it fit onto the Miyota 2115 module? Thank you for your reply.
@watchoffthecuff
@watchoffthecuff Год назад
unfortunately no. The Miyota 2115 sizes are 120/70/17 (hour/minute/seconds), while the NH35 is 150/90/21. Mainly because one is quartz and the other is mechanical.

Hi, I have got another question. I hope you don't mind as I couldn't find the link or answer. I own a Casio MD-903 with caliber 393 (Casio stock - Year 1987). The incident is that the pin for the second hand has broken from the movement module 393. Now I am looking out for a alternative module from Miyota, which Miyota module will be suitable for this Casio caliber 393? The closer one that I can find would be Miyota 2115 (from online). Miyota 2115 module is it the best one for my Casio MD-903? Thank you for your reply.

Hi Laurence! I will check a few cross reference tables that I have access to to see if I can find or confirm a replacement! Cheers, Colin

@watchoffthecuff Год назад
I am sorry that it looks like I won't be much help to you! Outside of taking detailed measurements of the Casio movement and comparing them to alternatives like the Miyota 2115. There is a seller on eBay from Spain that is selling the Casio .393 movement though... That's probably your best bet!!!! Cheers, Colin
@laurencelim2904
@laurencelim2904 Год назад
@@watchoffthecuff Thank you for your time. I won't be getting the solution from the eBay as there isn't much information about the seller about whether the module 393 that I'm getting is new or used. Anyway, if I got any good news (if I have to proceed with the Miyota 2115), I will keep you updated.

In what diameter of casing does it fit?
@watchoffthecuff
@watchoffthecuff Год назад
It depends. The movement itself is quite small, what really decides is the dial diameter. After that a plastic retainer ring is fitted around the movement before it is cased inside the watch so it is properly supported. These retainer rings come in many sizes or blanks can be bought that you manually trim down to fit inside the warch case.

why did literally all watches i own have this same movement? pretty standard i guess (btw they are not exactly the same since i switched movements between 2 watches and the crown is like half milimeter out now)
