Cryptid Profile: The Ropen 

hey @J :) the image in question at 9:29 isn't the Ropen ! it has been said to been another supposed living pterosaur that was found during the Civil war ! in the South ...... the story of this one is as follows : some Sothern soldiers were trekking though some Swamp land in the south ! then all of a sudden they were getting Swooped by a large bird like animal ! then came the order to shoot it down !! they shot it down and it looked like a Pterodactyl ! they took a photo seen here allegedly and this was suppose to support the belief of the Giant bird stories known as the THUNDERBIRD ( not to be confused with the British TV series or any sports teams with the same name ) THUNDERBIRDS are said to be in Ancient American Indian foke lore and have been said to been supposed living pterosaurs as some cave paintings also seem to look like it as well . ................... then also came the April 26,1890 the Tombstone Epitaph published an incredible article of six gunslingers / Cowboys shooting the Tombstone Thunderbird right out of the sky. again an alleged photo was taken but it turns out this was a promotional picture to support a dinosaur ride near a cowboy attraction at an amusement park - yet some still believe the story to be real ! as that so called Thunderbird looked like a Pterodactyl as well but the prop for the ride was so convincing for promo shots people believe the story is REAL !!! sadly to say the Civil war story and the theme park cowboy story for a Dinosaur ride have been mixed in with stories of THUNDERBIRD , Pterodactyl and Ropen sightings although the photos are all considered to be fakes or hoaxes ! no actual photo evidence to support the claims .
