This sounds like it would play as Krika looks around watching everyone fight, knowing that they'll all die because no one will listen to him. He was literally closer to the truth than anyone else there.
@@notsobadbones I recently bought Krika on BrickLink and everytime I look at him, I hear this alsmost haunting remix. It just fits that good to him and his view on all of this. R.I.P. Krika, if only he could have lived past Mata Nuis awakening. I wonder if he would have rebelled against Teridax alongside the Toa or if he'd remain part of Teridax's forces, though reluctant.
@@Turak500dude absolutely would have rebelled against Teridax. There's no way he would let go of the death of all the other Makuta for Teridax's own spite and ego. If anything I think that'd push Krika over the edge.
I now just realized the connection with the Cryoshell songs. "Creeping In My Soul" alludes to the mutagen leaking into the Pit from Karda Nui. "Closer The Truth" could be in reference to how the Toa are getting closer to awakening Mata Nui, Teridax getting closer to achieving his plan, and the upcoming reveal of the GSR. "Bye Bye Babylon" of course refers to the harsh desert climate of Bara Magna, as well as the challenges Mata Nui must now face to get back home.
Can we just talk about the fact that each bionicle commercial up to Mistika had amazing soundtracks? And Bye Bye Babylon for the Glatorian line was also an absolute amazing piece
Your creeping in my soul was like a bittersweet, haunting lullaby. This feels more like an epic "to be continued" outro to a story. Loving these, conveys the original emotion of each song and then some. Keep em coming

Well, '08 was pretty much "to be continued", as We had an entire year with new characters on an outside world. We had no idea what was happening back in the GSR
I feel like this is the most underrated song from BIONICLE. It perfectly fits the swamp aesthetic and has an air of mystery and eeriness a lot of other songs from the series don’t. It also has a melancholic tone to it that matches the story at the point.

I was 2 in ‘08, so I wasn’t able to experience bionicle until the very very end with the stars. I watched the old bionicle ads on my grandpas computer. I watched the mistika ad the most. The mistika were always my favorite design wise. I loved the way they looked. And I always think of closer to the truth whenever I think of the later years of bionicle. It’s so eerie and created this sense of ending that I subconsciously grabbed onto. There always felt like there was something deeper.
I don’t know if you felt the same, but I hear a sense of weariness in this song, as if someone knows the end is coming, but no matter how hard they try and fight it, it’s unstoppable… Great work in eliciting such a feeling in this song!
Knowing the end is coming after fighting for so many years and now just succumbing to tiredness. No more fighting, it's finally over. That's what I get from it. Similar sense of weariness but specifically a refusal to fight any longer, and just let fate run its course.
It's amazing how the last one sounded sad and distant, this is like a subtle hopefulness, it sounds like the heroes finally getting the strength to fight back after the low point of the prior remix
You guys should check out his actual music (Essenger) I’ve been following his work since he went by a different artist name and I can tell you, this guy is a musical genius and deserves much more recognition
My fav cryoshell song! It's a song that summarises the vibe of late-g1. With every next secret reveal the heroes learn both more about the world they inhabit and just how truly screwed it is. I'd like to think this edit is like an end credits song for the 2008 plot. When everyone realises that Teridax won and Mata Nui has been banished. Hope is now only but a fledgling star that flies further and further away from the matoran universe, its destination unknown.

I think the best part about your work is that, as someone who never really watched Bionicle as a kid, maybe parts of the Legend Reborn movie and the Phantoka ad, this music is still remarkable even without the context that it was used in the ads.
I wonder how you'd go about doing Bye Bye Babylon. Something about that song feels like it doesn't lend itself well to dark ambience - alongside Come To My Heaven and maybe FAUX, it's probably one of the hardest rock songs Cryoshell's made.
Both this song and Creeping in my Soul give me cosmic horror vibes. Like we've plunged into the unfathomable depths of R'lyeh and found Cthulhu slumbering for eternity. Careful: don't interrupt his nap!
I guess in a ways, Bionicle is a bit cosmic horror. Behind all the flashy heroes and villains, all the battles fought, good prevailing, evils defeated, no matter how grand a scale it feels to you as a Matoran or a Toa, all you really are are a bunch of microbes battling it out inside the body of a gargantuan god you have no way to comprehend, nor he you.

Wow, this really captures the sense of reverent mystery and awe that the world of Bionicle inspires. The world is mysterious and dark and ancient, and you feel so small as you wander it. Somber yet captivating. Awesome job dude!

I’d love to hear All Insane Kids’ “Hero” or “Caught Up In A Dream” in this style (both from the Hordika era), as well as Cryoshell’s hard-hitting “FAUX” like someone else mentioned. Or…maybe even Edism and Malta’s “Face Me” from 2007? No matter what you do next, your work is appreciated by a lifelong fan of Bionicle!

I would say I'm really happy you made another one but the sheer ambience of this prevents any such elation. I instead find myself lulled into a deep sense of peace and content...like a certain hero who sacrificed himself.

Krika wondering the swamp and aloofly telling whoever would listen of Terridax’s betrayal and the universe’s gargantuan equivalent of god being corrupted by it’s satan was my first exposure to the bionicle story when I was a little 7 year old. It’s been my favourite franchise ever since.

Do you have any idea how hard it is for me, a 28 year old man who loves Jesus to find a woman who loves Bionicle as much as I do? You can’t filter for that on a dating site. I say the same for Bungie Era Halo. But yeah. I wanted to name my kids using their alphabet Bionicle names.
