Hi. This was so much fun. I really love the Shrek movies, those are more on the funny side, and not the sad. Also the Cars series or Monsters Inc. These are the ones that I watched so much as a kid. There is a new pixar movie Lightyear coming up in the summer, you probably heard of it, because it has Chris Evans in it. I´m excited for that.

As a parent, the scene with Joy crying over all the fading early-childhood memory balls in the pit DESTROYS me. There is something unbearably poignant about the fact that you have all these incredibly precious memories from that time, but your kid can't recall them. My son had two imaginary friends-- Boy and Alligator-- but now, at age 15, he doesn't remember that at all.
@jacksonzarse8098

Wait that's kind of funny cause I still remember having an imaginary Alligator friend named Alligator as well. the only reason I remember is I kind of forced myself too but now I wonder how common of an imaginary friend that is for children

Sadness wasn’t really messing anything up. Feeling sad when you move away from your friends and your home is healthy. Which is why sadness couldn’t help but touch the memories and try to take control. What Joy was doing and becoming was Toxic positivity/Happiness. It’s not okay to always be cheerful. If this had continue, at some point Riley would’ve become either completely numb or depressed. So letting her become sad time to time is alright. But joy wasn’t letting that happen at all. The core memories became blue and yellow because now they represent nostalgia for Riley. I like how this movie showed that not everything is so simple as happy, anger, fear, sadness or disgust. Any event that happens can bring about multiple emotions. Fun fact: Did you notice that sadness was in control in the moms head? It means mom looks towards things in life with compassion. That’s her go to emotion. While in the dad’s head, it’s anger. Which means discipline is the main emotion when it comes to life.
@Icybubba
@Icybubba 2 года назад
Yep, while Riley was never clinically depressed here, when she ran away she absolutely experienced an episode of depression
@rafaelmatos5851
@rafaelmatos5851 Год назад
Mom's main emotion being sadness is more than just compassion, it's sensitivity, the ability to choose the right words to calm others or not offend them. During dinner, Mom's Sadness was the one to keep the other emotions calm and direct them on the best approach to try to figure out what was going on with Riley and make her comfortable to open up with them without invading her privacy too much.

The way I ugly cried when Bing Bong jumped out of the cart the first time I watched this movie tho, heck even now rewatching it I'm tearing up. But honestly, Inside Out is such a great story about human emotions. You can't be always positive and happy, being vulnerable and feeling sad can be healthy too.

@julieornelas3787

Sad memory, but I remembered my parents argued a lot when I was younger, and I thought I was to blame for it. So…I attempted to run away. I didn’t know where to go, I didn’t have a plan. Instead, I headed back home and cried my eyes out to my parents saying, “I’m sorry I keep messing up, I understand if you don’t want me anymore, you’re better off without me.” Mom and Dad gave me big hugs and kisses and told me that they will always love me no matter what. 🥺😭 So that scene, brings that memory back and makes me bawl my eyes out because of the love and support from my parents.

Exaaactlyyyy, that scene hits hard. And that was the most important scene as well, that was the moment where Happiness realized that you can't be happy at everything and sadness isn't always a bad thing, there are certain times where you should just let it out.

This is also a good movie to re-watch, because there's so much here you can't catch it all the first time. For example, the adults' emotions are all seated at their console. Each has an assigned place, and they work together. In kids, the emotions are not seated; they are just wandering around, doing whatever. Kids' emotions are literally all over the place. Great reaction.

this is my favorite Pixar film; I am a 33 year old mexican man and yet I deeply identify with Riley, a 12 year old girl from northern US because I went through a similar experience as a child. According to some people online (that are idiots and have a unhealthy view of gender/ethnicity/etc.) that shouldn't be possible.
@vaishnavisingh9244
@vaishnavisingh9244 2 года назад
this! I always feel so connected to people no matter the gender who have gone through similar stuff and there was this dude yesterday telling me that just because I am not a dude, I don't have the right to speak up about any aspect of feeling isolated or belittled or just "lesser" in general because "girls don't go through that stuff". I do think we ALL felt like Riley at some point in our lives, and it's weird to always think that we are not capable of feeling certain way cause of gender/ethnicity (I am Asian lol)/etc.

This movie is INCREDIBLE with color theory. Riley: striped shirt as they're moving with all colors on them to show theyre in harmony, or so it seems. yellow jacket on the first day of school because she's still young enough to be excited. Striped shirt sans blue and yellow at the dinner table because all of her emotions are fighting for control with joy and sadness gone. Black jacket because she's emotionally shutting down. Emotions: joy has blue hair, backing up the theory joy and sadness go hand in hand. Disgust has a purple ascot, suggesting disgust is mainly motivated by what scares us. Anger is wearing a red tie showing how when were angry, we can't see, hear, or feel anything else. Think, "seeing red". And finally Sadness is wearing a white turtleneck as a combination of all the emotions, like how all light is combined to make white light.

One small detail I love is the glimpse into the mother and father’s brains. Joy may be the leader in Riley’s brain. But sadness is the leader of her mom’s brain and rage is the leader of the dads. Just a simple depiction of how different personality types operate, that’s subtle and digestible for kids.

I adore this film, especially because it portrays ALL emotions as having something worthwhile to contribute - there are no "good" emotions or "bad" emotions. Anger gives us passion to fight back against injustice, fear keeps us safe, disgust helps us sense when a situation isn't good for us, and sadness signals to others when we need help (and helps us feel bad for others in return). It's such a brilliant way to think constructively about our feelings - all while telling a damn good story. :)

I love this movie. It's fantastical, but in its way it's a really accurate depiction of depression, and I say that both as somebody who's had it for decades and as a mental health professional. You start by trying to block out one painful emotion--IME usually sadness or anger--and then all your emotions start shutting down and you find yourself numb and kind of paralyzed. And the only way out, long term, is to learn what that emotion is for and how to let yourself experience it.

All the memories turn blue because they are in the past and she realizes they won't come back. Sadness was important at that moment because Riley needed it to move on. It's like feeling nostalgic about something. It's not an entirely bad feeling, but it has its hint of sadness. The part where the control table goes off, represents depression very well. At that moment she is not able to feel anything and things don't seem to work as they should. It is also worth noting that sadness does not just mean pure and simple sadness. In the scene where she is with Bing Bong, we can see that she also represents empathy.

Bing Bong's "death" scene was what hit me the most, if only because it reminded me of my own imaginary friends that I can scarcely remember now. I was a shy, awkward kid who wasn't good at making friends, hence I made up my own. And they legitimately helped me get through some rough times in the hours I was alone in small, quiet house. Inside Out was definitely a film that I enjoy having a good cry watching - especially since it's one of the few times you don't really get judged when you do bawl a bit. As for movie recommendations...... I would DEFINITELY recommend "Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'hoole"! It's a 3d-animated film directed by Zack Snyder in 2010. It's got unbelievably gorgeous animation and cinematography that holds up incredibly well despite its age, packed with beautiful cinematography and some honestly awesome fight scenes involving talking owls. I've only ever seen 3 reactions to this movie and I think it's a mighty shame. It'll be a treat to watch, honestly! Other than that, you could try out the Irish Folkore trilogy released by Cartoon Saloon! They're 2D-animated and incredibly unique in its design and animation. Chronologically, the three movies are: "The Secret of Kells", "Song of the Sea", and "Wolfwalkers".

There’s a really good detail about the parent’s emotions compared to Riley’s. Since the parent’s emotions aren’t suppressed like Riley’s (hence the chaos that ensues) they’re much more controlled and mature. Notice the mom’s dominant emotion is sadness, yet she’s not constantly sad. The same rule applies for anger and the dad.

It can mean two things Either Riley is questioning..And once she figures out her gender...Her emotions will become the gender she is sure of or it means she is not one of the two genders also Riley's emotions are childish and immature(which is why at first sadness may have come off as irritating but she was just curious..Also that is indeed what we feels sometimes) unlike her parents whose emotions are very controlled and stuff.. Cause these emotions are children as well.. the emotions are as old as they are

I am one with Sadness. I was amazed to realize that Sadness was COMPELLED to touch Rileys old memories because it's what Riley NEEDED to heal and grow up, but she was trying not too to make mom and dad happy which it did not. Toxic positivity is always important to talk about and the movie showed that as well

9:05 Seb, the word “Gatinha” means “cutie”. We use that a lot here in Brazil. You can also use the word GatinhO (with O at the end). It has the same meaning, but it’s used for men. ;)

The part where Bing Bong disappears is really sad but also kind of the truth. Bing Bong is probably a memory of Riley when she was something like 4 or 5, so now that she’s 11, she forgets the happy memories when she was younger because sometimes humans have to grow up.

As an army brat, I was always the new kid in school. I related far too well when Riley broke down in front of her new class... This film was amazing at capturing exactly what that moment feels like... Also, the cat at the very end of the film is probably my favorite scene

I love that Pixar animators consulted and worked with child psychologists & used real scientific concepts & examples to write the script for this movie, watching as a child is different as watching as an adult as you understand the psychology of the show in more depth, including that you can be affected by toxic positivity & sometimes need to feel sadness to feel Joy, a true masterpiece in animation

I've seen this movie many times. I have seen MANY reactions. I'll tell you. I can be happy AF and the moment Bing Bong pops up, I will break down in 0.02 seconds. This movie never fails to make me cry. I think more than anything because even though I didn't have an imaginary friend, there are still so many emotions that I relate to. But also as someone who is very empathetic. I can't watch Seb cry without it making me cry 😢😭 Which is fine, Seb. I appreciate you and your genuine reactions ❤😊

Literally my favorite pixar movie, I watch it whenever i'm feeling low and it helps me feel better because it reminds me that it's okay to not be 100% happy all the time and that crying or feeling sad it's as importan as feeling happy sometimes. I just found out your channel with this video and I now I wanna watch more from you! Great video!

I remember my pedagogy or psychology teacher requested this movie for the whole group and said: If you don't watch this, you won't pass your exam, this is brilliant. Of course it didn't matter wether you watched it or not, but I'm glad I did.😊 Loved your reaction again Seb😊

I think the fear of coins comes from the dolls and the fear of porsolin dolls, mainly the fact they are usually clowns ps desa vue is when you see something twice in the same way like two cats in the same fur walks in the same direction.

Such a great Movie. Cried so hard over Bing Bong. "Take her to the Moon for me" broke me completely. Happiness/Joy can also be toxic if you try to suppress every other emotion. Everything needs to be balanced.
