She did this song after the bashing she got during her duet with Mandy Moore. People were saying that she didn't know the lyrics of the song. To light everyone's mind, that was an impromptu duet. Mandy was sick that time and she asked Regine to accompany her on stage. The song was basically new to Regine and had no practice. Thus, missing and messing most of the lyrics. Due to her dismay re the fiasco that she doesn't know the lyrics, she did this to give fans what they want.

Si Regine yung nagsalba pero pigil na pigil na pigil siyang wag masapawan si Ateng Mandy. So dito na lang niya binuhos yung di niya nagawa hahahahahaaaa
Still in a way iba yung magic na dala ng boses ni Mandy. The duet is still better in my opinion because it had Mandy's voice. Too light and too high yung boses ate Reg for the song

Did you see the video of Regine and Mandy singing this song, Live together? I was waiting to hear Regine, but because in the first half, they were showing Mandy (who was up front before going to Regine’s side) it took me a minute to realize Regine was singing too. If it wasn’t for Regine, I would’ve thought it was a mix of Live and playback (because of background vocals that would be hard to sing with just one person).

but mandy Moore can really show such emotions to this song. i like mandy's version more. not just because she's the original singer of this. high notes doesn't always define greater version of a song.
cry is not a song for birit. I have nothing with you regine you are still awesome in many ways but I'll still give the credit to Mandy she sang it totally that I always cry
