I usually wait until the kids develop a personality, which gives certain bonuses to their skills. Then I educate them accordingly.

Dont have your kid be raised by others trust me it is a horrible mistake that will cone to bit u back, just raise him yourself so u can avoid the pain. Also when creating accolades try to see what attributes they offer the two best u should always go for that can change the outcome of many battles in your favor is valiant for 10% army agamge and stalwart 10% army toughness. Thanks for the new series

Well if you want him to gain traits and professions that you don't have it is very useful.

On average, traits give you 12 traits at random. Guardians give children more chance to roll event with their traits. A perfect education gives you 8 points, is the skill you actually want and a lot more perks over you life. Basically, in your main education, you get two traits per tree you complete. You should always favor education trait first, which is easy to do. If you pick a skill guardian tgat has better skills than you in the right area, you nearly always get a better character. Especially now since you can use the influence personality action.

give the male courtiers some consorts too,the ladies you bring aboard might have great aptitude for crucial positions like physician and wet nurse etc. plus its nice and wholesome when their sons and daughters will served your own lineage down the line.

You should always station your men at arms for very strong bonuses. When you blackmail for a lover secret, always start with the women because if the man refuses you loose the other. You should wait for your kids to develop their childhood traits before assigning them a guardian, then pick the highest relevant skill in conjunction with highest learning (very high learning by itself is great for kid education). Big up.

I am trying to get into this game - just took over my local area (Kent, England) to instantly get swung on by 4000 men from normandy. Did I choose a bad place to start my first run or am I just trash? lmao

In character creation at the start you should give yourself at least 2 personality traits. That's pretty typical minimum of any character. One of your first wife options had 5 personality traits for some reason (the chaste one you passed on).

It looks like a very fun little game. It's very varied, the gameplay is never the same. That's probably why I'm going to buy it, but I'm still thinking about it. Because if more DLC is missing, the game probably won't be the same either. But DLCs cost money. Quite a lot of money, so...
