When I use to crush cars we use to take the motor and trans out of them. Your not the only person that crushed nice old and new stuff. The scrapper life

They made double windows in the s-class to reduce noise. That is the reason behind the double windows. If you had one to break, at least you still had the other window.

Those old school color coded Mercedes Benz wheelcovers are probably worth saving, both for ebay parts or wall art ! ,they make great clocks too 🕓

The fastback 1980ish Oldsmobile Cutlass in the background is the car that got my attention. Simply because of its odd body style and that nobody hardly bought any of them when they were new. Then saw that mid 50’s Buick in the deep background. You’ve got a bunch of interesting cars there.

When my younger brother was in high school he had a beat up chevette. He took the housing with the pull rope from the top of a push mower and mounted it on his hood. He would have a friend get in the car. They had it all worked out that when my brother pulled on the rope his friend would start the car. He said they freaked a lot of people out and got lots of laughs. What fun!

Gosh hardware has gotten SO expensive, I can't imagine there not being a market for those bolts. Broke my heart to see that Chevette crushed, need a car for my daughter. But transportation from Kansas? Geez, cost me $800 years ago! So I'm sure not practical today.

when I was 16, I worked part time at a yard in Fl, (its still open) and the rule was, after 6 months,, chrush it and move it out,, saw a lot of cool stuff get smashed, but then, it was just a old car.

All that brand new hardware in those creates just going to scrap. I wonder how many hundreds of thousands of dollars was originally spent on all that stuff. A whole lot of capital expenditure sitting there! To me, that is a sickening amount of wasted and expensive stuff someone originally had to foot the bill on.

What's the story on that red Celica sitting next to the crusher? Seems like the kind of car that would have got the squeeze a long time ago but just seems to always be hanging out in the background of your videos. Maybe theres a story, or maybe its just luck lol

I work for a junkyard in my 20tys, and we crushed 400 Impala, the rust bucket from the 70tys, we put water heaters in them, and there might have been aford wagons in the crush pile but all foreign cars was crusher bait .

Had a chance 5 years ago to buy 3 1950s/60s Mercedes, for $100 each, but the condition was I didn't send them to be crushed, otherwise they were going for more money to the crusher.... I tried advertising them on a FB Vintage Mercedes group, explained the situation, and that it was time sensitive.... all I got was grief, and claims I was a scammer...so I let them go, and they were bought and flattened by the local scrap yard. People can be strange. Can't save everything...

It is my understanding that Mercedes quality started to tank in the late 1990s when they started farming out component manufacturing to sub contractors.

That chevette was actually a pretty nice car. I myself would have enjoyed that car. I like a number of the cheap economy cars like that one. I actually would have been tempted to buy that one if it was local to me, but no way am I going 2,000 miles to get one of those. I’m not that interested.

I wandered through a different auto crushing channel where he flattened a car on its side. It seemed to flatten out further by being crushed on its side rather than "right side up" Perhaps an experiment with all those cars of the same type? Does a sideways car flatten further than an upright car?

I'm sure all the people on the internet, someone would have contacted someone to get them parts if they were saving. People don't understand how much money and time it would take to save them cars. A person would have to pay you for them and then pay to truck them to their location , then pay someone to take them apart and then pay to sell them parts, like a Ebay Fee

"Nobody showed up", when he tries to sell. Also, fan boys expect "others" to "save" all old cars, even if undesirable, like Chevettes. But who has the time, money, space, etc. Get your own space and save all the junk, that will get scrapped after family inherits it.

Drone batteries are always low when you need them. DJI batteries don’t hold their charge if you don’t use them. Some sort of safety mechanism built in I guess.

Just wondering, have you tried listing the cars on eBay for parts or auctioning them off? In the UK a lot of junk yards do that and move a lot of parts and cars that way. As you say, the pages many times are just people showing off what they have...

Parts cars don’t sell on eBay. There was a guy not far from me with hundreds of 40s-60s cars on there for $750 each and sold almost none of them. Finally had a crusher come in and make it a field
