Cruz invents a new rescue tool that he is testing to break into doorways more effectively.
Season 3 Episode 10 "Slamigan"

problem is with a tool like that. You can only put so much force into it. A full swing or even half swring would put a lot more force on a door. On a light door however it would be perfect.
