idk how many times i've watched this, and yet i still cry. and this is coming from someone that isn't a sone, but simply a kpop fan who has been around since their ot9 days. imagining the pain all the sones must've had went through during that time hurts so bad.
This is the only SNSD's video that I'm so scare to watch. All of the things they been through, all the achievements they got together just to have a concert in Tokyo Dome. And SM decided to kick Sica out. My girls desserve a concert in Tokyo Dome, with 9 of them.
Some groups get to Toyko Dome within 2-3 years of debut but it took SNSD 7 years of hard work to get there and unfortunately they couldn’t get there with the 9 of them together tbh I believe that’s why they are sad cuz Jessica isn’t there anymore.

This is probably the most powerful (vocally and emotionally speaking) live performance. Another one is Shinee's performance of From Now on, for their Tokyo Dome performance. It was so emotional for them because it was the song they chose to performed for Jonghyun. It was a tribute to him. Idk... SM groups just have the most heartbreaking stories but they always seem to come back stronger from that. That's why I love the SM family so much. Edit: Fans are probably the most supporting piece to a group, especially in SNSD and Shinee's case. If you watch SNSD's performance of this song for their Phantasia concert and Shinee's performance of replay for their 2018 Tokyo Dome performance, you not only can feel the pain of the members, but of the fans as well.
Sunny makes me sad every time they show her. You can see she's not ready for this. And geez, you know how Taeyeon is. She pours all her emotions into singing so those adlibs are just...heartwrenching.
This performance always makes me cry and I'm not even a sone 😭 Also Tokyo Dome is a HUGE achievement. I know for a lot of artists there are certain venues they dream of being able to perform in in Japan : Budokan Tokyo Dome Nissan Stadium Are a few and having a dome tour is a big deal because they tend to be larger venues (30000+ if I remember right. And Nissan Stadium actually holds 75000)
@Erna Bajric and TVXQ had to go over there and completely start over. No one knew their name. They busted thier asses and set records left and right for them to be the first Korean act to perform at Tokyo Dome. SNSD got there with less of a struggle because of their senior group just like the new groups are doing now. Theres nothing wrong with that, and both SNSD and TVXQ have said they're glad that newer groups dont have to go through the same same struggles they did while promoting overseas. They worked hard for a reason and it wasnt to keep the lock on the door.
The video at the back is kind of just to show their days as trainees, where they came from, to show how far they've gone, and to emphasize that the girls have been with each other since they were literally children. And that their bond with Jessica is that _deep_ Also since Into The New World is their debut song, this song serves a double purpose now 1) to have the fans look back on SNSD's debut and how far the girls have gone, and 2) to compare that to what it means now: "Into The New World without Jessica"
This song just holds so much meaning and memories for these girls and the Kpop world. There’s really no words to describe it. Yes it’s the song they debuted with but there’s so much more behind this song than just signifying their debut. They rehearsed and practiced this song for over a year, and it wasn’t just these 9 girls, there were others who were in the line up for SNSD. So there’s a group of trainees practicing this song in hopes of debut during a time where Kpop wasn’t really a big thing yet and knowing In the back of their mind that they might not debut or be successful. These were the girls who made it and with this song, they literally started a generation.
The night this happened, there probably wasn’t a dry eye in the Tokyo Dome nor in the eyes of their fans around the world. As soon as they finished singing, SONEs that captured this performance spread it on the web like wild fire. It was a moment millions of their fans would never forget holding it dear to their hearts even to this day.
after so many years, revisiting this video just gives me major goosebumps as if this happened yesterday. I can still feel it, the devastation of losing a valued member overnight. What is even crazier is that we'll never know the truth. If she left on her own or be forced out of the group against her will and her members' wills. Either way, still one of the saddest times in kpop history

The video was footage of their pre-debut audition footage. This was the first time they did this song without Jessica. The whole situation is STILL shrouded in incomplete information, misinformation, and heated debate within the fandom. The fact that this version was arranged to reach down your throat, grab your heart, rip it out and show it to you while it's still beating didn't help with their emotions while performing it. I STILL cannot watch this particular performance of this version with witnesses.

Well they are crying because they were supposed to perform in tokyo dome as 9 but then 1 of their member left or kick out (jessica) they cry coz' they miss her..that's why in the 1st part in the song they left 1 space in the middle and real SONE like me will cry hard...but thanks for reacting to this anyways...Girls' Generation is the LEGENDARY girl group of all time....

just for the record into the new world is the korean national anthem. It was SNSD's debut song, and literally the beginning of an era. a beautiful one. 2nd gen is forevre and always the best
I think I've watched this like 30-40 times. I'm still usually crying by the time you see Sunny (bw) lol. If not then, the saranghaes always get me. Or Yoona (bias) at the end. Just so beautiful and sad. I'll punch anyone who I ever see talking shit about Taeyeon not crying. First of all, she did, just not as noticably. Second, she's the leader and had to stay strong for the rest of them. And she did. Because she's the Queen. Soshi forever. OT9 forever. I love you Sunny.
