Forever angry that Lifetime interrupted MACKENZIE'S dance with footage of Maddie. We know she's done it before - please let us just watch Mackenzie. Mackenzie danced so beautifully and did AMAZING. no copyright infringement intended
I think people don't realize that when Mackenzie has good choreography, she can nail it easily, yet they give her childish or cheesy choreography with little emotion in it
But she can't handle big emotion dances , she smiles all the time , even if the song is about crying.. Only emotions was - The Maddie face at the end and 2:02
+DancerLia :3 the song was about having to smile through the pain and at the end yhu see she can't hide her emotions anymore so thats why she smiling throughout the whole dance except the end
+DancerLia :3 the song was about having to smile through the pain and at the end yhu see she can't hide her emotions anymore so thats why she smiling throughout the whole dance except the end
2:02 That was beautifully expressive! She's perfectly capable of expressing emotion in dance, but she won't fully understand how to bring it out if she keeps getting told to do the "Maddie face" instead of something more constructive.
It was really good, and the one expression that really made sense with the lyrics to the song. I don't understand why Abby told Maddie and Mackenzie to smile the whole time when dancing this piece-- it's a sad, soulful song.
Mackenzie doing this solo could have been a cute sister moment, but then Abby had to turn it into a rivalry. I loved watching both of the girls do it, and they were both awesome.
+Darcie fun calm down geez let Kenzie shine for a moment people have there own opinion and you can't change that I see you everywhere trying to defend Maddie and even for stupid reasons so ignore it
Jo’s Ukulele Channel it probably is, which is why they didn’t show her face in the interview because it would have been way more obvious that it was edited.
The reason Maddie uses more emotion than the rest of the girls is because Abby actually lets Maddie have emotions. The rest of the girls she says "suck it up".
Abbeyisawesome Maddie doesn’t even use emotion. She forces it and makes a weird face she thinks is sad/angry/etc. when it’s just unnatural. The emotion in her dances aren’t sincere.
Josefina Higuera Me too!! It's nice to see. I get teary-eyed sometimes and none of the girls are even my kids or anything so imagine being a parent? It must be so emotional to see them perform and excel when you've watched them learn it all from the ground up
Gamer Amy Rose totally agreed! shes pretty biased at times. when mackenzie was practicing her solo in an old ep, she was bragging abt how maddie was in a music video
I've gotta say that Mackenzie did absolutely beautiful for this solo. She nailed it, and I just love the way she danced and showed her facial expressions while she was dancing. It was amazing!
I like how a few years ago Mackenzie was sitting in the audience watching her sister perform this and now here she is, being as graceful and gentle as Maddie was
the reason i love both versions of this dance so much is because you see both sides when you watch them. maddies emotions and faces are more happy, like she's finally leaving behind a tough and sad period in her life and is finally done crying. kenzie has the opposite. its like she's the one during the difficult and sad period, and is masking it with a smile and rarely shows the emotional/sad side of it, but when she does its beautiful and makes me tear up. they're both equally talented, just in different realms of dance. also, for seldom performing lyrical pieces, kenz pulled this off and showed abby she's not just maddies little sister!!!
I feel like Mackenzie brought another emotion to the dance, Maddie's made me wanna cry but Mackenzie's I just saw so much passion! She really wanted to show that she's not just Maddie's little sister. She's more than that! She's Mackenzie. :-)
Victoria Giddins "When you go out there, you be Mackenzie, you don't need to be Maddie. Mackenzie is just as good. It's even better, because you're your own special self, okay?"
if you watch the full version of maddie's cry solo, she smiled as well. both of them used their face well, and each had a different highlight of the dance. mackenzie's highlight was at 2:02, her face and attention to detail was spot on, and maddie's highlight was her maddie face at the end. both girls did well, and i wish we could've seen mackenzie do more solos in this style. if mackenzie did more solos like this, i'm sure she would get more used to emotional pieces.
I hate how they put footage of Maddie while Kenzie was dancing. Can we focus on Mackenzie Ziegler just once and know her as Mackenzie Ziegler, not Maddie's Little Sister. Mackenzie killed it out there!😇
Can you imgaine how much more killer it would have been had Abby let Mackeznie do her good sad face like we have seen in several group dances. Mackenzie did great and what she was told. But if wasn't forced to do maddie face it may have been even better.
Everybody keep saying: "she smiled too much." But to be honest it's better if she smiled because that's the Mackenzie face. She is not about to do the MADDIE face and look constipated.
I wish she weren't told to just do the Maddie face throughout this dance, I think we might have seen some great faces from Kenzie. Don't get me wrong the Maddie face works great for (young) Maddie, but it doesn't look very realistic on other people. I absolutely adore Kenzie's expression at 02:02 and I think we would've seen more of that if she wasn't being boxed into having to do the Maddie face for the Maddie dance.
Minty_The_Bunny _Girl all the persons havent the same thing to think so I cant shut up myself cause I prefer Mackencie than Maddie and is what I think. Maddie for you is better so ok, no problem because Maddie is a good person and I like she too. Abby prefer Maddie so that is the reason why when Maddie cry Abby say that is no problem but when Mackencie cry Abby dont care and is hard with Mackencie. If you like Maddie for me is very good so please dont say shut up beacuse I can say everything what I want. And I never say that Maddie havent talent both have a lot of talent but I prefer Mackencie. Thanks for read this.
It should be like this: When Mackenzie cries: Abby: Stop crying, only babies cry, suck it up I don't wanna see those tears! When Maddie cries: Abby: It's okay Maddie, don't worry about those Moms, they're just jealous. Like wth?!
I loved this! Mackenzie danced so well. She hit the splits in all her jumps and she had great facials. She definitely proved Abby wrong with this solo. Great job Kenzie!!!!
HFFMermaid a bit. Maddie smiled for like 5% when the time was right. Mackenzie smiled for 95% while the text was "all I wanna do is just cry". The difference is huge, its like Maddie actually listens to the song, while Mackenzie is just focusing on dancing and looking pretty.
czechowa even so, it should all be about the dance not the facial expressions, they should represent 10% of the routine whilst your all acting like it's the most important thing
dance is emotions, art is emotions. its as if singer sang without any emotions, he can do it, and it even might sound good, but only the best singers can portray the emotions in the song, and the same is with dance. Nobody says that Mackenzie danced badly, they just say Maddie did it better, becouse she went ahead of that.
No I don't think you read the last bit of my last comment, the thing is everyone on here is freaking out about kenzie smiling and how her face isn't right, now I get that it's about art and all that stuff but what I am saying is by judging by the comments people have written on here you would assume that they looked at her face for the entire dance and didn't even take not of her dancing, and it ticks me off because I think kenzie did really good
Maddie and Mackenzie both did such great Jobs on this number. I think that Mackenzie looks like she had fun with it, it challenged her, and she performed it well, some of her moves could used improvement but she did a fabulous Job, she needs to work on how she portrays emotions. Maddie also did very good on her solo with Cry. She has did good at portraying emotions, and her moves seemed to flow together where as some of Mackenzies transitions need work. Maddie is also a perfectionist, and spends a lot of time correcting herself. Mackenzie just wants to dance and have fun. Over all both solo's were well done. But I think at this point Mackenzie needs more work, Maddie did well with cry.
I agree its not Macknezie's style, but I think she did well on it. As for Brooke Hyland my heart goes to her, She is an amazing dancer and she is very good in acro dance. I love her music and her songs and her dance and I think its very sad that she isn't on the show anymore. Bottom line all of these girls have so much talent and I think they deserve credit for having the talent, instead they are told Abby created them, abby made them who they are. These girls all have talent there talents are all different but they have amazing talent
I agree, but we should remember, this is probably one of Mackenzie's first lyrical solos. I'm just waiting for the day when Abby puts Maddie out there doing one of Mackenzie's solos!
If I'm being totally honest, I think Mackenzie performed it better. I liked her facial expressions better. Maddie was amazing, but I think Kenzie should get more credit for this dance
I agree, I like how Mackenzie took her time to fully execute the movements. Maddie did a nice job with this solo, but she rushed through the movements instead of finishing them completely. I prefer Mackenzie's version over Maddie's (no hate towards Maddie though).
RRTY154 - Alright, we get it, you're overly obsessed with Maddie and think she's the almighty. You're head is so far up your rear you have to insult her little sister to put your precious little Sia apprentice back up on her pedestal.
looking back on it, i think that mackenzie is used to doing upbeat jazz and acro solos where you smile the whole time, so when she is doing this more dramatic lyrical solo mackenzie instinctively puts a smile on. of course, she still did wonderfully though
Francesca Constante Well she would be better because as you said she's older and everyone's attention is on her and no one is focused on Mackenzie. I don't think she's the best dancer ever though as some think, what about you?
The Prancing Pony they both were great but now's maddie and Mackenzie left I just cry watching maddie and Mackenzie solo they grew so much btw Alexis umm I spelled wrong the cry the name of the song it sounds perfect cause I saw maddie did in the official vid of cry but in really hate the background it like so long ago
Ya but mackenzie did this when she was older and maddie did it younger so maddie proboly did not know all things yet that she now knows but mackenzie did because she got to know more tricks already.
I think she did so well on the last part of the dance because it wasn't the expectation of dancing like Maddie she was dancing like MacKenzie and it was beautiful, good job Mackenzie😊
I have watched just that part literally 10 times in a row. Screw all the people telling her to do expressions more like Maddie, that was all Mackenzie and it was perfect.
People have got this wrong, Just because the Title is called Cry it does not mean she has to physically look like she is crying. She has to look elegant and smile and make it whimsical feel. She pulled her stressed emotions at the right time.
+All Dancers Audioswaps To me her smile looked like a sad one, like she was genuinely trying not to cry...like the theme of the song, and then at the most emotional parts, like 2:02 you see her breaking. She's a phenomenal little dancer.
Overall, I like Mackenzie's version better, but Maddie's face was always more emotional during that little "soul has left my body" bridge. I just wish Kenzie had nailed that one moment. But overall I think she conveys emotion at least as well as her sister.
I think Mackenzie is such an underrated dancer. She beat Chloe, who is 3 years older than her, Maddie who is 2 years older than her, JoJo who is 1 year older than her and Nia who is 3 years older. Mackenzie has proved her worthiness of a spot on the team!
+Abit ofCreative she only gets lots of acro solos because thats her style of dance. shes very good at it and she doesnt just do acro , she does jazz aswell
No she didn't mad die had more facials and the moves were really clear she also won first place with it while Mackenzie won second beaten by her sister in a tap solo so no mad die did it much better
i agree at first i like maddie more but then i like macknzke more noww she so cute and pretty but 216 she chwnge so much and hve grown so much maddie too (if you readng this maddiemor makcnzie i love you both)
The thing that annoys me is that on the pyramid Abby said I didn't get the feeling I get when maddie performs. She's not Maddie. Lyrical isn't her thing she's better at acro jazz which she stated. I wish they would stop pushing her to be like maddie 🌞
Mackenzie just wasn't conveying the right emotion... She was smiling the whole time while the song is called 'CRY'. I get that maddie and Mackenzie are different and everything and I'm not saying she has to be like maddie, I'm saying she wasn't getting the right emotion.
If you listened to the lyrics, the song is about someone who wants to cry but can't. She has to smile for the public to see, and no one knows how she feels inside. But she doesn't want to do anything but cry. I guess Maddie and Mackenzie interpreted it differently, and they both did stunning jobs :)
Maddie also smiled during this until the last few seconds. Maddie is just a bit more fluid with her movements and natural with the emotion. Like Maddie's smile looked forced and had those moments where the smile broke into sadness like the song says. This looked like a pretty smile you'd use when you meet a friend. And sometimes her face went blank.
To everyone saying she should be sad not smiling. The song is about who falls into a depression. You don't see people with depression walking around upset and crying all the time in fact they're usually fake smiling. And you can tell the smile kenzie is giving is fake. And the song talks about her wanting to cry. She wants to stop faking smiles and just let it all out and by the end kenzie is showing sad emotions because the girl in the song finally let herself breakdown and cry. This dance tells a heartbreaking story and you guys just think "oh the song is called cry so she should be upset" like there's so much more depth to this. That's all. Please don't fight.
I like Mackenzie in this more than Maddie. I think Mackenzie brings a certain life to all of her pieces and tells the story in a new way. Maddie isn’t a breath of fresh air Mackenzie is. Maddie does the same thing over and over and over but Mackenzie can do new things with a piece instead of one thing again and again. Mackenzie is a true trooper with being compared to her sister. She is the stronger dancer.
I’m rlly sorry to burst ur Mackenzie bubble but I’m a dancer and Maddie uses way more emotion and has stronger technique u js say u like Kenzie more bc she’s probably ur favorite
I love Kenzie and Maddie but I guess you don't understand what dancing is they both do the sqme pieces over and over and over again but the both switch every once in a while but Maddie uses emotion and brings character and life into her solos but Kenzie is good in another way for her iconic acro skills.
Mackenzie did so good in her solo her faces were so sweet she smiled when she had too but sadly she didn't win but I honestly think they both did really good
Sus expresiones son tan elegantes y puras siento que en ese baile soltó todas sus lágrimas contenidas luego de tanto esfuerzo y presión y las convirtió en arte💘💘💘 la amoo😢❤
To people comparing them lets just be honest Maddie was just better because her strength is lyrical while Mackenzie is better at acro so pls don't hate anyone of the two
Maddie was AMAZING at this dance and she performed it when she was a year younger than Mackenzie is here. A lot of people think that Maddie did so much better technically than Mackenzie, and I do too, but I think that the reason behind it is that Kenzie doesn't do lyrical; jazz, hip hop,, and acro are her strong suits.
Also, Maddie performed this dance for a whole year to a different tune (Over the Rainbow) before Dance Moms started. That's a whole lot more time to brush up on technique and perfect the finer points of the solo than Kenzie's two days, regardless of age.
OMG same! The only reason other people didn't like was because they believe everything they see on TV, so even if they thought her version was better, they just wanna agree with eveyone else so they don't feel left out, man those people are stupid. 😕
+xX_AngieThe AwesomeDuck_Xx hey :) no offense but I liked the maddie's version better 🎀 it's a bit mean to call those people stupid 😅 it's kinda a opinion ^^ hope you understand💕
In my opinion.. maddie is a good dancer because she expresses the real emotion of the dance better than anyone else so I can't blame that mackenzie failed to do what maddie did but.... Maybe only a few could understand it but her dance is waaayy better than the original in a lot deeper meaning... what I can see is that Mackenzie puts up a tough shell and acts bratty all the time but on the inside... she is broken and fragile.... she smiles more in the dance when the title is called "cry" but the way her body moves to the song is very emotional than Maddie's as if she's faking her happiness but deep inside, she's crying... Some of you may not see it but you can feel it.. Her smiles are so sweet but her eyes are crying.. Which is why Melissa never thought of Maddie once when Mackenzie danced because of her mother's instinct.. She saw the real Mackenzie in this piece... I don't understand why Abby didn't felt when she was a professional dance coach... Well maybe he already lost her true emotion long ago that's why she compared Mackenzie to Maddie that she doesn't felt what she felt when Maddie performed it... Favoritism... Anyways... This dance moved me and I think the reason why Mackenzie doesn't show the emotional face more like Maddie nor show up emotions when she dance a lyrical piece is because she wanted to show that she's strong and she doesn't want anyone to pity her for being ignore by her mother and always being compared to her sister... I love you Mackenzie!! Keep up the good work!! I know you will be a greater dancer than you ever think you would...
Is it just me who feels so happy that Mackenzie got this dance? I love that two sisters performed the same choreography. A dance that's being given down the line especially in the family makes me happy. Honestly, I'm weird.
Erin Brown 2:02 Mackenzie just wasn't given enough instruction on how to properly express. She was given "DO the Maddies face" which is not helpful at all. She needed to learn her own emotions and only really showed that a couple times in this dance.
