We used to walk (wade) at night with lanterns in Redfish Lake in Port Alto, Texas. Did real well. Gigged some really big flounder. Those silvery looking fish, those are redfish and illegal to gig, so no one would dare. The hard part was finding way back to safe harbor in a Bayhawk boat at night in pitch dark hard to find way out of lake. Then have to worry about hitting a post/piling on way back in. Talk about good eating, flounder.

Well Brant, this may be an old reply, but your explanation of the RU-vid deal is spot on. It's just common sense business. You create better content, and in turn your viewers watch the rewards as well.
I don't think you want to do this for just giggles. If they think you are a sellout, ask them if they want to be the first $100/month patron at your Patreon page when you start it. I'm in Texas and we don't use a boat that's cheating lol. we wade sometimes up to a half mile from shore gotta build a fire so you can find your way back. when you're out there with just a head lamp and you're waist deep and see shadows just outside the light as big as you are that's when it gets fun

jerry sipes some the most fun while floundering with my father was to talk him into going to spots where to the ran up into the sawgrass (our favorites were Redoubt Bayou and behind building 638 which is now the Navy Yacht Club) as we would approach the sawgrass with our floundering lights on the mullet would come boiling out and I would have great fun stabbing mullet as you say. If you hit them you had to be quick. It was the same thrill I got from quail hunting when you walked into a covey and they would get up all around you. You had to have great reflexes but it was more fun than a shooting gallery.

Maybe I look at things wrong and I'll be honest I've never been flounder gigging I asked said maybe I'll look at it wrong but the question I have to ask myself is there any sport in it you know when you go flying or fishing you have to wait on them to eat it you have to wait a minute and a half to minutes I guess it's not for me quit bitching but man keep up the good work all honesty I know you didn't sell out and here's the other thing it's easy for people to talk junk on the other side of a keyboard that ain't doing it keep up the good work lighter
i graduated High School inSouth Florida in 1982. and this sport wasn’t a thing back then i do like the process and if i was to ever return to living back there again it’s definitely something i want to try as i do like Fresh caught Flounder and as a Scuba Diver i really enjoyed Spear fishing

I watch a good bit of your videos and I’m a Navarre local, with that said you shouldn’t waste time explaining things to people who won’t and don’t want to understand. Always will be negative people that’s just the nature of the beast. Focus that energy on producing your quality videos and or selling homes

Living on the south east coast going gigging has been a favorite of mine since I was a young one. When they make their runs inland I love it.. Good clean sandbars have given us hours of fun and food. Flounder is my favorite eating fish as well.

when i grew up in fla we did this and i loved it and when i became a chef for a living after we would spear em i got to stuff em with lobster and shrimp and scallop stuffing so good i miss those days no flounder in the north ga mountains
