I honestly have not seen many cases out of New Zealand, but the ones I have always seem to be investigated very thoroughly and quickly!

15 years means every 15 years his case will be reassessed to see if they’re rehabilitated or not. With murderers, they are never released.

Even if he had a gun if you're in range to even stab the guy it's enough to disarm him and run too. Chinese as traditionally have gambling addiction, I knew a Chinese guy living in my apartment complex, he worked as a computer programmer, every month he was late for rent or couldn't pay that months rent. I found his trash papers one day, all gambling related.

Not really , in asia when u got lock up ,your wife can book a day anytime to spend few night with u , and if u got money u would live much comfortable like outside , u have tv ur own , book for u to read , u can eat outside foods too , and smoking anytime u want

The local cab company near me had a bad situation where the owner of the company got killed. He had a fully restored 1950 something model cab he just finished restoring and he took it on a call just to get stabbed to death in it. The person who called for the cab was arguing with his parents and decided to kill the cab driver before he even got there. Phucked up world we got bruh

Sorry for your loss. My godmother's dad drove a cab as a second job at night when we ( godmom and I were just 14 - yes, possible at home). He was beaten up to death to avoid paying a fare that would ammount to something around $5 at the time. I agree with @Jason Griffin below....a phucked up world we got ourselves....

China HAS the death penalty by firing squad. They shoot people for a lot less than murder. Btw. Fear of the Death penalty does not occur to a frenzied maniac in course of his/her attack. His parents' money likely got him a light sentence.

Or they are police propaganda intended to highlight great detectives solving cold cases but never actually do that; most of the cold cases I have seen solved were started by very bad police work, leading to the case being abandoned.

I have no interest in or respect for police - they fuck up all the time, and routinely target the wrong people because of their own biases. I'm interested in forensic science, the thing that actually catches and convicts people who commit heinous acts. Hence my preference for this show over other copaganda.

yeah, Chinas sentences are really strict. But thats more on the mainland. They dole out more capital punishment than any other country from what I've heard/read.

@@The_Real_H There are murderers that were sentenced with less than 15, and while I agree at least he isn't out for the time being I believe him and many other murderers out there should rot in jail. An eye for an eye if you will, no matter the situation I don't think killing another person is ever the correct decision ( right decision not impulsive emotional decisions).

Blood splatter is a well known and proven forensic science with today's computer simulations its helped solved many cases that may have a very different outcome years ago

Everyone who think he should spend the rest of his life in prison should donate money to China. As extradition is against the law in China, they were as accommodating as could be. I think 10-years is reasonable and after prison let them wear an electronic surveillance device for the rest of their life. Put them to work, pay for food, put them up in some simple accommodation and give them just a bit of pocket money. Send the rest of his salary to the victims family / partner / children. Innocent law abiding taxpayers should not be punished unnecessarily for a crime someone else committed. 😎

I dont think he should spend the rest of his life in prison I think he should spend it 6 ft under or in a labor camp forced to give every penny he earns to the victims families. He shouldn't have the right to live any kind of comfortable cushy life. Bread, water, and worked to death to repent for the life he stole...

They couldn’t actually prove the things they needed to get the life sentence tier level, there’s a lot of more factors that need to be proved beyond a reasonable doubt so that’s why he only got 15 years.
