i was severely depressed when i heard this song for the first time and i absolutely hated it. im back for the first time in nearly a year.... after lots of medicine and therapy... depression had my mind under complete control. i was brainwashed by a horrible disease, and this song literally told me exactly what i needed to do to be healthy and i couldn't process it. i was so sick that i hated a gentle encouragement towards becoming happy. depression is an indescribably horrible disease. i fought it back and the was the hardest thing ive ever done. i cant believe what it did to me, i dont know why im crying typing this out, i cant believe how sick i used to be

This song showed up in my feed randomly today. I've been living with depression for the last 3 years, but this last month and a half have been extremely hard on my mental health. I spent almost everyday crying, isolating myself from the outside world and my friends, i even thought about being dead. I don't even know why, but when i saw this thumbnail i instinctively clicked it, and while listening to this song at first i felt nothing, but at the "would you rather be your own best friend or your worst enemy" i began tearing up, and after wiping my tears and looking myself in the mirror i managed to look at myself and for the first time in the last month i was able to genuinely smile. I know this will be buried, but from the bottom of my heart, thanks for creating this song, and to anyone else struggling with depression, it may be hard, but don't give up.

It's... interesting, how fitting songs can be. I just finished talking to my ex's current partner and, it feels so refreshing to be honest. Self-hatred can fuck with your head, bad. And the love you have can become possessive and unhealthy.... But it's songs like this, about you holding your back.... That's when we're truelly ready to rely on the people we love, rather than depend on them. It is one hell of a journey and fears and pain and anxiety can take hold so easily but..... A nice tune to brace our spirits and push forward, day by day, is what we need. So, thank you for making this song. You're also a truly terrific singer and, here's hoping all of us can follow this song.

Holy geez this is the most uplifting song I’ve ever heard. I regret not finding this much earlier but I’m glad it appeared in my recommended now.

This explains a lot about my life, I have ADHD and learning was difficult and I had trouble with it, I should have been over it but I’m still not quite there yet, I knew it would have just taken time before I would be moving ahead. The older I got, I wasn’t sure where I was going and the fear of never knowing thing finally bit me, I wanted to be my own best friend but I was stuck with my worst enemy. There were some nights where I would stay up restless and thought of giving up, it was very scary to me and it’s scary now but I know it won’t be long! I thought letting go was the answer, I never been more wrong. So now here I am, in 2020, and I’m my own best friend...(yes this story is true!)

Recently i have had a huge life changing event happen, and i found it really hard to keep getting myself up and moving and not just sit and cry in a corner, it's been difficult to be happy and just wake up everyday to do life. But this song has become something of an inspiration for me to keep moving forward, to remind myself of what;s important to Me and what I Need to do. Thank You Crusher-P

This speaks to me as about a person on the way to recovery from depression trying to guide others who are also know the pain of depression towards happiness

I'm glad that I'm finally at a point where I can truly relate to this song, if anything I've progressed past this point. More and more sure of myself as time goes on. My anxiety kicked in when high school started, and I went from loud and confident to quiet and awkward. I think it's because that's when I finally started to pick up on social cues (autism wheee) and realize just how much I always stuck out, and how others treated me because of it. There's a little more to it than just that but I'll spare whoever reads this the details, y'all don't need my life story haha. But that was definitely the turning point and from that point all the way up until last year I absolutely HATED myself. But something shifted last year and I started growing more loud, more confident again. Realized earlier this month that for the first time since I was 14 in middle school, I actually like myself again. I forgot how good it feels to just like myself. I'll be 21 next month and can't wait until liking myself turns into loving myself. I'll get there.

This is definitely one of the most meaningful songs I've found in my life in the last few years. Gives me hope in a place where I'd never think of finding any. Really makes me feel like there is hope. Thanks Crusher-P for giving me such a wonderful song to relate to on so many levels and leave me feeling good.

dear Crusher-p Thank you for uploading this song. now I know there are countless other "feel good it'll be okay" songs out there but this one I can relate to. it acknowledges "yes, I'm in a worse place than I want to be" or "yeah, I have some work to be done. but I can do it" without it being too pop or depressive. You struck an amazing balance and frankly, kickstared my personal healing process. We all hurt, some more than others and frankly, I've had my fair share of dings and scuffs.
