Motion sickness patches. You place them behind your ear and they last for 3 days. I haven’t used them on a cruise yet, but I’ve used them on trains in India and cars driving through the mountains in India & Costa Rica. And I get motion sickness riding buses and vans, riding Mission Space, and watching some movies or people play video games.
americangirlNJ I have used Dramamine on the long ferry ride between Seattle, Washington & Victoria, Canada, but not on a cruise (haven’t been on one yet). They work well, but I don’t want to have to keep taking them all the time on a longer trip. Plus I have to consider whether the drowsy or non-drowsy formula would be best. For me, the patches are just easier. I got my first patch when I went to get shots before traveling to India for a month. Since it works for three days, there is a lot less hassle than with pills. Worked great for long train rides, bus rides, and Jeep drives through crazy, winding mountain roads. My daughter typically has to either drive or take Dramamine to keep from getting car sick. She used patches driving to and from WDW for Spring Break and never felt ill. Right in the middle of the trip, she was between patches... I wasn’t sure she’d make it to the end of Kilimanjaro Safaris. She wouldn’t have if the ride had been any longer. My personal opinion is Dramamine is great for a one day trip, but anything over that I’ll use patches and have enough to cover the entire trip.
Land/Sea question: I booked Land/Sea/Land on my last 14-day Panama Canal Crossing. Three days at WDW (Beach Club), Disney Cruise, Disney Land stay (Grand Californian) for two days. Piece of cake with a good travel agent. It really was a Kingdom to Kingdom cruise.
Not true about finding the cheapest cruise. We use vacations to go. It's a big data base that we filter where we want to go, time, price, etc. We sort by per night and find the cheapest cruise that way.
Do many people cruise alone? Does it cause a problem at all? No one that I would like to go with me is able to go for the last two years. I want to celebrate my 65th birthday on a Disney cruise and going alone is no problem for me. Anyone have any feedback?
You still have to pay for 2 occupants as far as I know. Maybe if you are paying their way they might be able to ;) I would work with your travel agent to see if there are any discounts or guaranteed rates that would cheaper for you since you most likely will travel solo. Besides the cost issue I think it would be fun to Disney cruise solo - there is so much to do. If you tend to enjoy your solitude I think you would be fine. I have traveled with a large party and just with my husband. The large parties are more fun but with just the two of us it was more relaxing. If you are worried about being stuck dining with folks you don't know I believe every day except the first and last you can dine privately at Cabanas for dinner. And there is a ton of food on the ship but hey you might make some new friends on the first night at dinner :)
Sorry, but NO tourist attraction in Europe is closed in August. And that is because of holiday season. Thats when they make their money. Just a short objection from a european.
You know I really enjoyed the show until the un-necessary joking about the pets. To the people with pets that was a legit question. I hope you don't laugh and make "jokes" like that to your customers.
