Back in 78" I was working graveyard shift at our local diner. The dinning room was closed and dark and it was just me and another girl working the front. It was around 3AM and i had just finished cleaning up the coffee urns and was wiping down the counter when this song came on the jukebox. I sang along as i was wiping ,without a customer in sight. Its a memory ill never forget,it just seemed so perfect. Ah to be young!😊😊😊
@@cockeyedoptimista I think of it as being sensuous, and she Is very aware of the camera and likes being attractive. As far as flirty, she married her high school sweetheart upon graduation and they have been together for about 55 years.
@@fredbloggs6080 He was her manager too. I don't know much about her. I just looked at the video again, though, and another one about her lovely hair and an interview and okay, she's gorgeous, and pleasant as well. I am probably envious, lol. She's sort of a one-hit wonder tho I always liked that song; still think her sister's more talented but no need to compare; it's a gifted family.
Being a black woman raised in the dirty south. I went to all white high school n had great exposure to country music. Few people knew that Crystal was the sister of the great Loretta Lynn n she was one of the most beautiful brunettes that I'd ever seen!!
No kidding. I wasn't a big fan of country, but I LOVED this song, and I loved HER . . .her voice is just simply honey in vapour form . . . and no, I had no idea she was the sister of Loretta Lynn . . reminds me of other songs that I loved . . .like Piano In The Dark . . . remember that? Little gems that may have been one-hit wonders, but man, were they wonders. Even Whitney Houston; that first hit song "Saving All My Love" . . . in fact, that's amazingly similar to this one! I loved that one, but lost interest after she became famous. Then there's Sara Bareilles' "Not A Love Song" . . . let me know if you ever listen to those tunes, and tell me if you liked them!
What is so great about the hair? Really? A grown woman with hair that long: it looks so - back-woods, I dunno. What are you going to do with All that hair? I know long hair is beautiful, but That long seems crazy. But what do I know; I'm not a guy.
David Urban .....that’s the best description of men, PERIOD! That is THE prettiest woman I’ve ever seen and I’m a 83 year old woman. Ohhhhhh and that VOICE!......sigh......
This was a time when a woman didn't need a huge rump to be considered "beautiful" or "talented". Crystal was/is absolutely drop-dead GORGEOUS, with the voice of an angel. She is without equal, imho, and, that hair!! Absolutely stunning and so very talented. I've never seen another performer quite like her. 🌺
@@cockeyedoptimista Yes I do. And look around, It seems to be a favorite style, with it wrapped around the back, over the right shoulder, and over their wonderful right breast.
One of my first childhood memories of music was this playing throughout my house on my Dad's turntable. I just felt so good hearing this....50 years later it's the same. 😊
Crystal Gayle is a GODDESS......An incredible voice, stunningly, naturally beautiful with no need for implants in her face or body, no hair extensions, lash or nail extensions (although this is not a critique of those women who choose to have that done). This woman is everything 🌺
I've always admired this beautiful lady with her voice and her BEAUTIFUL long hair. I guess that's why my hair is so long too. She is an Angel from God.
Ms. Gayle is one of those rare, stand-alone talents that combines rich tonal range, exquisite control, and a unique interpretive style that reveals the soul of a poet. Then she makes it seem effortless. In a word, Angelic.
I just watched her perform this at the 2019 CMAs. She sounds almost exactly the same! She has taken great care of her voice. Plus, she’s one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. 😍❤️
Never knowing her before,I was struck by her voice while watching Tara Simon react to the CMA 2019 you referenced and had to ask who she was. A crooner and a technically song sound singer indeed. She didn't sing in the usual twang-y style of country singers.
O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Sure brings back some great memories! I helped my dad in his 8track tape business as a kid. I was the quality tester & I played a lot of tapes. I had my favorite artists & she was one of them. What a VOICE! What HAIR! sure makes me wish today’s ladies looked more like a LADY & not someone from a nightmare! A blessing to listen to! 🥰🥰✌️
I remember in the early eighties, Crystal and Kenny Rogers was on tour together. Crystal sung this song and a few others for us employees. She is sure amazing to say the least, love this song. Thank you Crystal
Amen!!... it was great to actually hear the performer's voice back in those days. You can still hear the same emotional delivery and angelic singing voice of Crystal at her concerts today.
By far one of the most amazing women of all time .. they don’t make them like her anymore .. classy beautiful talent ... every guy was in love with her
She is so very very beautiful,,, and when she coys up to the camera lens, with those sapphires of hers,,, WOWOWOWOW,,,! POSSIBLY THE PRETTIEST LADY EVER!!!!
Thank you for Following my page , Support you showered on me, I hope you never stop listening to my music…Thoughtful, loving, goal oriented, along with sense of humor. I love to laugh and smile.....
strange... live performances are always a very special experience. You feel the thing a lot of different, more intensively. She is worth it to see live on stage.
The perfect song, the perfect singer...... wow ....is an understatement of perfection! Crystal Gayle .... grace and humility personified in a tiny beautiful lady indeed~!~
Honoured to be thumbs-upper #8 Thousand. Those eyes, that voice, facial expressions to match the lyrics, the body language... (and of course these Spandex Tights!)... etc... Thank you Crystal Gayle!
This is one of those songs that I can't imagine ever being sung by anyone but her. There is something so indescribably beautiful and emotional about the way she almost whispers "my brown eyes" toward the end.
Casually stop on in to listen to this beautiful song, didn't expect to see Andy Gibb presenting the song in this video. Now my brown eyes are really Blue!! So long ago but went so quick.
*"Back in 76 Crystal Gayle- brought this song to number 1 on the COUNTRY & POP charts. *"Don't It Make My Brown Eyes Blue!!"* Love you "Crystal Gayle!!"
Finally found this song! I don't know about any one else, but just the music of this piece gives me sweeping mental images of San Francisco during sunset.
After hearing a few songs she sang in the early to mid 70s... I liked her music....when this song came out..... Crystal Gayle became my all time favorite female singer.... still is....... but not sure if I like looking at her and watching her sing more or listening to her....Complete class, on and off the stage
My mum played this a lot when I was little I always looked at Crystal Gayle and thought how beautiful she is and she still is today and voice so very beautiful🌷♥️🌷♥️🌷♥️💐💐
So beautiful to me ..... truly a woman full of magic is the Angel on earth so uniquely beautiful ellegance, ........perfectly sensitive as a flower One of The best pop country singer ...the queen of my heart.....be blessed
SHE WAS/IS.SO FINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Classic era of my life!! I was 14 in 1977...WOW AGAIN!! She is also a "coal miner's daughter " ...right? Loretta' little sister. She it just glowing here!!! Andy Gibb . God bless'
she never gets tired of singing this song or being compared to Loretta- she is a icon in her own right- but I think she made a decision to choose reverence and respect...she is not Loretta, she is Crystal.
Throwback: Growing up in Maine listening to country music and way before hair extensions even existed, Crystal Gayle was my hair idol. My kid goal was to have hair as long as hers. Watch this and admire her beautiful hair (and voice).
@@dugroz I can answer your question and so can anyone else who possesses the bare minimum i.e. basic, elementary education in anatomy, biology, genetics and the law of probability : Did "Ms. Casella" meet her '[kid]goal'? The answer would be a resounding "NO!" As far as having 'hair as long as' Crystal Gayle is concerned: That is extremely unlikely to occur. One's terminal length is determined by his or her genetic code. Gayle has what is often referred to as "10 Year Hair", that is, her hair(s) remains in the growth phase of what is a cyclical process for 10+ years whereas the average person's scalp hair remains in said phase for, typically, 3 to 5 years. Being that human scalp hair grows at a rate of one half inch per month(that would be 6 inches a year) and varies little if at all from individual to individual , the 'average person' reaches, if they are lucky and avoid other natural and environmental influences that can negatively impact maximum length potential, a head of hair of between 18 and 30 inches -granted they don't cut it at some arbitrarily chosen time during the period in which the overwhelming majority of their hairs are in the aforementioned growth phase.
