☝🏼His response to the video editing not showing your reaction is the style or what a Obi Wan would/did say when he could not find info while looking thru the archives at the Jedi temple and it was missing. Funny how he tied both together.
Holy crap! Now there’s a connection I never made before! I have been a fan most of my life and watch a lot of deep dive StarWars content, but that little nugget is a new one to me, now I get to go and beat myself up for missing that all these years. Lol
@@albedo5455 except he did die. as obiwan and anakin. yet you can see obi wan and anakin at the end of ep6. while they returned to the force, the emperor could'nt because siths don't have the eternal life.
Anakin never hated Obi Wan. That's why he let him take the high ground and made that stupid jump towards him. He wanted to loose somehow so Obi Wan can live. Anakin did that circus fight just to trick the emperor to make him believe Anakin is loyal. If Anakin wasn't loyal to the emperor he would kill him. Anakin knew that very well. Anakin last words to Obi Wan were "May The Force be with you" and Obi Wan's were "Goodbye old friend, may the force be with you" ... "I hate you" were Vader's
The fact that you cried throughout the whole Anakin vs Obi fight really shows what the characters meant to you. I don't think I've ever seen a reactor so invested in it, you really respect and love the series. Welcome to the fandom! Further proof of how timeless Star Wars is.
@@ShadowNova300 @Armydude300 I meant that this is his last words to Anakin before Palpatine gave him his new name, and doing the atrocities and stuff.
Don't worry. We all cried as well. When you come to love this story and the characters it hurts like hell when you see what happens to them. Every time Obi-Wan says "You were my brother Anakin, I loved you" I cry like a baby.
@@MagicMagy It's the same actor too. Ian McDiarmid was in his 30s when he played the Emperor in Return Of The Jedi and Episode 1 came out 16 years later and he was the right age then the play the "young" Emperor.
@@MagicMagy when i first saw Star Wars i watch the Prequels first then the Originals so i knew So I understand, but their were hints to Palpatine being Sidious: at Qui-gon funeral the camera zooms in on his face when yoda and Mace are talking about the Sith, the death star plans Dooku gives Sidious, Dooku’s look of fear when he orders Anakin to kill him, the tale he tells Anakin about Darth Plagueis
The fall of Anakin to the dark side and the fight between him and Obi Wan was some of the most heart breaking moments in the Star Wars story. Your open reaction is what everybody was feeling. Thank you for being such a fan of a universe that I grew up with. I've really enjoyed sharing this journey with you.
It sure was heartbreaking no matter how many times you watch it. Because of the prequels we got to know the character of anakin Skywalker thus making it all the more difficult when he turned to the dark side
The beauty of this prequel is that they showed Anakin to be a highly skilled pilot and Jedi. His turn to the dark side and his final scene with Obi-wan showed the final push. Only his hate kept him alive long enough to be rescued by the Emperor.
Wow, what a genuine reaction. Don't be ashamed that you cried during this one, that means you were truly invested and truly cared for these characters. This might actually be my favorite reaction to this film, tied with Mary Cherry.
That's actually Jesus' quote. Almost word for word. Star wars is an inherently satanic story. It's basically the story of the Messiah as viewed from Satan's perspective. With Anakin representing Christ the Son and Palpatine representing God the Father, leading an army of white soldiers, which represent white people, the people that created and spread Christianity worldwide, governing the Empire, which represents Christendom, ruled by a hereditary order of Sith Lords, representing the papacy. Hell, they outright use a name very similar to one of the popes for one Sith lord (Darth Plagueis and pope Pelagius) and the name Vader, which means father in dutch, which is also how priests are reffered to as in Christianity. Of course in the story they're all presented as evil. From Satan's point of view, the only way Christ can "redeem" himself is by throwing his Father into the bottomless pit, just like the one Satan was cast into. This of course, happens through Vader throwing Palpatine down the reactor shaft. Very disturbing stuff !
Not to mention the grandmaster of the "good guys" is a little green demonspawn called "Yoda" which is one of the variations of the name "Judah"(which appeares in that form in Jesus' genealogy), yknow, the guy that sold Jesus out and got him killed.
What I always found disturbing was that they gave one baby a name that was obviously part of Anakin's lineage, and left him out in the open basically. The other baby they left in relative seclusion in a politically powerful world. So basically the plan was to leave Luke out there in case Vader actually came looking for a child of his, while leaving Leia to grow up to lead Alderaan.
@@theevilascotcompany9255 They sent Anakin Skywalker's Skywalker son, Luke Skywalker, to live with the Skywalker family on Anakin Skywalker's home planet on the Skywalker farm. Helluva hiding spot. lol
This reaction is SO PURE. I've really loved it. Anakin's fall to the dark side is really hearthbreaking, listening to Obi Wan's "you were my brother Anakin, I've loved you" always hit me hard... Really looking forward to next reactionts. Much love Magy!
The saddest moment for me is Anakin finding out Padme dies, and by his hand. Truly the realization that you sacrificied everything good in the world for nothing, all that effort pointless and you have nothing left except the literal loss of your humanity and the consequences of your actions.
As a life long Star Wars fan your reaction to Ani’s fall to the dark side is one of the most wholehearted ones I’ve seen; George created Star Wars to connect us all with each other and with our inner selves.
Someone should find a way for George Lucas to watch this reaction. I think he would really appreciate it. Also--I think you missed a nice touch during Padme's funeral. She's holding the little wooden carving that Anakin made for her when he was a boy.
@@zimvader25 after the first season or two, it gets way better. Plus, it goes in to the specifics of lightsaber combat a lot better than any other visual media.
Story of Anakin Skywalker. Episode 1: Fear Episode 2: Anger Episode 3: Hatred Episode 4: Pain Episode 5: Suffering Episode 6: Redemption His mother, died His loved one, gone forever His brother, grew hatred against him His home, burned to ashes His beliefs, used against him His soul, corrupted by anger and fear His hopes and dreams, destroyed forever From this young boy, who had dreams of becoming a Jedi, to bring freedom and balance, who was meant to be the most powerful Jedi ever to becoming the most Feared man in the galaxy. His soul filled with Hate, Pain, Fear and Suffering. The Emperor's puppet and a slave to the Dark Side. He had no reason to live. But learning that Luke's his son gave him hope and with that he defeated the Emperor and brought balance to the force as he was meant to do. Slave to the Hutts, slave to the Jedi's code and slave to the Dark Side. But it in the end when seeing his son with his own eyes, he was no longer a slave. He was free. He was called many things. A son, student, husband, brother, friend, father but most importantly he was Anakin Skywalker, THE CHOSEN ONE.
Even Anakin realized he was going down a bad path, but his desperation to Padme, someone he loves dearly, after failing to save his mom from a similar vision, drove him to continue downward.
And it's not like the Jedi were faultless or anything. He had really quite a bad relationship with most of them, he saw the worst of the Jedi order. Then when Mace Windu was going to execute an apparently helpless prisoner, what difference was left between the Jedi and the Sith?

I agree and this is why I don't think you should watch in release order, this is a big downer if this is your end of the series (let's not consider the sequels, shall we?). If you watch in 123456 order, who cares about the big reveal in Empire, when you have all the emotional context of Anakin's full story? However you watch Star Wars in this order or machete order, Episode 6 should be your ending point.
cant agree more and it makes me feel better to know i'm not the only one who balled at the end rather then finding it "cringy and forced" as people often say.
I will say that I had a lot of tears ,but the camera can’t catch them, you can only see them in my eyes and about the kids I am now seeing that it was cut in the editing 😥
Fun fact: The scene where Obi Wan delivers Luke to his uncle and aunt on Tatooine is actually shot during the filming of episode 2 so they didn't have to go all the way to Tunisia to film one scene
If you could fake that, you'd be winning an Academy Award, not on RU-vid! You literally could not stop crying, there's no way you faked it. Shame on those people

There’s no shame in crying. It’s okay to cry. I cried along with you too. Revenge of the Sith is a masterpiece. George Lucas did a great job with this movie.
Yes, you can actually die of a broken heart. It's called stress-induced cardiomyopathy or takotsubo cardiomyopathy. :( Beautiful reaction btw. This may of been the first time I teared up watching someone else react to episode 3.
Padme said, "There's good in him.", signifying that she had hope for her husband. She also had just given birth to twins. It would be illogical to assume she died of 'heartache' or 'heartbreak'.
@@mattrismatt well they did say she lost the will to live. she could have hope for Anakin and her children but still already be heartbroken. Sometimes it's not so black and white. It's perfectly possible to have hope for someone who's done something terrible and it not improve your mental state. @@morningstarxiv342 That's very likely. Though from a story perspective, Palpatine simply wanted Anakin to turn to _and stay_ in the dark side. Killing Padme was the means to that end.
Yes, we tried to warn you that you weren't ready for this movie. But I truly appreciate that you were brave and watched it and weren't afraid to cry. First time I watched it, I cried. Natalie did such a good job and that "Anakin, you're breaking my heart" gets me emotional every time. And seeing you cry at that scene made me cry at it again. Also, when you mentioned that Natalie looked so pretty it made me realize that you're even more pretty and would make an EXCEPTIONAL Padme cosplay. I would absolutely love to see you in that white outfit she wore during the big fight scene of Episode 2.
I had arguments with friends back when TPM came out over it. Even through AOTC. They didn't even care that I pointed out it was Ian McDiarmid and that Senator Palpatine had the same name as Emperor Palpatine. And that he was, you know, ascending to power. lol It was bizarre how much they resisted it. So she's definitely not the first.
I picked up on it first time I watched Episode 1. However only because I recognised Ian McDiarmid from Return of The Jedi and thought it couldn't be just coincidence that they have thr same actor back.
I knew it was the same actor and knew that the Emperor’s name was Palpatine. However, I was thinking of the prologue to the original Star Wars novel. It said that once in power, Palpatine was controlled by others and did not hear the pleas of the people. I was considering the possibility that Sidious was controlling Palpatine, or would take his place at some point.
The first time that I watched this movie, a single tear rolled down my cheek when Darth Vader screamed "Noooo!!" because he learned Padme had died. A scream of anger and sadness. Great reaction! Wish you the best.💐
People wonder why I always prefer the prequels to the OT? Because in the end, the OT doesn't give us the same emotional weight, where even with the meh dialogue, the prequels tell an overall better story.
The originals are definitely emotional if you grew up with them. Unfortunately the big hitting twists and turns are ruined by pop culture but you can't do much about that.

“His fate will be the same as ours” He had no idea how right he was. All 3 of them died on a death star. The jedi may have been the good guys but they were very flawed. Dooku would have taken out Palpatine, had he not been killed by Anakin... Even more, if Obi Wan had sided with Dooku in ATOC, the whole clone war could have been avoided, and the Sith eliminated
Any one else ever notice the 3 "main" villians, which were the sith apprentices in this prequel trilogy, were all caricures of different aspects of darth vader. Darth Maul: the rage, anger and fury of Vader. Count Dooku/Darth Tyranus: the Regal, lordly and more human aspect of vader. And lastly Greivous: the inhuman cyborg aspect of Vader. also of note , Vader's anger, rage and fury aspect as well as his cyborg aspect were beaten by Obi Wan, and his Lordly, human aspect was beaten by himself. maybe i'm reading to much into that last bit. but the first part was definitely intentional on Lucas's part.
If you want to know what happened between episode II and III you should definitely watch animated Star Wars show The Clone Wars. Reactions would be probably a too much to ask for, because the show is 7 seasons long, but that's up to you. There are some very interesting characters including a padawan of Anakin called Ahsoka Tano.
Not only does it introduce Ahsoka, it also brings back a certain fan favorite half Sith ;) if you know then you know Also I would recommend watching the 2003 Clone Wars, it isn’t as important as the 2008 one but it’s still relatively enjoyable to watch, not only that but it is a lot shorter than the 2008 Clone Wars, I’m sure if you wanted to you could watch the entire 2003 one in just a single day however if you don’t watch it I understand, also it is unfortunately no longer cannon
It's more than when you die you obviously keep the shape you died with so her belly wouldn't deflate. After all, most pregnant women's belly becomes flat again only after one or 2 days Also you should check out Grievous' backstory, he was a comic relief villain there but in his backstory comics where you see him until he would become a cyborg, you would feel for him and understand why he was led to hate Jedi to the point of killing them and collecting their sabers, he was like a sort of Darth Vader foreshadowing (like Lucas himself wanted)
I have seen a lot of people's reaction to Star wars for the first time congratulations! You nailed it your brain explodes when you realize Palpatine is The Emperor is Priceless 👏 It's really cool to look back at Return of the Jedi after watching this "There's good in him" - Padme "I feel the conflict in you let go of your hate" - Luke and if it puts a smile on your face Remember how Anakin/Vader on Mustafar says "I am more powerful than the chancellor I can overthrow him!"..20 some year's later..He does😂 Great reaction 👏
The Jedi Council definitely let Anakin down, you’re right about that. In my opinion they failed him more than he failed them. I always appreciated how Padme sees the good in Anakin that shows up way later when he saves Luke from the emperor.
They gave him a lot of grace for his disrespectful attitude and random outbreaks. Keep in mind that they also let him train as a Jedi even though it didn’t feel good to them.
@@talondiwisch5206 Are you really taking the side of the politically corrupt Jedi Order, with their faulty Jedi code, over the victim Anakin? Let me explain. The Jedi code forbids attachment, mourning, personal love, etc. Human beings by nature need loving relationships. Anakin was a boy who was ripped from his only loving figure, his mother, has no father, then, Qui Gonn, the man who took him under his wing and was going to be a father figure to him dies, and a young still padawan Obi Wan trains him as an “older brother.” Anakin is constantly told that attachment is wrong when it is not. Attachment is the reason Luke defeated Vader, and the reason Vader turned to help Luke. Attachment is what Luke had, that Yoda and Obi Wan did not have, and it is what allowed Luke to see the possibilities for Vader. There is no question that attachments can cloud judgment in the moment, as Kanan outlines in Rebels, but the denial of attachment in the prequel Jedi Order is one of the main philosophical shortcomings that caused them to fail Anakin. Palpatine took advantage of this Jedi teaching because he knew Anakin needed attachments that he lacked his whole life, no father figure, loss of his mother, and the fear of losing Padme. It wasn’t Anakin’s attachment to Padme that got him into the dark side. It was his fear of losing the only attachment he had, because he had no other attachments, and he could not go to anyone for understanding or help because all he got back was basically “let go of everything you love (fear to lose)” -Yoda. He is literally told “MOURN THEM DO NOT, MISS THEM DO NOT.” Yeah that sounds very graceful and human to say to Anakin, no faulty at all. “Your dreams about people dying are nothing, certainly not a manipulation from the dark side which we and our politically corrupt order are blind to.” Trust us! “Our ability to use the force is diminished,” (Mace Windu quote), clearly you can trust what we say! Self control is one thing, but that is not what this was. For Anakin, fear led to anger, which led to hate, which led to suffering. But because he had no healthy way of letting out his fear or anger, it developed into hate. And he was convinced by Yoda that this was the only way this path can take, the exact progression that cannot be stopped or redeemed. But Luke, who was trained much older than Anakin, and grew up with FAR DEEPER ATTACHMENTS THAN ANAKIN, proves Yoda wrong. Yoda said Anakin was too old... Something is clearly off! For Luke in Return of the Jedi, he feared for Leia (attachment), got angry at Vader to defeat him, and let go of his hate to avoid the dark side. That’s why Obi Wan says “don’t give in to *hate* specifically.” And why Luke says to Vader “I feel the conflict within you, let go of your *hate* specifically.” This is the whole point of Sidious constantly saying “give in to your *hatred* specifically,” because he knows that that is where the line truly is, and that Jedi have been taught for generations that fear and anger is the line of no return. Once people give a little bit, his manipulation can take effect because they feel like they already failed. This is why Sidious is so shocked, and respects Luke more than the hypocritical order, when Luke draws the line correctly at hatred. “So be it... Jedi.” Luke chose not to turn dark, BECAUSE of his attachments. Luke grew up with attachments that Anakin did not. The very fulfillment of the Chosen One Prophecy through Anakin was achieved through the subversion of the failed attachment philosophy of the politically corrupt and failed Jedi Order. This is the entire point of Star Wars. Family, connection, attachment, love, and hope. To accept the prequel Jedi philosophy on attachment is to deny the point of Star Wars. The “esteemed and wise Yoda” didn’t believe in redemption from the dark side. “Forever will it dominate your destiny.” Thankfully, he was self aware of his hypocrisy, and he knew that HE was the one who failed the Jedi Order, as he said in Revenge of the Sith. If you call all of this disaster they gave him “grace for his attitude” then you are looking at Star Wars backwards. The Jedi Order failed Anakin. Anakin held up the Jedi code when confronting Sidious more than Mace Windu did, he was going to kill Sidious! Which is “not the Jedi way” as Anakin says according to THEIR code. They can’t even stick to their code. Mace says “he’s too dangerous to be left alive,” which in no coincidence, is exactly what Palpatine says to Anakin about Dooku. “He’s too dangerous to be left alive.” The hypocrisy of the Jedi Order is the problem. Not Anakin. In a healthy system, Anakin would not have turned to the dark side. The system failed him, he didn’t fail the system.
@@gurgashmire I completely agree with everything you said. The Jedi Order had become arrogant, too rigid, too dogmatic, and too subservient to corrupt senators. Yoda realized that he was partly at fault for the downfall of the Jedi because he never allowed it to change, to evolve, to reform itself. Dooku was right about the corruption in the senate, and how the Jedi had become too detached and increasingly out of touch with the average people of the galaxy.
@@jmwilliamsart Of course, Dooku was doing the thing where the bad guy points out legitimate problems for the sake of sowing doubt in the good guy, not that he was a good guy himself.
It's very ironic and sad that Anakin was the reason Padme dies when he was only trying to save her from the death he feared. In a way everything bad that happened was because he and the jedi council were trying to prevent something from happening. If the Jedi Council didn't worry about him and fear him so much all this probably wouldn't have happened.
Based on your reactions, I think you would really like "Rogue One" and "The Mandalorian". Don't really want to see you crying again though. That's a heart breaker!
"You can die because of that" Sadly, it's more true in Star Wars than you can imagine. Carrie Fisher died December 27th 2016 and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, died December 28th 2016. It was a real sad period for Star Wars fans. Our princess died & her mother struck with the heartache died like less than a day later.
Padme said, "There's good in him.", signifying that she had hope for her husband. She also had just given birth to twins. It would be illogical to assume she died of 'heartache' or 'heartbreak'.
@@mattrismatt there is a fan theory that Palpatine killed her through the force or some sith sorcery. To pull life energy from her to Anakin to save him or something
@@mattrismatt This is pure fan canon on my part but Anakin was very possessive and I think he had a kind of Force bond with Padme that neither of them were actually aware of and when she broke free and he snapped, the Force bond was shattered and that's essentially what killed her. The medical droid says it can't explain what's happening. If she's physically healthy then it must have been some effect of the Force that killed her, thus what the Emperor says is actually kind of true, Vader did kill her.
"The Dark Side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural." Gives me chills every time. Love that opera scene. Magy, no llora tanto, querida! The story has a happy ending after all! I'm surprised that you never got wise to Palpatine long before the reveal but it yielded a great shocked reaction! Lucas provided visual and vocal cues since "Phantom Menace" that Palpatine and Sidious were one and the same. Ian McDiarmid plays the Emperor in all the Star Wars films in which he appears. He's the one character having a total blast throughout the prequels because he's pulling everybody's strings! His seduction of Anakin is masterful. Chronologically, "Solo" is next, then "Rogue One", then "The Mandalorian", then the Sequel trilogy. See the films in that order then go back to the two animated series, "Clone Wars" and "Rebels". There are revelations in "The Mandalorian" that will make you curious to see their origins in the animated shows afterwards. The absolute best line of the Prequel trilogy goes to Natalie Portman: "So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause." Wookiees live for hundreds of years! In "Revenge of the Sith", Chewbacca is 181 years old! It is a popular belief that Padme's life force was drained out of her and channeled into Anakin by Palpatine which is why her death and his re-birth are juxtaposed by Lucas. Therefore, Palpy is directly responsible for the death of the person he convinced Anakin he could save prompting his betrayal of the Jedi in the first place! A very cruel manipulation. One of the Jedi Order's problems is that they had become ossified by dogma and had lost touch with their true purpose. This made them vulnerable to manipulation by the Sith and blind to their own shortcomings. Iconoclasts like Qui-Gon sought esoteric knowledge beyond ordained teachings to plumb deeper truths and were viewed as troublesome for suggesting the Order had become complacent and stagnant. The knowledge Yoda imparts to Obi-Wan at the end is his discovery of the path to immortality. His spiritual journey is chronicled in the animated "Clone Wars" when Liam Neeson returns as Qui-Gon Jinn's spirit to instruct Yoda in the deepest mysteries of the Force. Jedi immortality manifests as the Force-ghosts you see in the Classic trilogy. This was an ability unknown to the Order until Qui-Gon contacts Yoda which is why there are no Force-ghosts in the Prequel trilogy. The Jedi are all but exterminated by Order 66 much like how the Knights Templar were rounded up on a single day, Friday the 13th, in October 1307, by order of the French King Philip IV in a series of coordinated, simultaneous arrests. Emperor Palpatine initiated a smear campaign to vilify the Jedi and expunged any mention of them from the historical record. Philip IV did the same to the Templars demonizing them with false allegations of larceny, murder, sexual perversion, sedition and Satanism that led to their mass burning at the stake with the blessing of the Papacy! Palpy achieved control of a galaxy with his scheme while Philip was simply dodging the crushing debt he owed the Order! The clones are tragic pawns in Palpatine's scheme. They were bred by the Republic and were loyal to their creators serving through thick and thin with their Jedi Generals. The animated "Clone Wars" does a magnificent job of individualizing the troopers. However, they were engineered with a fail-safe to force them to obey executive decisions without question. Initiating Order 66 flips the switch in their brains forcibly turning them against the Jedi whom they previously would have died for. It's a horrifying betrayal not least of which to the clones themselves. Although the Separatist leadership was led by Count Dooku, they weren't privy to the collusion between Dooku and Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. Each Sith Lord led a faction in the Clone Wars to play both sides against each other creating chaos they could manipulate to their personal advantage! The populations of the worlds which aligned with one faction or the other truly believed in their respective causes which were socioeconomic and geopolitical. The layman had no idea he was just a pawn in Palpatine's grand scheme. With the Jedi exterminated, the greatest threat to his plan was taken off the board and he sent Vader to dispose of the Separatist leadership so he could consolidate power over the organizations they represented. The Separatist worlds relied on the support of those industries and institutions so those worlds would fall in line once those support systems were firmly in the Emperor's grip. Senator Bail Organa orders C-3PO's mind to be wiped but R2-D2's CPU is left intact. Artoo REMEMBERS EVERYTHING!

There’s a lot of speculation that Palpatine used the force to kill Padme, because Padme would’ve been the last one able to return Anakin to the Light. Others think Palpatine used the force to drain the life out of her to save Anakin. Personally, I believe Palpatine killed her and that was his plan all along. Deprive Anakin of anyone that loves him and enslave him in a suit of your design that fuels his hatred, anger, and pain.
@@deathsticks1776 No, the movie spelled out the cause of death. Compilation in pregnancy with a lack of a will to live. There is no ambiguity about it. It actually makes more poetic sense too considering it was Anakins actions driven by his fears that brought about the death of his wife. SELF fulfilling prophecy.
Mandalorian is really good, it should make you feel better after this. Rogue One is good but its kinda sad. Just remember that Star Wars ends with Anakin turning back to the light side and defeating the Emperor
@@Agtsmirnoff yes it is, he was thrown down a reactor shaft and exploded in the death star II, then the death star II exploded. Vader saved the galaxy, luke, han, and leia celebrated. and nothing happened after that.... ever... (sequels never happened, they were written as well as a fucking Wattpad fanfic.)
@@Retroholic but what about the Mandalorian, because that story happens after the destruction of the second Deathstar? Star Wars is so much more, some people like that part of star wars, others like different parts and that's valid. I myself don't really like the sequels, but they are still part of star wars. And everyone should have the chance to see everything with open eyes and then decide for themselves what they like and what they don't like
@@nilsbosch25 The sequels are outside of established lore. Ep 7 is good, though it still has some notable flaws - specifically involving Rey - but Ep 8 was an intentional sabotage of the trilogy, and an insult to everything that came before it. JJ tried to set things right in Ep 9, but KK edited the film behind his back. That's why they aren't doing *anything* with the sequels. No spin-offs, no toys, no marketing or promotions... FavloniVerse and The Mandalorian have already begun retconning the sequels, and the films themselves are going to be edited to fit the changes made by FavloniVerse. So, until FavloniVerse is done, there are no sequels.
When you see Anakin go, "YOU'RE the Sith Lord!", you can see Palpatine's hand instinctively twitch as if he was about to use Force Lightning, but resisted doing so
Pretty sharp of you to pick up that they left her pregnant on purpose, so that Palpatine would believe the children died. In the script, Yoda and Obiwan say this, but in the movie they don't for some reason, and it does not communicate it well. Really amazing reaction btw, it makes me feel like this is truly the most powerful movie in the series. Saw it when I was 12 in theaters
To be fair Magy, nearly every reactor cries at this movie, and often more than once. You really feel the weight of all 6 films come together in this episode, and how things could have been different but were never to be. I would encourage you to watch the Disney films, though people are not as complimentary of these movies as the old ones. Rogue One is the exception, which I have to agree with.
Dang, if it’s that heartbreaking now, imagine after seeing The Clone Wars. She’s gonna bawl. Fantastic reaction, Magy! The most genuine reaction I’ve ever seen to anything!
I forget how emotional this film actually was because I've seen it like a thousand times. I first saw it in Cinema's when I was only 5/6 years old, somehow my mum sneaked me in, but I didn't understand much apart from just the cool fights. But I remember a few years after when I was at an age to kind of understand it a bit more and I watched it again and I can guarantee I cried a lot.
Anakin got to the point where he was so full of hatred about everything he had to destroy everything around him. Even to the point he had his hands around his wife's neck. How far do you stoop to get to that. The terrible pain and lack of self-respect he was going through is unimaginable.
Watch Star Wars the Clone Wars, is an animated series but really good to explain a lot of things about Anakin becoming Darth Vader. It's really good beside of the shows.
There is a comic that takes place right after Vader gets into the suit and Sidious tells him Padme is dead, Vader lashes out with the force and attacks Sidious then lets him go. Sidious proceeds to electrocute and torture Vader telling him if he touched him with the force again he would kill him. That shows you the relationship between those two, right off the start Vader was conditioned to fear Sidious.
27:00 I've watched Star Wars A LOT and seen plenty react but I have NEVER seen someone cry at this part. Wow. You get it. This is incredible to see. Thank you so much!
Why! I have no interest in seeing a reaction as I'm sure most people don't. That's why Lucas didn't show it in the movie only the suggestion was there which was bad enough.
The power of the storytelling and characters in Star Wars. Such an emotional film and was so moving to see such a pure reaction. Also have to mention the John Williams soundtrack which is incredible
Fun fact: when the mask is being sealed onto Vader, if you listen very carefully you can hear him call out "Padme, help me!" But because of his damaged throat and vocal cords, he can only manage to get out a raspy whisper.
