I find it real sketchy that Kate only ever yells at Jeanette for taking over her life and never for not reporting seeing or rescuing her. I don’t think Kate’s completely lying but there’s definitely a lot more happening than she’s letting on
She’s not lying Jeanette knew she was there in the most recent one at the very end it shows u how Jeanette was didn’t open the basement door even though she could hear Kate yelling and Kate said it’s her and she left
Why she didn't yell at Jeanette for not reporting it is very sketchy but at the time she was seeing Mr Harris intimately involved with him so that could be a reason
All i know is that mallory is sketchy, i feel like she set up jeanette. She is so secretive and was proabably feeling vengeful when she saw she was losing her friend, idk. Just want to put those 2 cents in before everything is revealed lol
Fun fact: in the 10th episode turns out Mallory seen Kate but didn’t see her face she thought it was somebody else and not Jeanette they all forgave each other and at the very end it shows a clip of Jeanette at his house while he was out and was in front of the basement and Kate heard someone and started screaming saying “ITS ME KATE HELP MARTIN LOCKED ME DOWN HERE” and Jeanette was gonna open the door but didn’t so Jeanette is such a witch also I’ve always been team Kate
Honestly, my first reaction to someone saying someone who has been missing for months as been found would be “oh no.” Because I would most definitely think they’re dead.
I don’t think I’m team Kate OR team Jeanette. I don’t necessarily believe that Jeanette saw Kate, but that doesn’t make Jeanette any less weird. She was OBSESSED with Kate in 1993. It goes beyond just “admiring the popular girl”. She really and truly wanted to BE Kate. I also feel like we never see any real emotion from Jeanette. She has no trouble lying to her friends or her parents. She is completely self-obsessed.
My theory is, they are both telling the truth. kate saw jeanette in a two way mirror... and jeanette being outside, saw her face in the mirror, even though kate was right infront of her. just speculating..
Wrong/right Jeanette knew Kate was there and Kate wasn’t lying but wasn’t right because if u watch the most recent episode Kate seen Mallory but thought it was Jeanette bc she seen her in the house anyways Jeanette Kate and Mallory forgive each other and at the end it shows Jeanette knew she was there bc she was at the house when Martin wasn’t there and hears Kate screaming for help and telling that it’s her so they can call for help and Jeanette just leaves
i agree, an i also like Kate idk if its because i love Olivia holt so i just wanna like her character, but i feel bad for Kate and also fo Jeanette they have both been through so much.

I feel like it’s going to end up as a misunderstanding. Although, I hope it doesn’t. I hope somebody actually turns out to be the liar, rather than one of those “neither of them” tropes. It’s like choosing nobody in a love triangle... just not as interesting. Maybe there’s events that nobody knows yet, like the Annabelle thing which is still unanswered. I think that may play into the whole thing.

I think Kate and Martin were initially in a " consensual" (I mean absolutely illegal and gross and abusive) relationship. Somehow something got screwed up--did Kate kill Martin after overhearing J and M talking in his house? Martin could have gaslit and emotionally manipulated Kate--he would know J "took over her life". Plus, why is Kate only focused on Jeannette and not Martin, the true perpetrator, right? Jeannette is certainly sketchy, but was she complicit?
Yes I believe the same and I think Annabelle is the name she use when they went to maybe another town to build the relationship. Like Alison in PPL was Vivian Darkbloom so hide her identity.
@@thatamandahenderson Sadly, it's not that crazy. Martin spent every minute of that year manipulating Kate, trying to make himself seem like the good guy. A fair amount of kidnapping victims can develop some kind of sympathy or "connection" with their captors. Kate's even defended Martin a few times, like when that anonymous girl spoke out against him but Kate believed Martin's version of events over the girl. Even though he's the bad guy, Kate could still feel loyal to him on some level because of his grooming.
@@m00gan64 Because she was really obsessed with being Kate, and turned into a delinquent even after hanging around Mallory. All throughout the series, I've felt zero sympathy for that rat.
Team Jeanette I don’t think she saw Kate and I think Kate said this because of everything that happened after her kidnapping but I haven’t see episode 6 yet so maybe that change my mind

I'm going to venture to believe that Angela may be an undercover cop orFBI or something. Maybe Annabelle was captive there too. I mean that was a huge house. Possible new character for a draw to season 2! I still kind of feel like Mallory is super suspish....
My theory is that Kate, Jennette, Mallory, annabelle and some other characters are all alters. (Yes, I think she was kidnapped) and in order to cope, she developed all these alters.
Definitely think Annabelle is an alter. I've noticed when Kate is angry, doing drugs and /or drinking, fighting with her mom,etc. Kate loses her southern accent and her demeanor changes. Dissociation happens when one is facing a traumatic event/s. Definitely a D.I.D. alter, and alters see things differently BUT the main personality does "meet" the alters with little to no recollection of how, when or why they met.
That's a good theory but we'd all have to wait for season 2 to find out and I still won't be on Jeanette's side whether she's an altar or not what you did to Kate was low and evil
I just started episode 6 I am team Kate I think Jeanette may not be fully lying tho like maybe she heard Kate and just moved on not really think and then by the time Kate said that on tv she was in to deep but she a creep not matter how you look at it
I don’t think Kate was kidnapped by Martin Harris she had a crush on him and most probably tired to kiss him and he turned her down and asked her to leave or he would tell her mom. She then told him nobody would believe him and she would say he raped her so he freaked out and put her on his basement as he knows her family would take her side. Or she found out why he was estranged from his family or Kate attempt to kill herself with a gun and it triggered his past trauma of his dad killing him self and he didn’t want her to die so locked her up to make her understand the value her life and freedom. Kate developed Annabelle to cope . Janette was in Martins house but she didn’t see Kate. Kate saw what she wanted to see. Janette is guilty of being a compulsive liar and started to enjoy the thrill of danger and finding a way to wiggle her way out of things. This was all because of the dare list they made in 1993 summer. Malory is jealous and most probably in love with Janette and was devastated when she lost Janette to her new life, so she stole the necklace and gave it to Kate. Kate befriended Malory to use her for that reason . They are all telling lies and all have skeletons in their closet that they don’t want opened. But each of them know one of their secrets. The main story line to me is that you can never truly trust any of them.I know that’s far fetched but hey it’s just a theory.

A little late but now on to the show.Kate is a basically the stereotypical miss goody two shoes who has the perfect family and boyfriend and all in all the perfect life. Jeanette has the perfect family mostly because of her mom.I dont think her mom was as popular in highschool as she keeps letting on.Frankly i think the mom was just like Jeanette.Jeanette at first to me was weird because why do you want attention from Kate so badly, i simply deduced it to her wanting to fit in.Kate on the other hand seems like she needs someone to be the bad guy in her story especially when she's the one who is wrong.She has been living the perfect life and getting what she wants.I believe she and Martin was in a relationship and she has come up with this story to save her ass.
