'Inhumans (TV Series 2017)' Crystal - All Scenes Powers & Abilities Crystalia "Crystal" Amaquelin is the princess of the Inhumans of Attilan and the younger sister of the Inhumans' Queen Medusa. Portrayed by: Isabelle Cornish
The reason this series flopped so bad is summed up in this video. She only shows her power for less than 2 minutes in the whole first (and only) season. Damn budget.
In the comics she can cause a dust storm, and she is able to create a wind of tornado intensity and she can fly. And Lift the city of Attlian. But in the show she just shoots Fire and Ice.
And medusa's hair is supposed to be impossible to cut since it's many times stronger than steel but the budget was so low that they needed to cut her hair from the show
Probably one of my favourite fictional characters ever! I love the possibility of her powers, but this is just such a underwhelming display of what shes capable of Ive always loved elementals, especially those not limited to one element I hope shell end up in the big budget movies
Feige is still open for there to be an Inhuman movie, and with the previous Marvel ceo having stepped down we might be able to get the Inhumans a decent budget to be better with their powers.
@@impulsiveray5586 Why would it mean that? One of the biggest things people argued against the Inhumans push in comics is they tried to make them the X-men/Mutants when they are not like them. So if that is the motion behind going against the push then having the X-men should still allow them to be used cause they are not the same.
Not since The Last Airbender movie has a character with the ability to control the elements been so laughably and tragically mishandled in a live action adaptation.
For correction, it’s electrokinesis and ferrokinesis. Hydro, aero, géo, pyro, cryo are good. Heatkinesis I am unsure if it is a word, but I know you mean thermal manipulation.
The real problem with this show was that Marvel was so unwilling to go all-out with the Inhumans. Yes, Scott Buck was the idiot who created this, but Marvel still hired him, and they approved this script. The Inhumans in the comics are fascinating because they are so BIZARRE. Contrary to what this and Agents of SHIELD portrayed, the Inhumans are NOT just a race of superhumans; they're an artificial hybrid species with individual differences so extreme they can have been described as "a subspecies of one". Sure, a couple might get something superpower-ish like Crystal, but for many their "powers" were the result of mutations so extreme that even the X-Men look normal by comparison. Most Inhumans weren't even ALLOWED to undergo Terrigenesis due to the fact that, given their extremely unstable genetic code, there is a high possibility of them mutating into horrific, mindless, nightmare monsters. Their culture operates on an extremely strict eugenics law BECAUSE of this instability, so that they won't wipe themselves out. Inhumans can't survive on Earth, either, due to their isolation giving them no resistance against human disease or pollution. What made the Inhumans cool was this twisted, isolationist society that--although following laws that humans would consider barbaric--NEEDED those laws to keep themselves alive, such as their isolation. But when Marvel used the Terrigen Bomb (in AoS, this was replaced by the Terrigen ending up in the ocean) it took away what made the Inhumans so unique, and years of that historical basis was forgotten when they just became a lamer copy of mutants. And from a writing side, this show was just... lazy. This clip is all the proof anyone needs. "Get her! Before she torches us all!" Really? That was the best they could do?
@@whitephoenixofthecrown8523 True. Marvel made two huge mistakes with Inhumans: they made it tv show instead of movie and hired Scott Buck. Everything else are just consequences of these two terrible choices.
@@whitephoenixofthecrown8523 I liked Inhumans storylies with Royal Family, especially when they were living in their own society and only from time to time vising Earth. After terrigen bomb exploded and anyone could be an Inhuman it stopped to be interesting.
The reason why agents of shield is better even though they don’t have a good budget is because the agents of shield don’t have powers so they have enough budget for the tv show, as for the inhumans they have a limited budget and have to use that small of a budget in making places, locations and other stuff and the powers as well
@@lol-ot4pn nothing near the level of scarlett witch just take a look at Wandavison Elizabeth Olson litreally has a different hand movement for every different thing, she actually blends her hand movements seamlessly to the cgi that why it looks so good.
Frankly, they ruined Marvel's Inhumans. They are one of the most interesting heroes in the marvel universe, however their TV series was badly written and had a mediocre budget for cgi effects. Medusa is such an iconic character and the rest of the team too.
that is a terrible visualization of what, I assume from what I see, are sort of elemental powers. it's not only a little unclear but also really boring looking. they really needed a bit more development time on this.
Yeah....it gets worse too. Medusa loses her powers within the first two episodes and Blackbolt can't use his because he's so strong that he could end up leveling a city. It's a super hero show where people barely used their super powers. It had such potential too =[
They made characters weak. Crystal is powerful with elements control but she used them rarely in the whole season. And she didn’t use earth control. Same for medusa
I don't know how far I got into the first episode but the moment I saw what they did to Madusa I was out, now I'm glad cause Crystal was one of my favorites and wow😔
This shouldn't have been made into a TV show. It's meant to be a movie. On the other hand, the budget and direction weren't up to snuff, if we're being honest. If those two aspects were different this could be a hugely successful show.
A smaller budget works well for the Marvel Netflix characters (however they obviously got a way higher budget than this) because story and characters were the main focus and most of the heroes didnt shoot lasers or fly in the sky. However when you're working with characters such as the inhumans you have to have the budget to support their epic powers it's that simple. When I watched Luke Cage it was epic there wasn't really a moment where I thought "Wow they didn't let him do that because of budget" He would walk in taking all the bullets, grab their guns and snap them in half, lift up a car. Inhumans just feels so off because it feels so restricted by its budget
This show was such injustice to the her and all the other inhumans. I remember being so excited thinking it would be on the same level as marvel’s agents of shield and tie into it. Like who sabatoged this 😩
I hope when they do a reboot, it's a show again, they use the same casts and is connected to AoS again. The problem wasn't the actors: it was the budget and writing. Here's hoping Daisy Johnson shows up, bitches.
Black bolt can sigh and destroy a whole neighborhood in thr comics, but in this show can only flip car, crystal can manipulate STORMS and crazy tornados and manipulate air (aerokinesis) in the comics, in here she shoots fire and ice with her finger. Medusas hair can cut thru STEEL in the comics, in here she can choke someone and hit 2 ppl before her HAIR gets cut off. What kind of garbage?
if they hadn't fucked inhumans up Ms Marvel would have probably still had her regular origin story for the show because then Inhumans would be established and they wouldn't have to go through more trouble of explaining who and what Inhumans are to make Kamalas background make sense.
Oh, come on guys. The show isn't that too bad. Was kind of entertaining even though some of the characters needed more working on!! But I guess that's why there's always a Season 2.? Not sure if we ever getting one.
Poor Inhumans. They got less love than basically everyone on the comics (Avengers, X-Men, Spiderverse, Fantastic Four), and when they are finally adapted for live-action, they got this.
If they make a inhumans movie they should retain this actress. She was good but the problem was the character wasn’t portrayed right and the director wasn’t very good.
Wonder Boy mOrOn you realize that that technically marvel still has the rights to the inhumans, and marvel will soon get full access to the xmen, right? just because a show was canceled doesn’t mean that a relationship can’t be mentioned on a different platform
Wonder Boy mcu quicksilver is dead but disney just acquitted foxs characters and fox quicksilver is proven to be alive, as he's in the trailers of dark phoenix, so i guess not ;)
Alex yes I am serious!!!! the inhumans are a big part of the marvel universe!!!! the last few episodes were very action packed, not to mention the tie-in that should have been with Agents of Shield!!! I will take the Inhumans over all the variety, game shows that every channel puts on TV. I only get to see the action shows on broadcast TV. you probably don't like Gifted either?

I come back to this show and laugh for several reasons. 1) Marvel really thought people would just shove the X-men to the side and embrace the Inhumans. 2)They did this mega push only for the X-men to ONCE AGAIN be their shining beacon (See House of X #1) 3) God Crystal is such a joke on this show when in reality she is one of the most powerful inhumans. I can help but relate to her portrayal and feel it mimics what Fox did to Storm in all of the X-Films.
