Anybody watching this: --- Be very cautious about the water storage tank in very back of the trailer. That's a BAD and DANGEROUS idea. Too much weight at the rear -- 800 pounds swinging left and right during quick maneuvers can get you killed. If you are planning on building a trailer --> design your water tank and holding tanks as low and as close to the axles as possible.

I won't go as far as to say it's dangerous but it is definitely not optimal. Eventually you figure he's going to find the crypt, so you wall off a portion hoping to fool him to fool him when he does, and luckily you do as he finds it and starts to stash corpses into the space. Trying not to breath the whole time while he's in there arraging body parts. He even grabs your leg by mistake once but decides not to move it. Well at leaste you survived.

Great fort! When I was like 13 I built a fort in the woods between four evenly spaced trees that was well over 30 feet tall from the ground to the "sun deck" . It had two open floors (no walls) between enclosed floors. It had a ladder in a different spot on each floor and a knotted escape rope from the roof to the ground. It had a Colman heater, a boom box for entertainment and we even had a porta potty away from the fort. We were always trying to find a fireman's pole or build a slide for life but the township found it and torched the place one Sunday. I could see the fire from the highway on our way to church. When we finally got back there some time later it had all been picked up and aside from some burned tree trunks, you'd never know it had been there. The township posted a sign on each of the four trees "No Trespassing, Twp Property" I'm in my 60s now and I'm absolutely going back there at some point just to see if I can still find the spot and maybe a relic.

I have seen a few of these videos and they all seem to have a common element, their battery bays are a C fire waiting to happen. To humor you guys I will list a couple that I see off first glace. 1.) Mechanical abrasive shorting potential between cells when the insulation of the main leads is a potential risk. In general you want a circuit interruption device to be as close to the battery as possible. 2.) Exposed cells/bus tie points. Any conductive material across those points can dead short that portion of the battery until it fuses open, looses connection, or destroys affected cells. Potential for class C fires, then class A, and in worse case Class D due to the lithium battery chemistry. On a good note, those cells look to be of a more stable chemistry. 3.) That circuit breaker is convenient; however, not likely rated for the DC current interruption needed with that battery in a fault. 4.) Water by electronics. Self explanatory; not necessarily a hazard, but precautions should be observed. 5.) Dual use storage and rigging for sea. This is more of a general concept, the electrical system needs to be protected if the space is going to be used for storage duty. Contents may shift during flight. 6.) This may be a bit inevitable, but there isn't easy access to the battery bay when loaded. This goes back to circuit interruption. I would install a remote battery disconnect contactor that isolates the battery at a touch of a button. 7.) Maybe I missed it but I didn't see any figure extinguishers in sight in that battery well. Just a few top level observations. Nice build.

Yes some valid points. This looks like a Blue Sea Systems circuit breaker which should be ok for 48V and 3000 Amps breaking capacity. I think if say it's a 5kW inverter then I'd add a 150A HRC fuse for peace of mind.

@@n3lee The 48v battery bank has been fantastic, no issues there at all. The 48v heat pump that I purchased was overpriced and the heating function on it was flakey at best. It would error out frequently for no apparent reason and it would almost always error out if the wind was blowing directly into the outside unit's fan. The company I bought it from (HotSpot Energy) was not helpful in getting the situation resolved. I think it was a beta product and I was a guinea pig. The only downside to a 48v system in an RV is getting equipment that'll work with it. Your choices are more limited. Should you choose to go with 24v, there's a lot more options.

With the weight in the back, my tongue weight was 12%, as weighed by truck scales. Bumper-pull trailers are supposed to be in the 10-15% range, so I'm easily within that range.

@@michaelberding4616 I love your build, but what about contamination problems with your fresh water tank? You don't appear to have any filtration system in place for your drinking water, nor a convenient way to clean or descale the tank
@sketch2620
@sketch2620 4 года назад
Should mount water-tank in the center back there, to distribute weight equally between both sets of tires.
@michaelberding4616
@michaelberding4616 4 года назад
@@LukusCannon I only put potable water in the tank, so contamination is never an issue. I do run the water through a secondary Brita filter, but that's mostly just because I like to have it chilled. With regards to cleaning or descaling the tank, that's not a common practice in the RV industry or community and just hasn't been an issue.

Now everything is where I want how I want it(commercial grade😉) and screw buying propane >Diesel heating is the most legit, almost done rebuilding mine now. Similar electricals but different setup. 48v all electric ftw😆

I love the build except for one thing - the "crypt" is a show stopper for me. I'm not claustrophobic by any means and I was even certified at one time to work in confined spaces. I just draw the line at sleeping in a small enclosed space with only one egress. It's a great idea I might get used to it but not my cup of tea... Otherwise I could live in that rig forever. It's magnificent.

BMS is for chums😅 and low temp cut off is for peasants 😏 I kid, I kid, I damaged my first set of $1600 batteries (105ah X16) that way. But in all honesty if he keeps it between 10-95% he should be ok those are huge batteries which shouldn't drift since I doubt he hits Max C rating on discharge.

A split level trailer, what a perfect layout. Efficient use of space in order to have space where you want it most. The sleeping space is ideal. I see the logic in the design. Way more comfortable than any other. If I ever decide to do that I'd start from that design adapt it. Love the way it is fully cold proof.
