Titular hero William Lothar of England returns as the Third Crusade draws to a close in the year 1192 C.E. Downtrodden and far from home, William has gone into hiding with his name tarnished after the events of Season One. The English king, Richard I the Lionhearted, has been captured by rival monarchs and is being held for ransom in a castle located deep in the heart of central Europe. With the help of trusted allies and skilled companions, William embarks on a perilous quest in an attempt to rescue the king and restore his honor.
