Interesting choice for a hand model.

How should one clean the soles, especially the sides?

Cotton, microfiber, flannel? What’s the preferred cloth?

Mine were damp when I cleaned them and there was a good amount of black pigment on the cloth when I used the Renovateur that came off the shoes, is this normal? I have the black hand stitched veg tanned. Is it because the shoes were damp? My first time cleaning them.
