Just got the beta, and I must say Hunter mode is awesome. Crash Site is a lot of fun. Overall, it seems to flow a bit better than in Crysis 2 or something, I can't really tell. I'm enjoying it thoroughly Before I start a war, I loved Crysis 2, just some small multiplayer issues for me.
To all those who have issues with it freezing. Don't join any party's or push the guide button. If you hit start leave it until you get to the menu then join your party etc.
@PCGMTech I like (most people) count the days by waking up not when it turns mid night, its not accurate (no duh) but its only gonna be out when people are available to play the game, sure we have school and jobs but I dont think that theyre gonna make people stay up all night just because of a beta, just because they said its coming on the 29th doesent mean its coming at 00:00 , it could even come out at 12:00 all that matters is the day, not the time
Actually, on second thought that octocore might come in handy when the Xbox 720 comes out. It's supposed to have an 8 core processor so that means stuff that gets ported to pc's might actually use 8 cores.
buying this game day one, dont even care if the mp beta sucks. the mp in crysis 3 was stilll lotssss of fun and the singlepayer was sweet!! looking forward to this!
I can't wait for crysis 3. Crysis 2 was good,it just wasn't as open as the first one gameplaywise. I was in the Crysis 3 alpha and liked the multiplayer. Now I just hope the single player is more sandboxy like the first crysis.
"MW2 did not ruin the FPS genre. Developers have never lost the ability to make creative, polished and fun FPSes since its release but I have the feeling you merely threw that comment in there for internet approval." That has to be the most logical comment I've read on youtube since 2013.
No, the FSB will struggle to keep feeding the GPU with data. I had a 460 with a similar CPU before, it could only run at max 75%, not because the CPU wasn't fast enough, but because of the FSB not able to keep up.
Actually crysis multiplayer gameplay is much more tactical and forces you to work as a team rather than just running around and shooting the first enemy you see.
lesson to be learned : when you want to look cool by sliding and shooting a handgun at the same time, make sure no one taking a shot at you with his bow.
While I do agree that the graphics have improved, the HUD is still very much a copy of Crysis 2, which makes this feel like an expansion for Crysis 2, in the same way that Warhead was an expansion for the original Crysis. I think the MW2 comment raises an important point; twitch gameplay on small maps is more financially rewarding for devs than what I loved most about Crysis and Crysis Wars - the big open maps, power struggle, and vehicular warfare. But you can't do that with consoles apparently
When they give a date without an area it's safe to assume they mean it's the american release date and as of right now it's still the 28th with about three hours left till 12am.
Am I the only one who can't connect to the servers? It was awesome, but people keeps complaining that the bow sucks on Crash Site. You just need to aim correctly or just shoot it once and quickly shoot it again. Also, the VTOL on the airport can be boarded. I usually jump on the side and ride it from there.
Dear people who don't like the game. Quit complaining you haven't purchased anything yet. The beta is free if you don't like it don't play it. I for one really enjoy the beta and have decided to pre-order.
Well, if you are a true Crysis player, you've played the first games. And Power Struggle was what made those very fun. The landscapes, big maps and that game mode made it "Crysis Multiplayer". Crysis 2 made the game more of a cod/arcade game - sadly. Hunter Mode here looks very interesting though, and I wasn't going to buy Crysis 3, but that mode might change my mind. We'll see when beta hits tomorrow.
Crysis 3 takes full advantage of the top-of-the-line commercial graphics cards out today without causing too many computer problems. With that being said, I'm pretty sure the graphics are as good as they can be for PC without crashing eveyones systems. I've played on my PC and my friends XBOX and I can't say that Crysis' graphical developement is held back by consoles at all. And as far as gameplay is concerned there isn't too much of a difference between PC and Console FPS gameplay anyway.
Oh I know that, the idea was to future proof the computer in a sense. As for the 8 core vs the 4. I know the 4 core was better for gaming but the 8 core was better for all around use, so although the computer is mainly gaming, I figured I would go for a more balanced approach.
Hardly. They made this game primarily for consoles, and the only thing Crytek did to set the PC version apart was make Hunter mode minimally larger, and different graphics optimization. If Crytek hadn't catered to consoles, Crysis would be VERY different, and SIGNIFICANTLY better, not to mention the fact that the graphics would be far beyond what you see now.
This is a multiplayer video. If you want to see the graphics of Crysis 3 watch the gameplay video on their page. It looks leagues above Crysis. MW2 did not ruin the FPS genre. Developers have never lost the ability to make creative, polished and fun FPSes since its release but I have the feeling you merely threw that comment in there for internet approval.
I have no clue, I doubt games anytime soon will need 8 cores. I could be wrong, but it seems like graphics, although still improving, have slowed down. So I don't know. I suppose just keeping more crap on screen would be the next goal, other than the idea of ditching pixels and putting vectors. I could be completely wrong though lol.
The issue is, it's not THAT expensive to build a good computer. My computer can run The beta flawlessly on high settings, and that's without being overclocked. Not to mention that my specs beat out what the 'next gen' is suppose to bring. Next Gen consoles are rumored at $400, while I put around $600 into replacing just about everything on my computer. And it's probably twice as powerful as what the next gens will put out.
Great is kind of relative, not sure what you mean. Mine might be able to pull off 30-40 on high without aa if I was on Airport but not on the Museum. For this game, I like to play at 60 so I have to go medium.
i have a friend that mods the graphics cards and processors on consols for a small fee so if he does it so do alot of other people meaning that what you say about consol being better is irrelevant because there will always be players who play with better processors and graphics cards its just part of life
Who is rating? It should be pretty obvious what I was doing. I said the RAM should be fine, since the majority of the work is pinned on the graphics card. OS holds a place because they pull RAM in as well, so you can have 3 gigs, but only 1 to work with. And so on. Basically saying that You can have all the cores and ram in the world and it won't reflect much of a difference.
Okay so I put my settings to High with 2x smaa and I can pull 30-60 fps on airport and it averages around 40-45. Museum probably would pull it down into the 20's and average in the 30's. I've got a Sapphire 7870 OC Edition, a Phenom II x4 955 @3.7ghz, and 8 gigs of ram. I want to play at 50-60 so i have to keep it at medium with no aa and low shadows.
Nope. But, graphic cards play a major role. I can overclock mine, and probably force a lot more power out of it, but I need to junk the factory heat sink. As well as adding an extra fan or so. Otherwise my computer gets a bit too hot for my liking. I have a GeForce 550 ti, which is pretty damn good if you ask me. Also, Crysis can run on plenty of computers, you just need a powerful one to have max settings. 90% of games still look great on high or medium.
The people that say this copies cod are not smart there are 4 styles of gameplay cod, halo, battlefield, and there is crysis there are more but these are the top 4.
You missed my point. My 670 can run the game fine on max, and that's pretty much what the average PC gamer has (if not the 680). As for overclocking, I was talking about my GPU, not my CPU, and I only overclock it to stay above 40 FPS. My BIOS automatically OC's my CPU when necessary, and it's not necessary for Crysis 2. My point is, Crytek should have stayed on the path they were on and not become greedy. Playing the game on max is hardly a challenge for a gaming PC, completely unlike Crysis 1.
I can run Crysis 2 fine, at max, with my 670, which is average (if not below) for a PC gamer. Maybe with minor overclocking. Crytek could have done a lot better with the game graphics, but since they were making it for console, they couldn't do much. They would've been better off by making it PC only. There is a way to optimize the engine to make better graphics without needing much more power. They didn't even go close to overboard, they just didn't use the full power of CE3 in Crysis 2.
"w0mblemania" I def agree with you. I don't like that they call this a beta when the games prolly gold or close to it... However, it's still technically a beta since MOST game companies and studios release day one patches. So we still are testing it for them until day one. But ahhh I remember when games weren't released till they were 100% done
Can I run it on minimum graphics with this machine? VGA: GeForce 9800GT 512 mb CPU: Intel C2D e5200 2.5 GHz RAM: 2 Gb It easily runs Battlefield 3 and Far Cry 3 on medium settings.
That's not the problem, the game is highly unoptimized. My 550 Ti went okay at Crysis 1, 2 and Warhead, but when I played the closed Alpha, the lag was horrible.
Based on my experience with the closed Alpha, you can expect the exact same thing from Crash Site (gameplay wise), Hunter looks interesting, but not something to make me want to buy the game. Ah Crytek, Crysis Wars was the last time I truly had fun in a Crysis multiplayer.
I have a question for anybody who wants to answer. When you activate maximum armor, does it ever run out like is crysis 2? or is it infinite? please respond.
Yes I did enjoy Far Cry 3 to some extent too, but it is more than obvious that the reduced player count per server, lack of vehicles, smaller default maps, total reliance on a clunky random matchmaking system, and P2P lobbies were mostly influenced, if not introduced by MW2, while Far Cry 2 had mostly none of that crap.
I have an i5-2400 8GB RAM and a XFX Radeon 7850 and I can run the game on high with object, water, and particle I think it was called on very high and I was not expecting that I was thinking like medium but you'll do very high I'm thinking.
This is going to go great with my I7 core processor and my GTX 670 with my 16 gigs of dedicated RAM. I also get 50-60 fps sorry for bragging but, I'm so excited
You're missing the point. The average PC gamer isnt going to get a 670+ graphics card with an overclocked processor. This is what you keep in mind when you're developing a game. They dev games based on what will sell, not on what will look the best. If they did then no most people wont be able to afford the game or the hardware to play it.
i checked the specs for this game and my GPU is literally the only aspect that doesn't meet the recommended specs (hell the all even meet the optimal/hi-performance specs). Its a NVIDIA GeForce GT540m 2GB. Anyone got an idea as to how well this will run with it? As i said the rest of my system even meets the optimal specs.
@NachoTheKiller yeah, I'm having fun with it but it does bug me a bit that my Gpu can handle the game so much better than my cpu. Not sure if its worth it thoug, I'd probably only go up to high with 2x msaa. I can run most games pretty well on max settings already except usually I have to settle for 30fps.
Consoles are slowly catching up to PC levels. 12 on consoles and 16 on PCs... I remember a while ago consoles could only run optimal levels of multiplayer with about 8 people. (not counting big time games like halo or call of duty.)
Yeah, I could see that. And I do prefer shooters on the Console but...sometimes I compromise it since well...the PC is so much better in every which way. So it's really hard to justify. For me at least. I don't care about playing with friends I actually know, I'd prefer to play with newly made friends online lol.
