This is our trawler life story.
We retired early and decided to make a big change. We sold everything and moved aboard our 54' Cheoy Lee passagemaker, a “go anywhere in the world”, ocean going power boat. That was in 2014 and we have never looked back. Now in our late 50's we are free of work and we are living aboard and cruising our trawler full time.
Join us and our crew, on our adventures as we explore new places, discover more about our trawler and what makes her work, and learn more about ourselves in our young retirement years. Our hope is to entertain and inspire you to pursue your own passions through telling our story of our cruising trawler lifestyle.
Thanks for watching, subscribing and liking Cruising Sea Venture!
Best, Jim & Rosy

we spent the night in grace harbor on our return trip. we hit it at the end of July and it was packed... at least 30 other vessels! The Waggoners guide said it was a relatively secluded anchorage... not! of course we hit it at the height of the boating season. we had some great shrimping just off the mouth of grace harbor in 200 feet of water.

Hi guys, I watched all of your videos while getting ready to cruise the San Juan's, which I did from April 9 to May 29. I started in Bellingham went to Sucia Island then down to Bremerton for Trawler Fest by way of La Conner to Shilshole to Bremerton then worked my way back up North to Kingston, Anacortes, Sucia, (again just cuz), Blaine, etc., ending up the Fraser River in Richmond BC at a new marina called Pier 73. I had to leave the boat there and drive back to Palo Alto to go to my daughters graduation. I'm now watching all of your videos again while taking notes. I hope to loosely follow your path in Canada for the summer. Your videos have been very helpful to me since all of my boating experience has been in the San Francisco Bay and delta. There are many hundreds of miles of sloughs going up the Petaluma River, Napa River, Sacramento River, from Suisun to Rio Vista over to Stockton and much more. It is fun but not quite as serious as the PNW waters. The PNW is a whole other world, which you two have done such a great job of documenting. Thank You!!

DC, Thanks for watching. We are so glad you have found the videos helpful. Sucia is a great place to go back to all the time. Sounds like you had a great cruise and hit all highlights. We are now working our way north to Alaska. We are currently in Shoal Bay. We arrived yesterday after a 29.5 hour non-stop run from Bellingham. It was a great run up the Strait of Georgia with the paravanes working hard and eliminating almost all the roll. Next year we will be in San Francisco on our way to Mexico. We would love to stay in touch and get some local knowledge of what to do and where to go in the bay area. If possible, please send us an email at cruisingseaventure@gmail.com so we can stay connected. Thanks again for watching and commenting. Jim and Rosy Addington M/V Sea Venture
