I cried in the end because of the irony. The irony that the Nanosuit BELIEVED itself to be human, to be Lawrence Barnes when the fact that both Alcatraz and Barnes have all died, assimilated by the suit. If you read the Crysis 2 novel you'll know that the Nanosuit really wanted to survive, to exist so much that it took Alcatraz's corpse as raw materials for its own survival. This was a story of a suit wanting to be its wearer.
not really a surprise, knowing that its made of the same material the aliens are made of. its basically everything of everyone - partially ceph, partially prophet, partially alcatraz. it has the technology of the ceph, the knowledge of prophet and the body of alcatraz. but its interesting. instead of becoming a part of the swarm intelligence of the ceph it conserved the mind of prophet and disregarded its primary mission of following the order of the alpha ceph and instead assimilated the "mission" of prophet, which is saving humanity from itself.
I never read the crysis 2 novel, but yes, if you pay attention to all the little details in the last two games you can pretty much understand that. There's even a mission briefing video where the suit takes Prophet's face to order Alcatraz to fight. So in the end Alcatraz was reconfigured down to the DNA to be Prophet and finally the entire suit became "human" after all, he is only human.
The suit didnt want to become its wearer. Barnes uploaded his conscience into the suit, however even after knowing that it was alcatraz’s body in the suit ( which it needed a body to function ) after a longer period of time it started re-programming to look like barnes
Still, behind the artificial body of prophet that we see at the end he has transformed the nanosuit into, we can't forget, alcatraz's corpse is still stuck in him somewhere. That's a bit... disturbing in a way.
It's not even Alcatraz anymore, during the campaign Psycho asks how many times he's had to replace the body behind the mask, like a spare part. Which is even more disturbing, yet awesome
I think the organic parts have already been converted and merged into the suit. So it WAS Alky's body, but it's probably been full on cyborg-ized by now. 23 years is a long time.
irou95 weel alcatraz is dead AND alive his dna is still in the database of the nanosuit but it is unrecorverable so hes still there but his dead until the suit needs his data again
you probably notice that when prophet re-entered the atmosphere he crash-landed exactly where nomad landed in the very first moments of the entire crysis series
We really don’t give some of the voice actors out there enough credit. May be one of my favorites in terms of overall story composition(the crysis series) and I feel it wouldn’t have hard the same impact with any other voice actor.
Did anyone else feel a bit of nostalgia seeing that beach from Crysis (Contact)? That was the first time the sun rose on Lingshan and the game really blew your mind with it's jaw-dropping visuals. It looks amazing to this day and next-gen games are only now really catching up to graphics of that level. Sure, almost no one could run it back then with everything maxed out, but it still looked amazing.
Corristo89 IT STILL DOES look amazing. First time i saw that endin and a blink of Lingshan at night I was like "What? Really?". But it's a good ending. I like it. It closes the story pretty well.Maybe not as spectaculad as Makarov's hanging, but "This is for Raptor Team, you s.o.a.b." is a line I waited for so long so it's. Crysis 3 suck at how-well-is-the-world-made level and it's physics (it's all scripted - so bad ;/ ). But it's not bad visually and molti is good.
InteloPL Crysis 3 is not bad visually? You obviously haven't played it on full graphics. Even implying the idea it could be bad is absurd. People finally got a PC title to melt GPU's and its "not bad"? XD It's by far the best graphics ever for the time it came out on full spec. Enough to rival anything that is out today.even at being 2 years old now. That says a lot.
HazaRDReborN Than you don't know much about games and graphics.. (not an insult) CryEngine 3 HAD to be simple, because otherwise all those weak consoles like... oh, idk - Xbox, Playstation COULD NOT RUN IT if it was as good or as . Crysis 1 i now almost 8yr ord and on max beat the shit out of both C2 and C3. It became a standart in the industry to TRY being as good as C1. Don't belive? C1 could not be played on Xb/PS untill release of CE3, and guess why... I not only play games but i also try to make them. C3 may look good - ok. All locations are preaty well made - fine. There are some physics added unlike in C2. Agreed. But none of them beat C1. Crytec HAD to make Cryengine 3 more scripted, easier for developers to use and most of all LIGHTER. And that's why it's not as good as it's predesesor used in firsty Crysis in 2007. BTW. C1 still melts most of PC's GPUs today, just as it did in 2007. I like C3. I even adore it. But I chose C1. And not only because of graphics or physics. And that's my stand, friend. :)
InteloPL yes yes. I have used both engines (one for modding one off the rack for game asset creation) have even used other tools in the industry like all the UDK and other plainer engines, and have been pretty much a part of the gaming industry (indirectly professionally and directly, and of course as a gamer) for 20 years now... Apparently I do not know what I am saying. Anyway, agree to disagree I guess. I was on my way to relax a little for my break, sorry. Getting into the details is too much for now. Lets just say that with tessellation alone Cryengine 3 is more advanced and has much better graphics. And I picked on 1 element of many. ps, I am talking about the proper Cryengine 2. Not a modded version. Modded version always tend to surpass their base model. pps, C1 does not melt my PC by a long shot, C3 does. I could play C1 fluently on my old rig on max graphics, and that machine was like a tetris tablet in-front of my new pc which experiences frame drops at times on C3. I think you need to do some more research but anyway thats just my opinion. Take care.
Hello to everyone in 2017! I bring good tidings of the one and only CRYEngine ! God heard our heart felt prayers and saved the best engine in the world ! From CRYEngine3 almost dying to today CRYEngine5.3 Thank you God !!
+Killer-Toni you know that was only five people and in the portrait I noticed that there were six people, who do you think that sixth person on raptor team could have been.
At the and of the day, you have the unbound nano-suit walking in a human form of Laurence Barnes, considering itself human. Well, however the situation was developing from crysis to crysis 3, the idea is quite good!
Crysis started out in a very mainstream manner. First it was fighting against the North Koreans in a suit that gives you superpowers, then it was the North Koreans using similar suits against you, then it was finding blue-green halo-like aliens with tentacles and fighting them, and the same goes for Crysis Warhead. Even though Crysis 1 and it's expansion were beautiful and unique due to the elements of being on an island with jungles, and snow, and hostile forces, Crysis 2 is where the shit got absolutely real. Crysis 2 is where we get to look at the civilians, and the modern city of New York getting affected by the much stronger and better adapted aliens. The Ceph are now much more lethal, and so is the new nanosuit. The game also has an element of horror attached to it, and Crysis 1 didn't have that even 0.1% And in Crysis 3, the whole thing hits the top. It's even more surprising that the game with the most impact has only 4 major characters in it, one of them being over 200 years old, other being a nanosuit veteran, and the protagonist being a new version of an actually dead soldier.
@@sn31t33 No, Hargreave didn't see an invasion coming. If he did, he would never have stolen the Ceph technology in the first place, because that's how the Ceph woke up and the alien invasion happened in the first place.
@@mrknockknock1 My knowledge is that Hargreave took the technology with him 100 years ago without waking up the ceph. The CIA Girl tells you this in 2023 when you escape from the Laserparty. In 2020 the north korean army evacuate all citizens on the Island where the Cephs are slumbering, but the USA had scientists on the Island so they wanted to evacuate. Note: Sources in the web are annoying, one says it was Hargreaves plan all along some say it was koreans idea. This was a good oppertunity for Hargreave to let the Nanosuits gain "Battle experience" and collect more info about the cephs. but year you know what happend. So without the N. Koreans there wouldnt be a ceph invasion.
@@sn31t33 The armor was largely experimental. Obviously Raptor team weren't the first ones to use the nanosuits, in the lab or on the field, but the previous ops were never done at any of the locations where the Ceph were buried. They were buried at various locations all over the world, but there were so many more of them close to the surface of the Ling Shan islands, and that's pretty much where the nanosuit activity was the highest. Combine that with the damage, where and tear, nuclear activity, military activity. It was only a matter of time before it woke the Ceph up. Now Hargreave had access to a lot of Ceph-related data through the samples he collected at the Tunguska event, and of course, the nanoweave. But did he know the locations of any of the Ceph cryo-vessels? No he did not. He knew about their existence, and even considered the threat of an alien invasion a real possibility, which is why he sent Prophet on a secondary undercover double-op to Ling Shan, to privately collect data related to the Ceph and report to him. But even then, he had no idea that it would wake the Ceph up. He was probably hoping to stop it from happening before the Ceph had a chance to do it, like a pre-emptive strike, because his main goal was to eventually have a suit of his own in order to have his physical body mobile again. He was unhappy with the cold immortality of the tube.
There is a Theory that Psycho Is similarly to a prophet in Nano suit symbiosis As the last entry of Wiki trivia states, in the final cutscene Michael pulls off stuff very similar to Gen-1 Nano suit Remember Nano suit grows into the wounds, to heal them maybe those particles stayed behind and slowly transformed Sykes
@@vineboom3857 He also suffers from seizures (when he clutches his chest). according to the lore, the nano suit grows into the wounds and facilitates healing. Most likely after the suit was stripped, the leftover nanotech did the magic
@@vineboom3857 also in the last cut scene, when we are shown the perspective of Psycho chasing the directors, Psycho is moving or running like how someone with a nanosuit would.
@@LuLeBe Crysis 2 epilogue does have a great kick, no denying that. But if you notice that epilogue music, it’s more of “The fight is not over, we have hope and we will win”. This Crysis 3 score is kind of all the Flashback memories of everything Barnes/Prophet faced so far - the challenges, human emotions, choices which summoned him to this crucial point. That’s why is purely emotional.
@@md.mahbubulislam8317Add to all that that the strings kick right when you look at what could be the last sunset the earth will ever have, with a giant threat that you can't fight back.
I do not know why, but this game has an incredibly beautiful story especially from the end when Laurence almost dies and hears the voices that the tear shows a bit of a feel. I hope that Crytek will continue this series which made her the most famous for me, and I can say that no one else I like that much like that. Crysis will stay forever in my heart.
Lesley Revenge i have played every game in this series from crysis 1 to warhead to crysis 2 to crysis 3 and i am not going to stop playing crysis 3 MP as i is the best ever.
@@daniellevonja7281and hopefully nomad will be the playable since he survived warhead and would feel full circle considering we haven't played as him since 2007.
2023 and I still get shivers and cry watching this... I was living my best life with the girl I loved the most, pops was alive, had a fantastic school schedule... Damn I was living the dream and I had no ideia about it 😭
There there brother, same with me. Just today I played the trilogy remastered on PS5 all on superhuman/delta difficulty and just yesterday I saw this ending and I felt it, great disturbance in the force 😅😢
+Zabbat I actually enjoyed the Multiplayer more than the campaign for some reason, lol. Honestly, the multiplayer was pretty well rounded, and excelled in some areas where alot of MMO shooters fail completely. Gotta give it to em' for trying :P
The fact that even this long later the ending still gets me with the nostalgia hit. The combination of memories and the island from the first game. It was a definitely a satisfying end for Prophet and the suit.
"Good evening, members of the board. I was a guest at one of your hospitals a little while ago....And I'd like to make a complaint" hhahahahahahaha, most awesome ending for a game EVER!!!!
Crysis 2 and 3 had some of the best character stories I've seen in a shooter. I loved when Barnes tricks Alcatraz into wearing the suit to "Save his life" then hijacks the poor soldier's corpse. The end of that game where the director asks your name and you character answers with "They call me Profit". Then to come full circle at the end of 3 when he says "Remember me!".
They really need to make a prequel explaining the Tunguska event with Hargreaves and Rasch.Prophet discovering the Ceph after Crysis, and after Crysis 2, the wars that continued up until Crysis 3. Damn you Crytek lol, you could keep this going.
The suit literally showed the most Humanity in the game when everything hit the fan for Psycho it reminded him to be glad he was human it really makes us question what is human
@@jahangir7904 ye at least ... Fuck that i still want to see crysis 4 (Yes i know crytek is dead, BUT PROPHET ISN'T AND HE SAID REMEMBER MEE) PRE-EDIT-EDIT:* totally not drunk right now
Man, you feel like such a God firing that laser. Almost ten years on and I still get goosebumps watching that. The music when you first wake back up gives me chills too. Too bad I can't find that soundtrack
@@amogus1981 I was talking about the one that starts when Prophet wakes up and reaches for the dog tags, it sounds really urgent and ominous. But What are You Prepared to Sacrifice is a good OST too
I came back to see this ending one last time. This ending has stuck with me for the longest not only that but this game completely changed my view on pretty much everything there is about games. It also made me appreciate the game developers who actually care about how they create there game. They don’t just slap micro transactions and put lack luster features in there games and claim it as “content” like some the shady triple a publishers do. That why when I look at warframe a indie game that has some of the best content you could find that rivals and even completely beats some of the “content” that normal triple a games have. Since I normally don’t do this kind of commenting I get straight to my point I absolutely love developers who pour there everything into there game and to put it bluntly most triple a games are missing one simple rule when creating content or anything, they forgot what ambition is.
Crysis 2: "They call me Prophet." Crysis 3: "They called me Prophet." The suit, which assimilated Laurence Barnes and Alcatraz believed itself to be a a man called Barnes and used the alias Prophet. But by the end, 'Prophet' retained the last shreds of humanity it had left and now went by the name Laurence Barnes. The war was over. Prophet, the ultimate weapon is no longer needed, only Laurence Barnes remains.
If you want to put it that way, yes. The Crysis 2 tie-in novel gave a detailed description of how Alcatraz's body was being slowly eaten away by the suit and replaced with nanocells. Alcatraz by the end of Crysis 2 already lost his lungs, voice box and other organs. Basically the suit is now itself. It's just using the corpse of Alcatraz as a means to move around.
Alcatraz is dead. He's been dead since halfway through 2. The suit is sentient, "Prophet" came back around the time that Alcatraz was dead....Until the suit decided to morph into Laurence Barnes, it was a suit walking around with a corpse inside it....Its possible Alcatraz was dead before the suit even got put on him, those don't just come off.
@@lutherheggs451 Alcatraz wasn't quite dead. The novel set after Crysis 2 details the fight between Prophet and Alcatraz, as Prophet would intermittently 'black out' and wake up in places connected to Alcatraz, whom would occasionally have 'talks' with Prophet. Until the end when Alcatraz decides to rest.
The reason why we all love crytek. I just cant believe how some people say that crytek produce crap games. Crysis 3 is just a great game for many reasons. 1. The game-play 2.The story and its wonderfully confusing twist 3. The graphics ;P I hope this game and its series is remember throughout the years and generations of gaming. say: Long Live Crysis if you agree.
Nosinman There was a review that I think explains it better - Crysis 3 is the best and the worst. Prophet and Psycho are great characters; Claire and Hargreave are TERRIBLE! “Welcome to the Jungle” was AWESOME; the Alpha Ceph mission sucked
The reason C3 was inferior to C1 was the game style. While C1 was a semi-open world game where you can do whatever you want before caring about the main quest, C3 was simply a typical linear FPS game where you just get in there do your job and nothing else.
I felt a wave of nostalgia seeing that shot of Lingshan from the level "Contact". That was the first time Crysis hit you with all of its technical marvels. That huge draw distance, the sun coming up, light cutting through trees and grass and everything you saw was part of the level. And it showed me that my graphics card could barely handle Crysis XD
+Koro WasHere Crytek said it right after number 3 that they will make a 4th but i wont have anything to do with the original series, they also said that there is a chance that it wont even be FPS
Crysis4= Warface. It uses the CryEngine 3 and it's multiplayer is dope. The only bad thing is that it has a shut Co-Op story mode... Btw it is free to play
Girlfriend: Hey baby, wanna come over? Boyfriend: Can't babe, on the International Space Station for 6 months Girlfriend: My parents ain't home Boyfriend: 06:55
As the neural blocks now removed from the Nanosuit to destroy the Alpha Ceph, the nanites in the suit can rearrange to anything unimaginable, making the nanosuit more symbiotic than ever before. It changes it's outer layer as a human body and restores original face of Prophet,
I genuinely thought that prophet's conscience took over alcatraz's body at some point and got himself a new body. So while entering the the earth the suit sustained major damage until so little of the nanites left and gave prophet his long lost body back
max adam this prove that nanosuit in fact were stronger than any halo armour-including mjolnir. nanosuit were able to survive low orbit fall impact and works relative well as oppose to master chief
+Eissa Cozorav But if you remember in the third installment of the Halo franchise, Master Chief does survive low orbital impact as seen in one of the entro cut scenes. The Master Chief's armor has all the same abilities as the Nanosuit has except for splicing of DNA and RNA I would think. Examples include, cloak ability, can lift cars, over shield ability (which is very similar to the nanosuit's armor mode) and the Master Chief's armor has a few addition abilities such as, Attachable Jetpacks, holograms, creation of sentries and regeneration fields. I would assume given the circumstances the Nanosuit can attain these abilities if it had the technology, but as seen in the game it does not. Now I'm not here to argue that either set of armor is better as each has their pros and cons, as well as the Original version of the Mark V not having any ability aside from shielding and armor plating. So you could make the argument that the nanosuit was better, but the latest installments of Halo prove that the Mark V suit is much more adaptive than the first game lead us to believe. The Nanosuit does have a distinct advantage though, it appears to have the ability to splice DNA and cure most illnesses that would take at most months to make a cure for. But then again, when was the Master Chief ever afflicted with a deadly flesh eating bacteria?
+max adam It wasn't actually Prohpet himself. You can kinda understand that the suit is a thinking entity now by this ending. When Alcatraz died inside the suit cause it was shuting down so many times when you entered the spore and wasn't enable to support his damaged body anymore, it kinda did something that the suit eventually envolved into intellectual nanotech creature or something like that if you will, thinking that it's Prophet, making a clone of him from all his stored memories and so on but it's stil not Prophet, just a machine. At the end of Crysis 3 Prophet a.k.a nanosuit made itself look like a human cause that was the ''real'' Prophet's last wish before he passed away.
123doomdoom they do not pop up like that and it depends on the title when they do. Too much steam for ya buddy. Not all titles are on steam and not all titles have achievements, even some titles with achievements ON steam dont have pop-ups. So that was a lame thing to say.
who the fuck cries about that to begin with lol just fucking watch it again OR there's a setting on both consoles and PC that lets you turn those notifications off... People bitch about to stupidest shit
Honestly the achievement noti made it better, idk why you're salty over a cut scene being slightly interrupted buy a lil ding and a small popup. What a fkn pussy ffs "ThatS wHy i hAte cOnSOlEs" 🤓 headass
Wizol in Crysis3, it's just the nano suit which has the memory/conscience of prophet and inside it's holding dead Alcatraz it's basically just the suit showing proohet's conscience/memory. they are dead but immortal in suit
There's a file in the Crysis 3 database that said Alcatraz lost to the suit. The Nanosuit is now 100% in control of itself. It just takes Barnes' identity for some reason.
@ 8:17 I really like that even though the suit took the form of Lawrence you see that picture of Alcatraz with his squad. It really goes to show that even though the suit has merged them together he still honors both of their memories. They are truly the same person but also separate
***** Im pretty sure alcatraz is dead, remember back in crysis 2 they scanned him and his whole body was pretty much wrecked and that the only thing keeping him walking was the suit. So pretty much most of C2 you were playing prophet, its just that the suit had not fully reconfigured his mindset which was already stored in the suit before he committed suicide. I know real confusing and kinda sad for alcatraz..
The part where Prophet shoots the Ceph ship at 6:17, collapses the wormhole, and falls back into earth is sort of reminiscent to the part of the movie in The Avengers where Iron Man (Tony Stark) redirects the nuke and falls back into earth's atmosphere (well he gets caught by Hulk but still...).
I would like to say that, It is likely Alcatraz's mind suffered trauma during the end of Crysis 2, and man himself entered vegetative state. Suit can't function at 100% without a personality so Prophet took control. In the novel shows that the suit's dominant conscious kept shifting between Alcatraz and Prophet. Had Alcatraz's mind not exposed to the spore event, He would remain in control of his body
its 2017 and tbh crysis was my first game i ever played and i loved it.Never played crysis 3 but seeing this ending i got goose bumps like literaly how did Laurance have the suit powers with out it??? HOLY CRAP
Prophet can't reproduce. He's a one of a kind immortal species made out of nanites containing data. That's all that he is reduced to. The data is limited, and he is semi-organic.
when you unlock your nanites during the game (where psycho finds out who cut him out of his suit) it is said, that the nanites in your body can take/form any form they want. it is also revealed, that the body and the suit combined theirselfes. in the ending scene prophets body is in a way the suit, so prophets body could take any form he wants. so it's no problem that he looks like that.
I love how you can meme the boss by repeatedly jumping into a corner, cloak while he does that drill attack, evade it and go back to it He loses aggro and never manages to hit you anymore
Is any one Here who remember crysis wars ? Zombie online in crisis game ? Its my 9 years old child times with this game . Crysis 1 , crysis warhead , crysis wars , crysis 2 and 3 its one of most important games for me . When im realise it was 9 years ago for me . I got tears in eyes . I want and need crysis 4 to complete my gaming life. Sorry for english mistakes , Poland is my language.
How did you get the secret ending? and god Micheal is a great character in this game, the voice acting, character animation and facial expressions are top notch.
Prophet's personality and memories stored in Nanosuit assimilates with Alcatraz's body along with Alcatraz's memories, 'like a spare ghost part' in the process.
I guess that Alcatraz's body and the nanosuit are just the nanosuit now. First it was using his body as a skeleton, but now it "absorbed" all it's body, growing, and there's only the nano-suit. As the nanomachines are unlocked, he can transform his body in any shape, so he can turn his external apparience into Laurance's, to meet his personality.
