Opportunities for cruising around Vancouver Island in the winter can be few and far between, especially when your cruising is limited by work commitments. With a positive forecast on a January weekend, we decided to make the short cruise from Campbell River to Prideaux Haven for an overnight trip in our Ranger Tug.

Looks beautiful, I'm hoping to take my boat out for her first winter cruise sometime this Christmas season in Howe sound. I'm nearly done installing a diesel heater that should keep two of the three cabins toasty warm.

Jesus! Just watched your Princess Louisa video and now I find this. Same visceral feel as your Louisa video. Never been here in the winter. Beautiful! In the summer Prideaux Haven is like bath water, as I'm sure you know. Us kids loved it! No crowds in the mid 60's. Pure bliss. Thank you.

OMG how this video brings back memories for me. I cruised that whole area way back in the 1950's with my family when there was nothing there went shallow diving in the cove back side of mink Island

Could you include how you use your boat during these trips? You've obviously mastered cruising in cold weather, and that takes preparation and utilizing systems in a coherent manner. What provisions do you use, and how does the Ranger Tug facilitate your adventures?

I’m sure you’ll love your RT29, we cruise on a 2012 RT25SC… a great little boat, but you’ll enjoy the extra room!
