Cryogen Safety | Liquid Nitrogen transfer: Fill dewar 

When filling an open-mouthed cylinder with liquid nitrogen the steps are generally to: 1) connect to your source, 2) ensure the vapors that buildup during filling can vent out of your container, and 3) open the valve until full. In a closed-mouth dewar you will: 1) open the vent valve, 2) open the valve on your container, and 3) open the valve at the source.
